Proposed int’l airport in Bukidnon pushed By IRENE DAYO Staff Writer

DAVAO City -- About 15 smalland medium- entrepreneurs (SMEs) in Davao will travel to Paris this October to explore the market and match with biz partners for possible trading of goods and crafts. This was said by Raf Vlumenns, founder of Entrepreneurial Coach and consultant of Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCCII). In an interview, Vlumenns said there is a wide market for the products of Davao citing for instance coconut products including buko juice and salad, and chocolate products from cacao beans grown here and other agri products. He said the SMEs will be bringing with them some products that they will showcase in an exhibit in Paris.

New power plant TAGUM City -- A 15-megawatt diesel-fired power plant aimed at augmenting the city’s peak power demand was inaugurated last January 17. Tagum City Mayor Allan L. Rellon hailed the power plant as a welcome development for the city, which could curtail the power shortage in the city and making it friendlier to businesses. The power plant is a P610million investment of the EEI Power Corporation, one of the firms under the Yuchengco Group of Companies. It will serve the needs of Davao del Norte Electric Cooperative (DANECO) as a peaking power plant, operating during the peak hours of 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
