SPES Program THE food giant company in the world famous for its allbeef patties and the iconic golden arch logo partners again with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES). Fifty (50) students will be given employment to five McDonald stores in the city located at LimKetKai Center, Puregold, McDonald Divisoria, and Centrio Mall. First batch of students will commence work on March 1 to June 30, 2015 and second batch will be deployed on July 1 to October 31, 2015. For 52 days, P15,912 will be disbursed to each beneficiaries at 40% and 60% sharing between DOLE and McDonalds. McDonalds will pay the amount in cash at P9,547.20. The remaining amount of P6,364.80 will be shouldered by DOLE through educational voucher for the tuition and book fees.
Water project DAVAO Oriental -– The provincial government on Monday turned over a newly completed water reservoir and a brand new L-300 van to Barangay Rang-ay in Banaybanay town. Funded under the Provincial Government Aid to Barangays, Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon personally opened the operation of the water reservoir and handed the key of the brand new vehicle to Banaybanay Mayor Adalia L. Tambuang with barangay officials during its turn over ceremony. Punong Barangay Sergio P. Marcos said the assistance will make a big difference in day-to-day life of barangay constituents here, adding that the longterm water shortage problem in his village has now come to an end.

Government vows to pursue peace process T
HE government will continue to push for the Mindanao peace process despite Sunday’s encounter between the police and members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in Mamasapano, Maguindanao, Communication Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr. said.
“A n g p a n a n a w n g pamahalaan ay hindi nagbabago. Mahalaga ang peace process sa Mindanao, mahalaga ang pagpasa ng Bangsamoro Basic Law at patuloy pa ring itinataguyod ang prosesong pangkapayaan,” he said during a press briefing in Malacañang.
