Sisterhood A DELEGATION headed by mayor Oscar Moreno left recently to Harbin City in the People’s Republic of China to strengthen the sisterhood ties between Cagayan de Oro and Harbin City. Several members of local Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and some members of the business community joined with mayor Moreno on the said foreign trip. The travel of mayor Moreno and party came after Harbin city mayor Song Xibin sent formal invitation to the city government in order to deepen the sister-city relationship between the two cities. Mayor Xibin likewise wanted mayor Moreno and the rest of the city delegation to witness the 31st China Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, which cannot be seen in Cagayan de Oro.
Half-cup rice THE chair of the City Council committee on agriculture and fisheries and author of Ordinance No. 126885 2013 expressed her gratitude and lauded restaurant managements for complying with the provisions of the ordinance. The law requires food establishments to include onehalf cup serving of rice in their menu with the corresponding one-half price as an option for public customers. According to councilor Annie Daba, chair of the City Council committee on agriculture and fisheries, that she personally noticed their compliance especially during the long holidays.

NVESTMENTS poured in the third quarter of last year in Northern Mindanao amounted to P5.42 billion, an overwhelming increase of 577 percent compared to the P800.41 million of investments generated in the same period of 2013.
