DTI chief says TRAIN won’t cause drastic rise in prices
Half rice DAVAO City -- Consumers in Davao City will soon have a choice in their rice consumption in restaurants and famous fast-food chains with the passage of the Half Rice Ordinance, now up for signature by Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio. The Davao City Rice Conservation Ordinance or the Half Rice Ordinance was finally approved by the City Council. It requires all business establishments serving food to include a half-cup of rice in their menu with its price also set at half of the one-cup order. Councilor Marissa Abella, chair of the City Council’s committee on agriculture and author of the ordinance, said the main goal of the law is to reduce rice wastage in the city since there are people who could hardly consume a cup of rice.

SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur--- Popular global 24/7 convenience store chain giant 7-Eleven opened on Friday its local branch here adding another feat to the inevitable booming progress of this premiere town in this province.
The local 7-Eleven store located along the national highway adjacent to the Municipal Police Office i s f r an c h i s e d by l o c a l businessman Gerry Bleza who also operated the Caltex gas station where the grocery is also located. It is the second of
only two branches in Caraga region. The other one is in Butuan City near Butuan Doctors’ Hospital. The opening of the new 7-Eleven branch here could be an envy to nearby cities in Caraga like Surigao City, Bayugan City, Tandag City and Bislig City and boosting 7-eleven/PAGE 11
