More gov’t aids COTABATO City -- More than 400 villages in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) had availed of health, education, livelihood, peace and governance and synergy (HELPS) program of the regional government, officials said Wednesday. “As of January 10, we have served a total of 403 villages, a feat never experienced before by poor communities in ARMM,” Anwar Upahm, ARMMHELPS program manager said in a statement. “Everyone in the community should be involved in the whole process of making the projects – they are the ones who identify the projects,” Upahm stressed, thereby preventing “white elephants projects.”

Eighty representatives from various government agencies took part in a TFBM programming workshop, organized by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), at the National Housing Authority (NHA) Main Office in Quezon City. This workshop aimed to facilitate the prioritization of short-term programs, projects and activities (PPAs) for the rehabilitation and recovery of Marawi City and other affected localities.
