Sasa Port THE P18.99-billion Davao Sasa Port Modernization project will be the first public-private partnership (PPP) project to be rolled out this year, with the Transportation department set to publish the invitation to bid within the week. Department of Transportation and Communications (DoTC) Secretary Joseph Emilio A. Abaya told reporters on the sidelines of an event in Quezon City on Wednesday: “We have to meet again because Friday is our deadline to publish the invitation to bid. That’s what the BAC told us. We just have to finalize some minor details.” This represents a twoweek delay from his earlier announcement last month, saying “Davao Sasa will be able to publish an invitation to bid before Christmas.”
P86M investments MAMBAJAO, Camiguin -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) posted a total of P86.14 million investments in 2014. Taking the lead this time are investments related to the health Industry, with the Camiguin Medical Center in Mahinog town topping the list with P15 million capitalizations, and another P3 million investment for a dialysis center in Binaliwan, also in the same town. Other investments included in the top five are the Dive Special Camiguin, located in San Roque, Mahinog with P9M capitalization; Nene Uy Space Rental at P3M, and Northern Lights downtown lodging house at P2M, both located in the capital town, Mambajao.

D AVA O C i t y - - T h e Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) should not be viewed as a perfect law that will solve all problems besetting the proposed political entity that will replace the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, the heads of the peace panels of both the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) said in a forum here Thursday. Speaking during the media roundtable discussion on the
BBL, Mohagher Iqbal, chair of the MLF peace panel cited that while the bill is a product of 17 years of negotiations, it is only one element that will help achieve lasting peace in Mindanao.
