Smuggled onions, fuel
ZAMBOANGA City — Naval forces in Western Mindanao and other government units intercepted suspected smuggled onions and fuel within the vicinity of a dry dock facility in Zamboanga’s west coast on Monday, Jan. 23.
Navy personnel together with Coast Guard, Philippine Army, Intelligence and Customs operatives intercepted a van loaded with an estimated 3,000 bags of smuggled red onions and found another 8,000 bags of approximately 44,000 kilos inside the vessel M/V Marisa.

Meanwhile, a Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) operation on a boat docked at the Zamboanga Varadero de Cawit (dry dock), also yielded hundreds of drums of smuggled petroleum products.
