ISO standard

OROQUIETA City -- The International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001:2008, a standard for products and services, is being revised to come out as ISO 9001: 2015, by the end of the year. This was revealed by Kevin T. Castillon, from Anglo Japanese American (AJA) Registrars, Inc, an ISO accreditation agency, in a recent seminar in Cagayan de Oro City, attended by some 100 employees of the Department of Trade and Industry, region 10 (DTI-10). Castillon said that ISO 9001: 2015 which will replace ISO 9001: 2008 will focus more on risks, how to detect and avoid them and could be a preparation for the upcoming economic integration of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). He said that those who have already adopted ISO 9001:2008 will be considered in transition for the new standards until 2017 when the old standards will be abolished in favor of 9001:2015.

Samal bridge DAVAO City -- The Davao City-Island Garden City of Samal bridge project will still have to wait a little longer as the National Economic Development Authority waits the result on the feasibility study on the project. Ma. Lourdes Lim, director of the NEDA 11 said the Davao Integrated Development Program-Project Management Office already completed the revision of the term of reference of the project and submitted it to the Department of Public Works and Highways national office. She said the DPWH is currently advocating for the project’s inclusion in the Philippine Development Program so that the feasibility study will be funded.
