Trade visits THIRTY trade attachés from Asian and Middle East countries are currently here in the city for official visit and to seek market opportunities for Davao City to their respective countries. Davao City Investment and Promotion Center (DCIPC) chief Lemuel Ortonio told reporters here on Thursday that the 30 trade attachés will also see potentials for investments in Davao City as a potential destination for business, trade and investments from the countries they represent. “The 30 trade attachés are here in the city to check the investment concerns of Davao. They will serve as our indirect marketing officers for investments in the international market,” Ortonio pointed out.

URIGAO City — Horrified by what she saw during a two-day aerial survey of mining operations in Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte and Dinagat Islands.

‘Halal hub’ COTABATO City -- To meet the growing demand for a “halal” port in the country, especially in Mindanao where the Muslims reside, Regional Governor Mujiv Hataman of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) has officially declared the Polloc Freeport and Ecozone in Maguindanao as “halal hub”, the first truly halal ecozone in the country. The freeport is located in Barangay Sarmiento, Parang, Maguindanao. “ T h e A R M M government is continually working to open the possibilities to the halal market in the region as well as in the country that serves as a gateway to the multi-trillion dollar halal industry,” Gov.
