DEPARTMENT of Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III cited on Monday the progress of the discussions on infrastructure and economic cooperation between the Philippines and Japan which demonstrates the strong commitment of the two countries to the “fast and sure” implementation of the Duterte administration’s flagship infrastructure projects. Dominguez said this latest meeting of the PhilippinesJapan High Level Committee on Infrastructure and Economic Cooperation, which is the fourth to be held since March 2017, has already addressed several concerns in only a short period of time. “I am convinced that, through our regular meetings, both our governments are prompted to deliver on our commitments and are encouraged to think of more innovative measures to improve our cooperation,” Dominguez said.
Rubber roadmap IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay -- The Rubber Industry Cluster Assessment and Planning Workshop was recently conducted at Sibugay Grand Plaza Hotel to assess its accomplishments for 2017 and to craft the Rubber Industry Action Plan for 2018. Various stakeholders composed of government line agencies, rubber industry players, farmers and traders attended the 2-day event to tackle issues affecting the rubber industry in ZamPen as well as the Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI) 2018 plans and programs. Mr. Rudy Mabalot, Regional Rubber Industry Cluster coordinator presented the consolidated 2017 accomplishments, achieving some targets but failing in some aspects due to some constraints. Ms. Rita I. Pilarca facilitated the assessment of accomplishments as well as analysis on constraints, gaps and needs in the Rubber Industry Value Chain.
