THIS was the message of Mayor Oscar Moreno in today’s (December 8, 2017) signing of Memorandum of Agreement between Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) and private hospitals here in Cagayan de Oro in the implementation of No Deposit Policy in relation to Republic Act 10932 or the Anti-Hospital Deposit Law. In his message, Mayor Oscar Moreno expressed his deep appreciation to Philhealth under the leadership of Datu Masiding M. Alonto, Jr., Area Vice President for Mindanao, for another milestone in healthcare insurance. The MOA signing is the first in the country, forging a good partnership between the government, private and public hospitals in giving the best and quality medical care the people of Cagayan de Oro needed. Alonto also lauded Mayor Moreno for his exemplary achievement in transforming JR Borja Hospital and utmost dedication in serving the Cagay-anons and the people of Misamis Oriental as well.

Aboitiz to add another 500mw power capacity

HE two major domestic airlines are bullish on the growth of the airfreight industry in Northern Mindanao over the next few years.

Righ-of-way BUILDING the infrastructure necessary for the VisayasMindanao Interconnectivity Project (VMIP) would be the easy part; securing a rightof-way access for these facilities is the challenge, said the spokesperson of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP). “Erecting the overhead lines and laying the submarine cables will be easy as long as the right of way is (settled) so we can keep the schedule,” Atty. Cynthia Alabanza said. The VMIP, which will integrate the two island regions with the rest of the national grid, will consist of 92 km. of submarine cables, 50 km. of overhead cables on the Visayas side, and 135 km. overhead cables on the Mindanao side.

D AVA O C i t y - - T h e construction of the segment of the Mindanao Railway project connecting three cities will start by third quarter of 2018, Mindanao Development Authority executive deputy director Romeo Montenegro said.

In an interview Tuesday, Montenegro said the government is still completing the detailed engineering of the first segment of the project, which has been identified as a flagship project of the Duterte administration. He said they expect

the detailed engineering of the railway system to be completed by the first semester of next year. Once completed, he said the government will then identify the contractor of the first segment worth P35.257 billion covering 102 kilometers starting from railway/PAGE 11
