Online tax payment

STARTING January 2017, taxpayers in Cagayan de Oro will experience comfort and convenience with the newest innovation of the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) -- the online tax payment and billing system. The online tax payment and billing system of City Hall can be accessed through the city’s official website, www. cagayandeoro.gov.ph. CTO Computer Division Chief Engr. Leonil Mistula said the new system aims to give ease to taxpayers when applying and paying for their business permit renewal or new application, including payment on real property tax and others such as building fees, traffic violation and market stall rental. Aside from online tax payment, taxpayers can also personally view and even print their tax billing as the system is capable of processing real time online tax assessment, anytime, anywhere as long as internet connection is available.

E-payment with DBP THE 18th City Council during its 20th Regular session enacted ordinances authorizing the city mayor of Cagayan de Oro to enter into several agreements with the Development Bank of the Philippines. The agreements involve the implementation of electronic payment systems, Point of Sale payment, Visa Credit & Debit Transactions, Point of Sale-Regular ATM/ Debit Transactions, Internet Payment Gateway-Visa and Internet Payment GatewayBancnet. Under the agreement, the City shall honor, without any discrimination, all valid cards when properly presented as payment from cardholders for the purchase of goods and/ or services at its accredited outlet.

ARELY recovering from the recent drought that hit the agriculture sector this year, large banana exporters in Mindanao will be faced with yet another problem in 2017 amid the looming stiffer competitions with other banana-growing nations now entering the Philippines’s traditional market like Japan.

THE Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) has declared that deposit insurance claims from depositors of the closed Xavier-Tibod Bank,

Cagayan de Oro’s XavierTibod Bank, Inc. recently closed down by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

Inc. (A Microfinance Bank) who have not filed their claims may be filed at the PDIC Public Assistance Center, 3rd Floor, SSS Bldg., 6782 Ayala Avenue corner V.A. Rufino Street, Makati City. Claims for deposit insurance may be filed until December 2, 2018. Claims may also be filed by mail. When filing deposit insurance claims at the PDIC Public Assistance C enter, depositors are required to submit their original evidence of deposit and present two (2) valid photo-bearing IDs with signature of the depositor directly to PDIC. DAVAO City – The Davao Durian Council Inc. has urged the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to construct a processing center worth P350 million to back the growing demand for durian in the global market. Davao Durian Council president Larry Miculob

said that they are proposing that a five-hectare durian processing center be erected beside the Agri-Pinoy Trading Center in Daliao, Toril here. He said that the DTI has yet to respond on their proposal which will include, among others, processing area, packaging area, and
