No firecrackers

DAVAO City -- Transporting firecrackers through Davao City is still prohibited in Davao City, according to Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio. “It is not allowed in the [ordinance],” the mayor emphasized. “The city government cannot even issue a permit to transport because the [ordinance] prohibits transporting firecrackers in Davao City.” The strict implementation of the ordinance will entail firecracker traders to look for other routes where they can transport their goods. The Davao City Ordinance No. 060-02 strictly prohibits even the possession of any firecracker, pyrotechnic devices and the likes within the city’s vicinity.
