TANDAG City – Despite admitting difficulty hitting the periodic monthly collection target for 2014 tax goal in Surigao del Sur, which is already seen to yield a deficit, Monib Dimakuta, Revenue District Office 106 (RDO 106) chief of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) here said that they still have something to be proud of—surpassing the tax goal set for last year. With a couple of days more left to fill in the collection gap, the BIR chief stressed that they can still manage to collect some more as the year end comes to a close. Meanwhile, Dimakuta claimed that as of November 25, 2014, during the holding of the 11th Regional Staff Conference at BIR Regional Training Center in Butuan City, his office has posted a cumulative under-collection of P51,621,412.89 or equivalent to -8.41 percent for the period starting from January – October 2014.
