Bangsamoro office MARAWI City -- The newlyrefurbished building of the Office of the Regional Governor (ORG) in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) located in Cotabato City was inaugurated Wednesday, July 30, in an occasion that is festive and symbolic of the present administration’s brand of leadership. ARMM Governor Mujiv Hataman, who led the inauguration, said they are formally renaming the building as the Office of the Bangsamoro People to emphasize a propeople and inclusive leadership. “Gusto nating iparamdam na itong opisina ay hindi lamang office ng Regional Governor. Opisina ‘to ng ating mga kababayan at kabahagi sila dito,” he said. Hataman said the 32-hectare compound housing the different offices of the ARMM government will now be called the Bangsamoro People’s Complex.
NORTHERN Mindanao economy posted a 5.6 percent growth in 2013, according to the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB). However, the growth was lower than the 7.2 percent growth recorded by the region in 2012, Brenda Lynn M. Castro, Statistical Coordination Officer IV of the NSCB-10, said in a news conference today. Castro said the slowdown w a s at t r i b u t e d t o t h e decelerated growths in the Industry and Service sectors. Although the Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing (AHFF) sector experienced acceleration with a growth
of 3.2 percent from 2.5 percent in 2012, she said its improved performance was not enough to sustain the region’s economic growth as the two major sectors showed decelerated growths. The Service sector grew at a slower pace in 2013 at 5.9 percent compared to its 8.8 percent growth in 2012 while the Industry sector slowed down from 8.9 percent in 2012 to 7.0 percent in 2013. All the subsectors in Services, except Financial Intermediation and Other services, posted decelerated growths. Financial Intermediation grew faster economy/PAGE 7
