Local crisis body KINOGUITAN, Misamis Oriental --Provincial Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano of Misamis Oriental has reactivated the province’s local crisis committee to work for the possible release of a police officer assigned in the provincial command. Emano took a break from a hectic campaign schedule to visit this town where SPO4 Rene Rombo, 42, was seized in a check point set up by the communist New People’s Army (NPA) last Sunday morning. He said that he would not hesitate to leave the campaign trail to devote some time to secure the release of Rombo.“The life of any single individual should take priority over anything else,” Emano said.
Biz industry survey BUTUAN City -- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services Office XIII (Caraga) will be conducting the 2015 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) and its rider survey, the 2015 Survey on Information and Communication Technology (SICT). The 2015 ASPBI aims to collect and generate information on the levels, structure, performance and trends of economic activities of the formal sector in the entire country while the 2015 SICT will generate information on the availability, distribution and access/utilization of ICT among establishments. Specifically, the 2015 ASPBI aims to collect and generate detailed information on employment, income, expense, inventories, tangible fixed assets, intangible assets and total assets of the establishments; generate indicators such as value added, labor productivity, average compensation and others necessary to evaluate the performance of industries at the national and regional levels; generate MSME (micro, small and medium establishments/ enterprises) data using total employment; and gather information for the improvement of the list of establishments and enterprises.

ILLANUEVA, Misamis Oriental – Mindanao’s biggest coal-fired power plant has expressed commitment to help ensure a steady and sufficient power supply for the coming presidential election in May this year.

Dr. Bodo Goerlich said SPI had already taken steps to ensure uninterrupted power generation during the summer season and most especially throughout the May 2016 elections.
