Sarangani Energy Corp. (SEC), which is set to complete its $600-million 210-megawatt (MW) coal power plant in 2016, has signed up another company that will use part of the capacity to be generated by the facility. SEC and Zamboanga del Sur I Electric Cooperative Inc. (Zamsureco I) reported to the Energy Regulatory Commission that they recently signed a 25year power sales agreement. SEC’s power station comprises two units, each with a capacity of about 105 MW.

IDDING for the P14.62-billion expansion program for the Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental will start this month by the Department of Transportation and Communication, Rep. Rufus Rodriguez said. Cagayan de Oro second district Rep. Rodriguez said the expansion program will include the construction of an additional passenger terminal building; its operation and maintenance; and development of its apron, runway and taxiway.

During the Regional Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Administrators’ Conference held in one of the local convention centers here, the Regional Directors of the Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) personally discussed their specific programs under the K to 12 curriculum. DepEd OIC regional director Dr. Rebecca Delapuz presented the update of the Senior High School implementation in the region. The official underscored that DepEd-Caraga’s goal is to have at least two public Senior High Schools per city and one per municipality in 2016.
