Briefly Mindanao's high power cost ZAMBOANGA City – Manila Mayor and Aksyon Demokratiko standardbearer, Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, has vowed to address Mindanao's power supply problem, promising to lower costs under his administration. Lawyer Robbie Pierre Roco, Aksyon Demokratiko party vice president, said Friday Moreno will cut the tax for power and fuel by as much as 50 percent to bring down the cost of electricity. “In Mindanao, the power supply is the problem. Mayor Isko will not only solve this, but he will also provide dependable, reliable, and low-cost electricity,” Roco said in a press conference.
Price freeze DAVAO City – Following the declaration of a state of calamity late last week, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Davao de Oro issued a price freeze advisory on various goods Monday. “The prices of basic necessities shall automatically be frozen at their prevailing prices or placed under automatic price control for the period of sixty 60 days unless sooner lifted,” DTIDavao de Oro said on its official Facebook Page. Among the products identified are canned goods, processed milk, coffee, instant noodles, salt, detergent, toilet and laundry soaps, bottled water, condiments, and batteries.

MisOr eases restrictions on poultry products

ISAMISOriental's Provincial Veterinary Office ( Pro Ve t ) a n n ou n c e d Monday it has eased the restrictions on poultry products entering the pro v i n c e a s l ong a s these are pre-cooked or processed.
Dr. B enjamin Resma, the provincial veterinarian, said the changes were implemented based on the new executive order of Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano, which made exemptions on the kind of poultry products that may be brought into the province. “Right now, we allow cooked, processed poultry and by poultry products. But fresh, live, especially eggs and fertilized duck eggs (balut), we still prohibit them from entering the province,” he said. ILO, Japan fund water NP deploys 1.2K cops to secure projects in Mindanao Holy Week activities in NorMin ELEVEN water sub-projects were completed in Mindanao following a three-year partnership between Japan and the International Labour Organization (ILO). “This may be the last of our 11 water system subprojects with the ILO, but the assistance of the people of Japan to the Bangsamoro region will not end here. We are determined to keep our active contributions going
until we see a very peaceful and progressive region that the Bangsamoro people truly deserve,” Japanese Ambassador Koshikawa Kazuhiko said in a statement. T H E Po l i c e R e g i o n a l Office-10 (PRO-10) said Monday it has deployed 1,223 uniformed personnel to monitor the peace and order during the Holy Week obs er vance t hroug hout Northern Mindanao. Lt. Col. Michelle Olaivar, spokesperson of PRO-10, said the personnel will be safeguarding activities in 181 churches and 58 religious and pilgrimage sites region-wide.
Most of the deployment were in this city with 491 personnel, followed by the province of Misamis Oriental with 171, Olaivar said in an interview. With the recent easing of restrictions in most local government units in the region, PRO-10 is expecting an influx of locals and tourists visiting the region during the Lenten season. M a j . Ramadan work sked COTABATO City – Civil servants in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) are now allowed to go home from work at 3:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. BARMM Chief Minister Ahod “Murad” Ebrahim on Monday also modified the working hours of officials and employees during the fasting month of Ramadan. Fasting from sunrise to dusk by able-bodied Muslims started on April 3 and will end on May 2.
