Davao Light imposes four-hour power cut off
DAVAO City ––Davao Light and Power Co.(DLPC) started Thursday imposing a maximum of three to four hours of rotating power interruptions in this city and franchise areas in Davao del Norte. This developed after the Therma South Inc. (TSI) coal plant shut down for an unscheduled repair. The TSI coal plant is still under
commissioning stage. Davao Light gets 60 megawatts from TSI to mitigate the power deficit for the past weeks. CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan De Oro City–– The military on Thursday announced the holding of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) entrance examinations in various testing centers in North and Northeastern Mindanao regions on August 2. Capt. Patrick Martinez, spokesperson of the Army’s 4th Infantry Division here, said that the PMA exam would be in Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan De Oro in Northern Mindanao while the examination in Northeastern Mindanao in the Caraga Region would be in Agusan National High School in Butuan City. Walk-in applicants may start applying on August 1 (Saturday) at the Army Recruitment Office (ARO) in Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The applicants must bring any valid ID. Tesda to hold synchronized national free assessment to all skilled workers CAGAYAN de Oro City-The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will be undertaking a nationwide synchronized Competency Assessment and Certification (NATCAC) to cater to skilled workers, trainers and Tech-Voc graduates nationwide on July 31, 2015. In Northern Mindanao region, the assessment will
be held in selected Tesda assessment centers while the main Regional NATCAC hub will be at COBSAT, Bugo, Cagayan de Oro City. The NATCAC is intended to: (i) Sustain continuous people’s awareness and acceptance of the assessment and certification program; (ii) Promote industry acceptance and recognition of the value of certification in
quality assuring the competencies of their workers; (iii) Upgrade the qualification of existing workers, trainers and assessors to a higher level of qualification; and (iv) Enhance the competitiveness and employability of workers. One of the highlights is the videoconferencing to showcase synchronized conduct of assessment through
the Regional NaTCAC hubs. During the opening, our Region X NaTCAC Hub will be connected via livestreaming to the Central office and the rest of the regions in the country.
