Sangguniang Panlalawigan employees undergo Writing and Research training

ISAMIS OR I E N TA L - Wit h t he aim of enhancing the oral and written communication skills, including the capability for research and policy development of the employees of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Misamis Oriental, VICE GOVERNOR JOEY G. PELAEZ enlisted selected employees to the Intensive Grammar and Technical Writing, and Legal Research and Policy Development Course.

The Xavier University Center for Languages (XUCL) offered its program to the Office of the Vice Governor and Sangguniang Panlalawigan, more particularly for the Local Legislative Staff Officers and Assistants.

The training program covers thirty (30) hours consisting of twenty-five (25) hours Intensive Grammar and Technical Writing Course and five (5) hours of Legal Research and Policy Development. It started last

10 October 2014.

Before allowing the twenty-five (25) employees to undergo the training, Vice Governor Pelaez made them sign an undertaking which required them to attend all classes, apply their learning to their work, improve on their work performance and pass the final assessment conducted by the trainers. Said undertaking also prohibits them from being late or absent or from leaving class before the prescribed time.

I m m e d i at e l y a f t e r the first two days, Vice Governor Pelaez received positive feedback. Ms. Eulien Muñez, a Local Legislative Officer and participant of the training, said that the training is very relevant and timely. “It refreshes our minds with new developments in the English language.

The trainer made it easy for us to understand. It is really helpful since we are faced everyday with paper works in the office especially in making reports, drafting resolutions and ordinances. It

The training will end on 22 October 2014.
