A GROUP of environment activists has urged government to legally divert the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel to fund measures that will “climate-proof ” the Philippines. “The pork barrel should be abolished and its fund should be rechannelled to operationalize ‘climate priority’ policies and programs such as the People’s Mining Bill, the One Million Solar Roofs Bill and the National Flood Management Master

Plan, which will improve our climate resiliency and reduce climate changerelated disasters in the Philippines,” the Kalikasan People’s Network for the Environment (Kalikasan PNE) said in a statement emailed to the Business Daily.
