SM Lanang Premier opens Kadayawan with month-long Durian Fest

THE Rotary International District 3870 will hold a whole-day seminar today at Grand Caprice Restaurant and Convention Center in Cagayan de Oro City covering three topics – The Rotary Foundation, Membership and Public Image, all for the purpose of sustaining Rotary’s mission of service to the community and the world.

Registration booths will open at 7:30 a.m. but the seminar itself will start at 9:00 a.m. The District Seamless Seminar will be hosted by Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro under President Dodie Lagrosas. The chairman of the event is PresidentElect Tonyboy Fernandez. The club has invited the best speakers in Philippine Rotary to give updates, inspiration and motivation to achieve Rotary goals in serving humanity this Rotary year. “I strongly urge all Rotarians in the district to participate in this endeavor because a good Rotarian is See seminar, page A11

ROTARY CLUB OF CAGAYAN DE ORO CONDUCTS “BALIK ESKWELA”PROJECT AT GUSA. The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro, together with the Rotary Anns, successfully implemented the Balik Eskwela Project at the Philippine Sinter Corporation Clubhouse, Villa Ernesto Subdivision, Gusa last July 23, 2016. Project Chairman PAG John Mark Sarraga, together with RCCDO President Dufel Lagrosas, Ann President Rosalinda Caragos, Assistant Governor and IPP Cris Parojinog, with 20 plus other Rotary members and Anns, distributed school supplies and other gifts to the children of the Sunshine Day Care Center – which was also located inside the subdivision.

From August 5 to September 4, 2016, SM Lanang Premier hails the ‘King of Fruits’ with a festival to support to the city’s much-anticipated Kadayawan celebration. The Kadayawan Durian Festival showcases the bountiful produce of key players in Davao’s durian industry. Already on its third year, it is the mall’s way of increasing patronage for the agricultural harvest of the local farmers. The many varieties of durian being grown in the region are also highlighted in the festival.
