NAGMAC magnifies glimpses of literature’s future in CdeO By Angelo Lorenzo

“Sa giyera sa amo’ng baryo, lubog ako’ng paglaom (In the war in my town, my hope has sunk),” recited Marie Claire Balase when she performed one of the poems she wrote about the children affected by the war in Syria. Balase, a Preschool Education major from Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, was one among the performers during the Poetry Night by the Nagkahiusang Magsusulat sa Cagayan de Oro (NAGMAC) on Saturday evening at the Skyhi Cinema along JR Borja St., CDO. NAGMAC is one of the current active organizations in CDO that focuses on literature. It seeks and gathers writers in the region to hone their craft in their respective genres by conducting workshops and occasional spokenword events such as the
