Zubiri affirmed as new RDC Chair CHENG ORDOÑEZ, Section Editor

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- The Regional Development Council of Northern Mindanao (RDC-10) expressed, during the August 25, 2016 RDC reorganization meeting, its affirmation and support to Bukidnon Governor Jose Maria Zubiri, Jr. as RDC-10 Chairperson for the term 2016-2019. Governor Zubiri conveyed appreciation for the members’ support and vowed to fight against criminality, graft and corruption, and poverty in the region. Describing himself as a hands-on government official, he urged everyone to work together especially in providing livelihood for the people. He reiterated that, under his headship, changes in the RDC processes will be introduced to make the Council be more effective and truly responsive to the needs of the LGUs. MANILA -- The Department of Finance (DOF) has put up a website on the proposed implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of Republic Act 10863, otherwise known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act of 2016 (CMTA). Stakeholders can access information about the IRR and recommend changes or improvements through the microsite at www.dof.gov. ph/cmta.irr, or by emailing the CMTA Project Manage-

ment Office at cmta.irr. pmo@customs.gov.ph and cmta_irr@dof.gov.ph. Designed to modernize Bureau of Customs (BOC) rules and procedures, the CMTA’s objectives are to facilitate trade, cut red tape and corruption, and improve the delivery of BOC-related services.
