CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- The Organization of Socialized and Economic Housing Developers of the Philippines (OSHDP) has urged the government to simplify permit processing, thereby shortening the time needed to apply and secure permits during its 7th National Convention, which started Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at N Hotel, Kauswagan Highway, here. CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Addressing housing shortage in Philippine cities due to rapid urban migration was the center of discussions in the three-day 7th Organization of Social Housing Developers of the Philippines convention which started Wednesday here. OSHDP president George Richard P. Siton said that 1.5 million Filipinos living in the cities do not have adequate shelter. Of these, 600,000 are staying in Metro Manila. OSHDP members numbered more than a hundred and consist of the biggest names in the realty sector in the country
including Fiesta Communities, Johndorf Ventures and Lumina Homes, among others. Also discussed was the state of communities affected in the 2011 Sendong disaster which hit this city hard, killing 1,147 persons. Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Hon. Oscar Moreno welcomes the Organization of Socialized and Economic Housing Developers of the Philippines (OSHDP) Board of Directors and members during the opening of its 7th national convention at N Hotel, CDO on August 24.
