Normin’s drug drive kills 11, arrests 332 By CRIS DIAZ Executive Editor
CAMP Alagar, Cagayan de Oro City--Eleven, including a police officer, were killed while 332 were arrested as the police carried legitimate anti-illegal drug operations in Northern Mindanao, a police official said Saturday. Drug war helps keep crime rates down: Bato By GERRY LEE GORIT Correspondent
CAGAYAN de Oro City-Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa announced on Friday that crime incidents all over the country has decreased by as much as 49 percent. Dela Rosa attributed the reduction of crime incidents to the intensified police operations against illegal drugs. “This only goes to show that most of these crimes that are happening in our communities are drug-related. That’s why when we focused our resources and attention on the drug problem, crimes also dropped,” dela Rosa said in his speech before hundreds of police officers at the police regional headquarters at Camp Vicente Alagar on Friday afternoon.
