SAN Francisco, Agusan del Sur––Some 50 lumad families in the remote sub village of Talacogon town fled their homes for fear of being caught in crossfire when Army soldiers occupied their homes and set up temporary camp. Reports said a platoon of Army soldiers belonging to 26th Infantry Battalion have been living inside the lumad community since July 11 to conduct Community Organizing for Peace and Development (COPD). But their presence stirred fear among Manobo villagers saying their lives could be imperiled if ever the New Peoples Army rebels will pass by and may cause armed hostilities. Martial Law fears allayed By Jelly F. Musico of PNA
THE Malacañang on Wednesday allayed fears that President Rodrigo R. Duterte would declare martial law amid the intensified campaign against illegal drugs. Ako, presidente. Ako may trabaho, ikaw wala. If this continues, pigilan mo ako eh ‘di sige. ‘Pag nagwala na... or would you rather
