IMPASUG-ONG, Bukidnon --The military unleashed the “elite K-9 team” to track down the New People’s Army (NPA) responsible for the roadblocks along the highways here Sunday morning. Capt. Norman Tagros, the spokesperson of the army’s 8th Infantry Battalion (8IB), said that the special tracking team is backed by the combined forces of the police and the military. Tagros said that about 20 NPA rebels reportedly seized three police officers in a roadblock established along the Sayre Highway in Bukidnon about 6 a.m. Sunday. The police regional command identified the capture police personnel as SPO1 Warren Hansol Coñales, P03 Edwin Panis Castor, SPO4 Rene Rombo, PFC Glenn Austia and PFC Diven Abion Tawide. Capt. Patrick Martinez, the spokesperson of the army’s 4th Infantry Division here, also confirmed the seizure of PFCs Glenn Austia and Diven Abion Tawide, all members of the 23rd Infantry Battalion in Agusan Del Norte.
