Rotary Int’l District 3870 holds SAULOG! DISCON 2017 By Rtn Joe Palabao
THE ROTARY DISCTRICT 3870 is holding this year’s District Conference in Valencia City, Bukidnon dubbed as SAULOG 2017!. DISCON 2017 will be attended by some five hundred (500) rotarians who are executives, professionals, business and community leaders from all over Mindanao. Seen as one of the most prestigious event, the Rotary International District 3870 33rd Conference at the City of Golden Harvest Valencia, Province of Bukidnon starts today April 29, and would wind up until May 1, 2017. Hosting the conference is the ever dynamic and active Rotary Club of Metro Valencia (RCMV), and the Local Government Unit of the City.
Under the leadership of District Governor Meriam Ruth “Jing” Dablio dela Calzada, DISCON 2017 appropriately themed SAULOG! which means to celebrate, serves as the biggest gathering and festive culmination of District 3870 as it wraps up another Rotary Year of “Service Above Self ”. Governor Jing dela Calzada will be joined by Rotary International President’s Representative (RIPR) Rolando “Oyan” Villanueva, a Past District Governor of District 3790 as the Keynote Speaker of the DISCON 2017. SAULOG! DISCON 2017 is chaired by Atty. Malowe C. Selecios. THE Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in Northern Mindanao is expected to grant another wage increase within the next 30 days. RTWPB 10 chair Joffrey Soyao disclosed this over the weekend, saying that the board is currently deliberating on the petition of the Associated Labor Union – Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (ALU-TUCP) for a P168 wage increase.
