CAGAYAN de Oro City--The local police command here is now in the thick of preparations in anticipation of the scheduled Asean Summit in this trading capital of Northern Mindanao come July 2017.
In an interview with Mindanao Daily News, Chief Inspector Mardi Hortilloza, the spokesperson of the Cagayan De Oro City Police Command Office (COCPO), said that the local police in coordination with other law enforcement agencies has doubled its
efforts in securing the city. “The police had already mapped out an initial contingency plan, which could be changed when the actual days and the number of participants could be determined,” Hortilloza said. He said that the local police command received
an initial report that about 150 delegates would be participating the scheduled summit here in July 2017. Hortilloza said that securing 150 delegates from various Asean countries, local technocrats, industrialists and stakeholders is no joke at all.

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur-The provincial government will build a bigger drug rehabilitation center in San Francisco town that will cater more than a hundred patients in the proposed P350 million facilities funded by the Chinese government through the
Department of Health. Gov. Adolph Edward Plaza said the province has already submitted the requirements to the Department of Health for the proposed new drug rehab center that will be built in the four-hectare lot of the provincial government in Alegria village at the foot and buffer zone of Mt. Magdiwata. Agusan del Sur is one of the two
recipients of multi-million drug rehab center projects in Mindanao. The other province is Sarangani. The existing Residential Treatment Rehabilitation Center (RTRC) inside the Army camp of 401st Brigade which serves at least 6o patients will be transferred to the new proposed venue. Plaza said the proposed new drug rehab center is complete with all
amenities including sports facilities, a clinic counselling session rooms and sleeping quarters. The governor said the DOH has even offered a 500 patients capacity facility but he declined since such huge number of patients is too much to handle and maintain. Approval of ‘drug-free’ City Hall pushed By CRIS DIAZ Executive Editor
CAGAYAN de oro City-The City Council here has endorsed the approval of an ordinance that would promote a drug-free workplace at the City Hall. City Councilor Edna M. Dahino, the proponent of the ordinance, said that the law would cover all City Hall employees and elected public officials who would be required to submit to a a random and mandatory drug test. The ordinance shall be known as th4e Drug Free Workplace Ordinance of 2017, Dahino said. She said that ordinance mandates that voluntary drug testing shall be undertaken against all contractual and regular employees, including persons already hired and working under contract of services or job order. THE San Miguel Brewery, Inc., a subsidiary of San Miguel Corporation, made a historical ground breaking for its new brewery in Barangay Sta. Ana, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental on Tuesday (April 25).
