GENERAL Santos City-World boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao will receive another grand hero’s welcome here and nearby Sarangani Province when he returns home after his dominating win on Sunday against American champion Timothy Bardley in Las Vegas.

City Mayor Ronnel Rivera said Monday the preparations are now underway for Pacquiao’s homecoming, which was initially scheduled on Thursday. He said the local government is giving the highest honor to Pacquiao for again bringing the city and the entire country to the global consciousness. “He deserves a hero’s welcome. Power supply to normalize by end of April

BUGAS, DI BALA. A handful of advocates of land reform and farmers’ empowerment held a twilight rally on Friday, April 8 at the Magsaysay Park in Cagayan de Oro City. The rally was held in the wake of the death of three farmers and a police officer at a protest rally in Kidapawan City, Northern Cotabato on April 1st and a subsequent senate investigation on the incident on Thursday, March 7. The rallyists called for justice for the farmers killed and injured at a rally and the immediate release of the P53-billion funds to mitigate the impacts of the El Nino phenomenon on the agricultural sector.
