We are SUBTURA Visual + Structure, an initiative based on Visual-Graphics, Architecture, and Product-Interior Design initiated by married couple - Wahyu Amikarsa and Dila Ps with a background in Visual Arts and Architecture, that has been developed into a collaborative with members from various study backgrounds.
Since we were present in early 2015, we will always strive to be your closest colleagues, friends, and relatives who can fully realize various new ideas that can become even innovations in the creative realm, from the design-planning stage to the production-build stage of physical execution. A FUTURE OF ELECTRICY COMPANY
Starting the year with a project that is far from our home base is a blessing as well as a challenge for us. Even though we have worked on projects outside Surabaya and also beyond the island of Java several times, we will always double the benchmarks and reference standards to better understand the background of the design requirements whenever such an opportunity arises.
The Customer Service Implementation Unit (Unit Pelaksana Pelayanan Pelanggan) called UP3 is a PLN work unit that is oriented towards direct customer satisfaction. Based on it, we use an approach that is based on modern public space with the interactive-intelligent as a keyword.
In this project, using electronic devices as the main element in interior design was eventually applied to exterior or facade designs. We use the placement of various light decorations to add to the impression of "advanced future", which is always attached to the branding of PLN as the parent company wants to display. Some of Papua's local representatives are also represented through the graphics on the murals and several decorative elements, including plants, which we recommend using.

A SIMPLE VERSATILE
The client is a couple of young families who are interested in owning several residences in one city. One of the types of housing that they prefer is the studio apartment, where the residential unit can have a high economic value for rent and can still be used for them to stop over occasionally. The request to store all types of furniture (from kitchen set to work desk) in a bedroom-oriented space was the solution we had to find for this project.
Studio apartments are small dwellings that are starting to be in high demand in Indonesia, from young families to college students. The use of forms and finishing materials that are quite simple, versatile, and maintenance-free is the key to designing a lot of furniture in a fairly small room for all ages of users. The harmony of colors and patterns is also at the core of ambiance, and in this case, we are aiming for a calm, chilled, and natural feel.

LAUNDRY & COFFEE
This time, a family-owned laundry business in west Surabaya took the initiative to expand its category into F&B. A waiting area facility for their laundry customers, which at the same time can enable them to buy some food or beverages, is the main problem that we have to solve architecturally, interiorly, and also in terms of visual branding. The unification of the room atmosphere and visual decoration elements is the basis for forming the design concepts, including the shape of building facades, which are also continuously connected.
By using various elements of colour and shape in the laundry area, which are then processed into the basics of the visual character that will be appointed, we are quite successful in achieving a balance between two different business lines. The client's desire to add two washing machines (which are used to increase the amount of laundry revenue) has become a unique decoration corner in the coffee shop counter area. Visual branding with a simple style and mono colour can finally be fully used to become the main standard for their whole business.

A VISUAL+ STRUCTURE HOUSE
Our main house / studio / shop / laboratory / "kitchen" is located at Pucang Sawit no. 56, Surabaya. A classic house left by our co-founder (Dila Permatasari) grandparents, is an amazing building that is more than 40 years old but still has 70% of its original features and materials. For the best development solution, slowly but progressively, we continue to do to maintain and preserve this building. The sharing of connected layouts (with our other business groups) also contributes to its uniqueness in producing original spatial power. In this building that continues to expand, we hope that we can also grow in terms of personality and character, as well as the ability to become a highly creative group.
The main design concept is combining the original architectural elements of the building, which tend to lead to mid-century themes, with the simplicity of modern technology today. The selection of the type of furniture and lighting design is also oriented towards the large number of users who carry out various types of activities every day for quite a long time (especially during overtime). The separation of work and play areas is also emphasized so that the flow of movement in the building becomes quite dynamic. In the future, we will continue to develop this building following the new ideas that we find in every experiment related to styles, materials, and methods in the DESPLAN and PROBUILD processes that we do every day.

Apart from referring to the final color of the finish, the architecture is oriented towards a balance between close and open. The Guest House is essentially a collection of private spaces that will dominate the layout. The client's desire to maximize the number of room units (including for additional buildings in the east zone), is precisely the reason for optimizing the function and appearance of public spaces and corridors as circulation access. The decision to determine the dimensions of each area or room in an irregular-shaped land must also be considered appropriately so that the placement of furniture can also support the optimization of these public spaces.

Education, in the context of activities (learning), is an activity that is inseparable from the daily lives of modern humans. In fact, learning is an activity that falls into the category of being quite physically static. Interestingly, even though it is far from being in the dynamic category, the spatial experience produced by an architectural or interior work can contribute to the success of the activity.
On a campus with a large number of students and also various faculty departments, general course learning activities will cause challenges in the arrangement of space details and furniture. Here, we are trying to understand how the main users (i.e., students and lecturers) are related to the possible duration of room use, both short and long.
