Introduction
Welcome to the fourth edition of the Submarine Cable Almanac, one of our most popular reference tools. In the months since Issue 3 was released, 59 Entries were updated with new information, 9 systems were added and 2 systems are now defunct.
In the following pages you will find a detailed list of major international submarine cable systems--more than 250 systems in all. This document serves as complement to our annual Cable Map and Submarine Cable Indsutry Report.
We hope that you, our readers, will participate in this almanac as you’ve done with our previous products. There is always room for additional data, so let us know if there is something else we should include in future editions. Please let us know by completing our Submarine Almanac Update Form, available by clicking here, or by emailing almanac@subtelforum.com.
Finally, I want to thank all of the sponsors, staff and dedicated readers that contributed to this Almanac. Your feedback has been invaluable. Specifically, I want to thank Stewart Ash, Derek Cassidy, Willy Davidson, Martha Etsibah, John Hibbard, Takashi Kodama, Larry Schwartz, Ras Scollay, Horace Sookdeo, and Christian von der Ropp for submitting corrections to previous editions of this Almanac.
