2017 Festival Tops All Others

Doug Deming Photo by Rick Davis Our Eighth Annual Crossroads Blues Festival at Lyran Park was a huge success and exceeded expectations on all accounts! A record crowd came out for what some called our best festival yet

and a few even ventured that they had never seen a one day fest that was better from top to bottom.

We appreciate the love we got from our fest attendees; while we may not really have been the hottest thing ever, we do agree that it was a great day all around and that the music, crowd, beer, food and setting could not be beat!

The Kinsey Report was on stage prior to Doug and they have never been funkier! The performance by brothers Donald, Ralph and Kenny, along with band mate Andy was out of this world and had the crowd on their feet dancing!

Our totals over 15 years are now 244 programs for over 58,000 students. 30 different sets of artists have done these programs in 90 schools within 15 school districts along with Head Start Facilities, and several private schools and community

BITS Planning Has Begun in Earnest The 2016/2017 school year saw us do 61 programs for 7,300 plus students. We did 25 Head Start and 4 other preschool programs, 12 residency programs, 2 library programs and 18 assemblies.

facilities. That is pretty impressive! We kicked off this new school year with Ron Holm and Steve Jones at the Head Start Program annual kickoff. We have three sets of artists with specific dates available and may other dates in the works.  Friday. October 6th two programs with Dave Fields and his band  Wednesday, October 25th two programs with Gerry Hundt and Ronnie Shellist

Tuesday, January 9th and Wednesday, January 10th we have 2 programs with Tas Cru and His Band of Tortured Souls

It’s going to be another great year for us!

 

Advanced ticket sales neared 2,000 331 paid at the door Sponsor and give away tickets about 400 86 volunteers worked the event 27 sponsors donated just over $6,000 10 in-kind sponsors donated many thousands of dollars of value in support 6 food vendors and 5 merchandise vendors offered value and variety We served 34 types of beers and wines, numbering over 4,500 in total sales 190 tee shirts sold Everyone had a great time!!!
