Embrace Spring’s Spirit: Fashion Styles for Mom

Find the perfect gift for mother’s day

As the flowers start to bloom and the days grow longer, it is time to refresh our wardrobes and embrace the vibrant spirit of spring fashion. The approach of the spring season means Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate the amazing moms and mother figures in our lives than by giving them the gift of style.

This season, mothers are in for a treat with an array of bold prints, bright colors, and innovative designs that capture the essence of spring. Whether they are looking to make a statement or simply want to feel refreshed and stylish, spring

2025 has something for every type of mom out there! Whether she is always on the go, loves a bit of glam, thrives in the corporate world, or embraces the latest trends, or is a combination of all like me, the perfect gift does exist for making her day extra special.

For the On-the-Go Mom

For the mother who is always busy and constantly moving from one task to another. This type of mom often juggles multiple responsibilities, such as work, household chores, and taking care of her children. She values practicality and efficiency in her daily routine, and stylish

yet functional accessories can make her life easier and more fashionable. Consider a chic tote bag or a pair of comfortable yet fashionable sneakers that can make her daily routine both easier and more stylish. Look for items that combine functionality with a touch of elegance.

The Glam Mom

A “glam mom” refers to a mother who loves a bit of glamour and enjoys indulging in luxurious products or statement pieces. This type of mom appreciates high-quality items that add a touch of sparkle to her day. It is all about making her feel pampered and

appreciated, with gifts that reflect her love for elegance and sophistication. If your mom loves a bit of glam, why not treat her to some luxurious beauty products or a statement piece of jewelry? A high-quality lipstick or a dazzling necklace can add a touch of sparkle to her special day.

Corporate Chic

For the mom who thrives in the corporate world, consider gifts that enhance her professional wardrobe. A tailored blazer, a sophisticated handbag, or a pair of elegant heels can elevate her office style. The key is to choose pieces that are both timeless and versatile, ensuring she can mix and match them with her existing wardrobe.

Trendsetter Mom

If your mom loves to stay ahead of the fashion curve, opt for trendy pieces that

reflect the latest styles. From bold prints to statement accessories, there are plenty of options to choose from. Keep an eye out for the season’s must-have items and surprise her with something that highlights her fashion-forward sense.

The secret is to pick gifts that capture your mother’s essence and make her feel unique, regardless of her preferred style. Embracing the lively energy of the season and showcasing personal flair are the main goals of spring fashion. There is something for everyone to like because of the wide variety of colors, designs, and patterns available. Spring 2025 is the ideal season to update Mom’s appearance so she can go out with confidence, whether that means adding trendy pieces to her wardrobe or trying out new style methods. Make a fashion statement that captures mom’s

distinct personality on Mother’s Day and express your gratitude with a thoughtful and fashionable gift that she will treasure.

Blossom into Wellness Embracing Spring for a Healthier You

Spring is a season of renewal and rejuvenation, making it the perfect time to focus on wellness. As nature awakens from its winter slumber, the longer days and warmer weather provides an ideal backdrop for embracing what I strive for most, a healthier lifestyle. The vibrant colors and fresh scents of blooming flowers, coupled with the increased opportunities for outdoor activities, can significantly enhance both our physical and mental well-being. By taking advantage of the unique benefits that spring offers, we can embark on a journey towards improved health and happiness, setting the tone for a vibrant and fulfilling year ahead.

Physical Wellness:

With longer days and warmer weather, spring is an exciting time to get outside and be active. Activities like walking, jogging, cycling, and gardening can help improve physical health. The fresh air and sunshine can also boost your mood and provide essential vitamin D. Spring offers a variety of exercise options that can keep your fitness routine exciting and enjoyable. You can try hiking, playing sports, or even join outdoor fitness classes. The key is to find activities that you enjoy and that keep you motivated to stay active. Gardening is a wonderful way to combine

physical activity with the joy of nurturing plants. It involves various movements like bending, digging, and lifting, which can help improve flexibility, strength, and overall fitness. Plus, it provides a sense of accomplishment and connection to nature.

Engaging in physical activities with friends or family can enhance your social connections and make exercising more enjoyable. Group activities like playing tennis, going for group walks, or participating in community sports events can provide both physical and social benefits. Spring is also a wonderful time to

focus on activities that promote the mindbody connection, such as yoga and tai chi. These practices not only improve physical strength and flexibility but also enhance mental clarity and relaxation.

Mental Wellness:

Spring's natural beauty can have a positive impact on mental health. The blooming flowers, green trees, and singing birds can lift spirits and reduce stress. It is also a suitable time to practice mindfulness and meditation, taking advantage of the peaceful outdoor settings. Mindfulness involves being present in the moment and

appreciating the beauty around you, which can help reduce stress and enhance overall well-being. The peaceful outdoor settings provide a perfect backdrop for this practice. Spending time in nature during spring can be incredibly therapeutic. The vibrant colors and fresh scents of blooming flowers can stimulate the senses and promote a sense of calm and relaxation. Activities like walking in the park, or hiking can help reduce anxiety and improve one’s mood.

Self-Care:

Spring is a perfect time to focus on self-care. Whether it is taking a relaxing bath, reading an enjoyable book, or spending time in nature, self-care activities can help recharge your batteries and improve your overall well-being. Embracing self-care during this season can lead to improved mental clarity, reduced stress, and a greater sense of overall happiness, setting a positive tone for the months ahead. Spring is an ideal time to prioritize self-care, especially when it comes to my personal favorite, skincare.

As the weather transitions from the cold, dry winter to the warmer, more humid spring, your skin's needs change as well. Spring is a perfect time to exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin cells that have accumulated over the winter. This can help reveal a fresher, more radiant complexion. I highly recommend INNATA Skincare’s Exfoliating Face Scrub. It is designed to gently exfoliate the skin, leaving it smooth and revitalized. Incorporating this product into your skincare routine can help you achieve a glowing complexion just in time for the spring season.

INNATA Skincare’s Vitamin Citrus Serum is a fantastic addition to your spring skincare routine. This serum is designed to incorporate antioxidants into your skincare regimen, which can help protect your skin from environmental damage. Vitamin C in the serum brightens your skin and reduces the appearance of dark spots, making it an excellent choice for achieving a radiant complexion during the spring season.

In conclusion, the spring season offers us a unique opportunity to embrace wellness in all its forms. The natural renewal and rejuvenation that comes with spring can inspire us to focus on our physical, mental, and emotional well-being. By taking advantage of the longer days, warmer weather, and fresh produce, we can enhance our health and happiness. Whether it is through outdoor activities, mindful practices, or nourishing our bodies with seasonal foods, spring provides the perfect backdrop for an integrated approach to wellness. Embracing these practices during this vibrant season can set the foundation for a healthier and more fulfilling year ahead. -

BALMAIN

A/W25

The Balmain woman is a beautiful, confident, sexy, and an unapologetic troublemaker. She moves with a fearless attitude, always commanding attention without seeking permission. She’s daring and strong, effortlessly exuding sensuality, but this season signals a shift—introducing soft, cocoon-like silhouettes and stepping away from creative director Olivier Rousteing’s traditionally bold structures. Think rib-knit dresses hugging the body effortlessly, slouchy coats that wrap like a warm embrace, and an overall sense of ease woven into the collection.

This season celebrates Balmain’s legacy while pushing its aesthetic forward. Marking the house’s 80th anniversary, it honors the past while embracing bold reinvention. Signature gowns and intricate embroideries remain, now woven seamlessly with modern elements that redefine tradition with a fresh perspective.

With influences from the refined elegance of the '50s and '60s and the bold energy of the '80s, structured coats take on sculptural volumes, while crocodile embossing and animal prints inject untamed intensity. The fusion of Parisian sophistication and raw organic textures creates a dynamic tension, pushing Balmain into an exciting new era.

THE EVOLUTION OF STRENGTH & SOFTNESS

The Balmain woman moves with confidence, her wardrobe a balance of strength and sensuality. Utilitarian essentials—peacoats, structured parkas, and cargo-style trousers—offer function and flair, while cashmere and mohair contrast with the tough presence of leather and armor-like embellishments. This collection celebrates power in all its forms—refined, rebellious, and fearless.

The show’s emotional arc was set from the opening musical notes of Kate Bush’s Cloudbusting, filling the space with anticipation and an unshakable belief in the unknown. As structured coats and sculptural silhouettes commanded the runway, Enya’s Boadicea deepened the mood, its haunting melody underscoring the warrior-like presence of the Balmain woman. This moment was further amplified by the unveiling of a breathtaking gold dress, a true highlight of the season. Constructed using thousands of small, hand-assembled resin tiles, it created a stunning 3D crocodile effect that gave the dress a sculptural, armor-like presence. The intricate craftsmanship blended avant-garde innovation with Balmain’s signature opulence. The way light danced off the articulated resin tiles enhanced its powerful and dynamic allure, solidifying it as an unforgettable showpiece, perfectly in sync with the song’s victorious energy.

The color story this season plays with contrast—deep greys and navy provide a timeless foundation, punctuated by vibrant pops of yellow, called Mustard!!!. I was ready to shout out ‘Mustard on the beat’, because these colors brought the rhythm, the energy, and the unexpected edge to the runway. These hues bring an unexpected softness to the collection’s fierce textures. Wild animal motifs roam freely across the runway, from intricately assembled 3D croco-effect dresses to zebra-striped beadwork shimmering on fluid fabrics. Just as the zebra print dress and golden sun origami dress emerged, the Chromatics’ Girls Just Wanna Have Fun filled the air—an anthem of liberation. 'I want to be the one to walk in the sun, oh girls just want to have fun'—the lyrics perfectly captured the Balmain woman’s spirit as she strode forward, commanding attention with every step.

As I sat front row, taking in the confidence of this collection, the thigh-high aubergine boots paired with a grey sweater and pants instantly transported me to an '80s Flashdance fantasy. The slouchy, structured balance of it

all felt effortlessly cool and powerful. And let’s be real—I live in Orlando, so if you see me at Publix in the frozen goods section rocking these boots, just carry on. I’ll be living my best life, and yes, I will continue to wear them at home with the air condition set below 65.

The orange shearling boots were impossible to ignore, their oversized volume and sculpted wedge commanding attention from every angle. With their bold texture and playful energy, they weren’t just made for walking— they stole the show, especially when paired with a matching coat and bag. And once again, the anthem bag is still the 'It' bag of the season. It’s belted, cinched silhouette, makes it effortlessly stylish.

The final walk was set against the Barbarella theme, a nod to a heroine who embodied strength, sensuality, and fearless exploration. Then came the song Wuthering Heights, its haunting refrain—'Let me grab your soul away'—capturing the wild passion of Cathy, a woman who refused to be tamed or silenced. Like Cathy, the Balmain woman is

unapologetic in her desires, unrelenting in her confidence, and unwilling to conform, moving through time, space, and fashion with effortless command.

Olivier Rousteing’s vision for Balmain Autumn/Winter 2025 marks an evolution— one where sensuality is redefined, where heritage meets contemporary edge, and where the Balmain woman continues her exploration of style and self-expression. Watching this collection unfold, I couldn’t help but feel the shift—a celebration of power, yet an embrace of softness. This season wasn’t just about bold statements; it was about depth, emotion, and the kind of confidence that doesn’t need to announce itself to be felt. Balmain has always been a house that thrives on audacity, and this collection proves that audacity can be just as compelling when it whispers instead of roars. And as the final musical note faded, I knew one thing for certain—I was ready to step into this new era of Balmain, boots on, bag in hand, and entirely on my own terms. Always part of the Balmain Army, now Balmain family.

CELEBRITIES Off Grid

who live

THE GLITZ AND GLAMOUR OF HOLLYWOOD ISN’T FOR EVERYONE—THESE STARS TRADED IT ALL FOR THE PEACE AND SIMPLICITY OF RURAL LIFE.

While many celebrities thrive in the spotlight, others have found peace far from the red carpets and flashing cameras. Trading in premieres for pastures and paparazzi for privacy, these stars have chosen a quieter life—whether it’s on sprawling ranches, in forest cabins, or tucked away in sleepy small towns. Curious who’s swapped Hollywood hustle for off-the-grid bliss? Let’s take a look.

AMANDA SEYFRIED

When she’s not working on set, actor and producer Amanda Seyfried enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children on a farm in the Catskills mountains of New York. The Mean Girls alum raises chickens, a goat, a donkey and horses on the farm in addition to their family dog Finn. Seyfried spoke of her decision to move in an interview with the New York Times saying the move “solidified my need to be out of the game when I’m not working, to be in nature and to refresh...everybody needs a center of gravity. Somewhere to feel safe.”

JOSH DUHAMEL

As if it weren’t enough to voluntarily live in the woods of Minnesota, Josh Duhamel took it one step further by moving his family into a cabin he built himself. The 52-year-old actor had spent 15 years building the cabin from the ground up and claims at one point he even had to wash dishes in a nearby lake while working on installation of the necessary amenities. With the closest store being a whopping 40 miles away, Duhamel relishes his family’s quieter lifestyle and believes it offers something that “fulfills the soul in a lot of ways.”

JAMES VAN DER BEEK

2020 proved to be a life changing year for all of us although some would say they experienced change for the better! September 2020 was when James Van Der Beek and his wife decided to relocate their family from California to a sprawling ranch in Spicewood, Texas and they haven’t looked back since. In spite of having many friends and fond memories in L.A., the father of six said he realized he hadn’t missed the city once he and his family returned for a recent vacation there. The Dawson’s Creek alum wrote of the trip on Instagram saying, “It didn’t feel like home anymore. Maybe it never was. Or maybe it was home for the time it needed to be.”

TOM SELLECK

Despite being a Hollywood household name for over 40 years, Tom Selleck has long valued privacy over fame. When he’s not filming projects in New York, the Blue Bloods actor retreats to a 63-acre ranch in Ventura, California that he lovingly calls home with his wife of more than 30 years. Once a working avocado farm, the

property is now a peaceful haven filled with native trees and plenty of room to breathe. “I like watching things grow,” Selleck has said. “My relationships and my ranch keep me sane.”

JULIA ROBERTS

Long before “off the grid” became a trend, Julia Roberts was already embracing a slower, more grounded pace of life. The Oscar-winning actress has called Taos, New Mexico home for over 2 decades after purchasing her ranch back in 1990 and living there part-time before making it her permanent residence in 2002. The 32-acre property provides a serene environment where she and her husband have enjoyed raising their family in privacy and far away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood.

CHRIS PRATT

One of Hollywood’s most lovable pairs in recent years has been Chris Pratt and his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger. Though there is never a shortage of new movie projects for Pratt, the duo prefer to spend their time on his San Juan Islands farm off the coast of Washington state. Affectionately called Stillwater Ranch, there the Guardians of the Galaxy star enjoys a laid-back life of raising sheep, pigs, chickens and more. Incredibly, Pratt does a large amount of heavy work by himself even though the Marvel alum could easily afford additional help. He often calls Stillwater Ranch his “special slice of heaven.”

MICHAEL KEATON

Far from Gotham City—and deep in the heart of southern Montana—is a ranch owned by Batman actor Michael Keaton. The Oscar nominee is a proud country boy at heart and enjoys spending both the summer and fall in Big Sky Country which he claims to be “the best place on earth.” His magnificent 1,000-acre estate was even expanded to have enough room to host his relatives, including his six siblings and their families, as well as his year-round staff. Keaton spoke about his move in an interview saying, “Once you see the west, there is no going back.”

STEVE MARTIN

He’s been making audiences laugh for more than 60 years, but even someone as extroverted as Steve Martin can still appreciate a life lived away from the limelight. The Saturday Night Live alum owns a home in a small town in Brevard, North Carolina and enjoys splitting his time there between California and New York. The comedian’s hobbies are right in line with his love of the small town life and include picking the banjo and writing bluegrass music while frequently collaborating with the Steep Canyon Rangers.

MCQUEEN A/ W 2025

A Nocturnal Affair of Elegance & Rebellion

Seán McGirr’s Autumn/Winter 2025 collection for Alexander McQueen, unveiled at Paris Fashion Week, is a dramatic ode to the dandy—reimagined, unraveled, and entirely modernized. Inspired by historical figures like Oscar Wilde, Vesta Tilley, and Romaine Brooks, McGirr channels a spirit of subversive self-expression through sharp tailoring, lavish embellishments, and a darkly romantic aesthetic. His vision transforms London’s enigmatic nightlife into a wardrobe that is both timeless and provocatively modern.

Timothée Chalamet’s recent embrace of the iconic skull scarf has reignited its cultural significance, amassing 62 million TikTok mentions and tripling its sales. First introduced in 2003, the scarf made a triumphant return in McGirr’s collection in its classic form before being reworked into a green and white skull-printed blouse with a ruffled collar—a nod to the neodandyism that underpins the collection.

Sitting front row, I was immediately drawn into McGirr’s world, where each look felt like a deliberate statement, seamlessly blending tradition with modernity. Models emerged from a mirrored portal, reinforcing the idea of identity as a shifting, multi-faceted construct. From a sheer black lace gown that framed the bust with gothic sensuality to angelic winged boleros crafted from overdyed shearling,

McGirr masterfully balanced raw opulence with sharp, modern cuts. The energy in the room was palpable, and as the models glided down the runway, you could feel the audience collectively hanging onto every detail, waiting to see what came next.

Silk gowns in fuchsia, inky blue, pale green, and lavender exuded effortless drama. Statement pieces included crystalline floral-covered crinoline minidresses, bullion-encrusted bomber jackets, and cloaks adorned with bedazzled face jewelry—each a visual feast designed for the boldest of Hollywood stylists. Mary Gonsalves Kinney, CEO and Founder fashion styling company MGK STYLE, singled out one piece in particular: "This amazing dress by Sean McGirr from Alexander McQueen

with its detailed appliqué of rhinestones outlining that of a human rib, bugs and floral details interwoven throughout, was absolutely breathtaking. The skirt with multiple layers of tulle and fabrics one overlaying the other sashayed down the runway in such a way that you could hear audible gasps from the crowd. It was by far my favorite piece of the whole collection, although fairly unwearable for most, it signified exactly what I love about fashion week—the aspirational moments."

Accessories played a pivotal role in the collection’s narrative. Philip Treacy’s sculptural black hats lent an air of avant-garde elegance, while spherical Drop Bags and polished-metal T-Bar Sling Bags echoed McQueen’s architectural sensibility. Corvax boots, mules, and sharply pointed Oxfords furthered the Victorianinspired dandy aesthetic, rendered in patent black, crimson, and silver.

McGirr also incorporated contemporary, wearable elements into his vision. A glossy shrunken leather bomber with punk buckle details injected a rebellious edge, while a tailcoat parka with dense crystal shard embroidery at the neck embodied the designer’s knack for merging technical performance fabrics with couturelevel craftsmanship.

With this collection McGirr confidently stakes his claim on the McQueen legacy. His collection is a bold study in elegance and defiance, reinterpreting dandyism for a new generation while staying rooted in the house’s historic rebellion. Sitting in the audience, watching the artistry unfold before me, I was reminded why McQueen continues to captivate the fashion world. The collection carried an undeniable sense of storytelling—one that spoke to the past while paving the way for the future. A celebration of craftsmanship and individuality, this season’s offering proves that McQueen’s world remains as powerful and poetic as ever.

“A bold study in elegance and defiance, reinterpreting dandyism for a new generation.”

ALL YOU NEED IS STELLA

STELLA

STELLA STELLA STELLA

I walked into Stella McCartney’s Autumn/Winter 2025 show at Paris Fashion Week and was instantly met with a smirk from the universe—or maybe just from Stella herself. The venue had been transformed into a fictional office called “StellaCorp,” complete with rows of copy machines, swivel chairs, and ceramic coffee mugs that read “StellaCorp.” (Confession: one of those mugs may have found its way into my bag. Some souvenirs are just too good to leave behind).

Waiting on every seat was The Stella Times, a faux newspaper and visual manifesto. The front page declared: “Save What You Love,” featuring imagery from her Summer 2025 campaign, including Eva Mendes in a baby pink coat crafted from 96% conscious materials—part of Stella’s continued commitment to regenerated textiles like PEEKABOO nylon yarn and Kelsun™, a seaweed-based textile. The tone was set: this show wasn’t just about fashion. It was about protecting the planet while celebrating selfexpression. With headlines like “Laptop to Lapdance Is Here” and “Fashion Must End Its Use of Exotics,” Stella made her stance clear—ethics and elegance can, and should, coexist.

And underneath the cheeky headlines and winks at corporate culture was something deeper. Recently, Stella repurchased the minority stake from LVMH, regaining full control of her brand—and this show felt like a celebration of that return to independence. This wasn’t just a runway presentation. It was a bold reintroduction of a woman reclaiming her voice, her vision, and her values.

TO PROVOKE TO PLAY

The collection, titled Laptop to Lapdance, was described in Stella’s own words as “a celebration of all the things that we do so well at Stella… a wardrobe that allows you to work like a boss and play hard like yourself.” The Stella woman is confident, conscious, and refuses to compartmentalize who she is. From boardroom to dance floor, she’s fully herself.

I attended the show with my friend and stylist Mary Gonsalves Kinney, who already had me in one of my favorite Stella looks—easy to wear, but effortlessly chic. Mary couldn’t help but call out a standout moment from the collection:

“I'm a huge fan of Stella McCartney and not just because of her sustainability ethos, but because she knows how to transcend the stigma of being an eco-conscious brand that lacks the ability to be luxe and on par with her luxury brand colleagues. My favorite piece was the baby pink draped mini dress that looks like it could have been part of a Yves Saint Laurent collection in the 1960s or ’70s. She has a way of understanding how to manipulate the materials she uses to give them movement and elevation. It's retro, but it’s modern—and it was by far my favorite in the collection.”

As for me? I fell hard for the oversized new celadon and toffee-toned jackets— total relaxed power moves that make you feel like you own the room without saying a word. And the embossed bodysuit that glistened down the runway? That one had me ready to head straight out for a night of dancing. Lately, that’s meant late nights dancing at The H… but let’s be honest, I’ll dance anywhere.

The runway itself was a masterclass in contrast: oversized tailoring with soft sensuality, vegan suedes cut like couture, and outerwear made for women who lead with both confidence and conscience. My personal favorite coat? A strongshouldered double-breasted silhouette—it didn’t just walk the runway, it owned it.

Crafted from 96% conscious and 100% cruelty-free materials, StellaWinter25

remained McCartney’s long-standing commitment to environmental responsibility—eschewing leather, fur, and exotic skins—continues to push the industry forward.

And the guest list? As fabulous as the fashion. Anna Wintour in her signature shades. Kate Moss, timeless and cool. Cameron Diaz, radiant and full of warmth. Tom Ford—ever the icon of quiet sophistication—leaned in to chat with Anna, and for a moment, I caught

her laughing. I loved seeing Cameron and Kate sharing a laugh too—just two friends genuinely enjoying the moment amidst the whirlwind of fashion week. And among them all, Brigitte Macron, the First Lady of France, brought her signature grace and Parisian polish to the front row.

Stella McCartney didn’t just deliver a collection—she reminded us that fashion has the power to say something. To protect. To provoke. To play. This season, she gave us a vision of what it means to lead with values, without ever losing the joy.

Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can wear… is what you stand for.

10 Hotels Around the World for Lovers of Movie Magic

Michael Colbert
Photo: Bürgenstock, Lake Lucerne

Ever dreamed of stepping foot on your favorite movie set? Or have you googled filming locations while watching Casino Royale? Film and television can help armchair cinephiles travel the world from the comforts of their home, but for jetsetters with a love of the big screen, set-jetting has long been a popular source of travel inspiration.

These quasi-pilgrimages to the sites and sets of films don’t just draw visitors to Hollywood, however. ABC reported that since Season 3 of Mike White’s HBO series White Lotus released, online searches for destinations across Thailand increased from 30% to 65%, and the show’s previous seasons boosted demand in Hawaii and Sicily by 300%.

Whether you’re traveling to the Las Vegas Strip with Anora, back in time in New York with A Complete Unknown, or through South America with Queer, at these hotels you can spend the night with a great helping of film history.

Beverly Hills Hotel, Los Angeles

Where to begin but the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel, a classic meeting spot for Hollywood’s movers-and-shakers. The pink and green Polo Lounge oozes decades of Hollywood gossip. Charlie Chaplin had a standing lunch reservation for booth one, and Marlene Dietrich caused the restaurant to amend their no-slacks-for-ladies rule when she showed off her famous gams in pants. Liz Taylor frequented Bungalow Five, and Sidney Poitier danced barefoot in the Hollywood Lobby following his Oscar win for Lilies of the Field. Bret Easton Ellis’s readers today might just be eagerly awaiting the HBO adaptation of his Los Angeles thriller, The Shards, in which the hotel and Polo Lounge prominently figure.

Park Hyatt, Tokyo

Sofia Coppola drew Tokyo with dreamy, wistful brushstrokes in her film, Lost in Translation. Scarlett Johansson spends untold minutes peering out the window from her room high above the city in the Park Hyatt, and the hotel’s New York Bar makes for a swanky nightcap from the top of Tokyo while listening to live music. Though Murray and Johansson’s characters rarely leave the confines of the hotel—and for good reason, the property is one of the luxury brand’s flagship locations and is identifiable by its stunning black anthracite details—the Park Hyatt is located in Tokyo’s Shinjuku neighborhood and is only a brief walk to Yoyogi Park and the Meiji Shrine.

Caribe Hilton, San Juan, Puerto Rico

San Juan has inspired many a sun-dappled production. When American filmmakers couldn’t make the trip to Havana, San Juan often stood in for its neighbor in productions like Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. The Caribe Hilton has long celebrated a legacy of old Hollywood flair. The hotel was Conrad Hilton’s first venture outside of the continental United States. Liz Taylor stayed at the property during her honeymoon with Conrad Hilton, Jr., her first of seven husbands. More recently, it’s served as a backdrop for Rum

Diary, 22 Jump Street, and others. If you visit, don’t miss the pina colada—the drink is said to have originated in their bar.

Bürgenstock, Lake Lucerne

James Bond turned 60 last year, and the Bürgenstock, hidden away on Switzerland’s Lake Lucerne, was happy to celebrate— the hotel rolled out Aston Martin driving experiences, Alpine Summit helicopter rides, and afternoons in cabanas by the Hollywood Pool to recreate the lavish life as a secret agent as experienced by Connery’s Bond. While filming Goldfinger, Sean Connery and the crew spent a month at the resort and shot at the nearby Hammetschwand Lift. George Lazenby also visited their sister property, Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa, as Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. The hotel today is known for its for hydrothermal journeys, and guests can unwind in style like Bond after hours.

San Domenico Palace, Taormina, Sicily

While the world might have its eyes on Thailand’s Koh Samui since the release of season three of Mike White’s White Lotus, season two of the show had viewers enchanted by Taormina’s magic. Italy has a long and rich film history. Cinecittà, the country’s signature studio which opened under Mussolini’s direction in 1937, went on to inspire such filmmakers as Federico Fellini and Pier Paolo Pasolini; produced Cinema Paradiso, 8 ½, La Dolce Vita and Rome, Open City; and cultivated stars like Sophia Loren and Marcello Mastroianni. While visitors to Rome can peek inside the studios at Cinecittà, the San Domenico Palace offers guests the chance to stay like the—often illfated—guests at The White Lotus. Situated in the Sicilian resort town of Taormina, the San Domenico Palace overlooks the Mediterranean and offers dramatic views of Mount Etna.

Stanley Hotel, Este Park, Colorado

Any horror film lover worth their salt will have the Stanley Hotel on their travel bucket list—should they dare to stay the night. Less than two miles from Rocky Mountain National Park, the property made for an arresting, and haunting, set for Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. Though guests won’t spy the iconic hexagonal carpets in

the hotel’s halls today, they can learn more about the Stanley’s legacy by joining one of the property’s historical tours. Beyond its relevance to horror fans, this 110-year-old hotel is on the National Register of Historic Places and sits at an attractive vantage in the mountains, only an hour from Denver. Though, if you find yourself tapping the bar and asking Lloyd for a drink, maybe it’s time to head out.

Fairmont Copley Plaza, Boston

Boston has long loomed large in the country’s cinematic imagination, and though some of its most famous films— The Departed and Good Will Hunting— captured much of their footage in New York and Toronto, the city has inspired a host of other directors. Tax incentives have caused Beantown to boom into a film hub outside of New York, inspiring a host of films from Fever Pitch to Little Women, American Fiction to American Hustle. Both American Hustle and Little Women shot inside the Fairmont Copley Plaza, and Luca Guadagnino’s spicy tennis ménage à trois also filmed at nearby hotel, The Newbury.

Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido

The 2022 premiere of Don’t Worry, Darling at the Venice Film Festival had social media sleuths falling down deep online rabbit holes—Florence Pugh’s absence from the press call, questions about whether Harry Styles spit on Chris Pine, Chris Pine seemingly dissociating, a never-ending series of memes about all of it. As much as the 2022 festival launched Venice into the public

eye, Italy’s canal city has welcomed slews of stars with their own dramas for decades. The Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido has hosted the festival since its first year in 1932 and makes for a luxurious stay on Venice’s Lido, a barrier island that’s about a 15-minute ferry ride from the city where Katharine Hepburn reportedly swam in the canals while filming Summertime.

Sundance Mountain Resort

Back across the pond, Utah’s otherworldly landscape has long inspired writers, directors, and artists. Among those who felt called by the land was Robert Redford, who in 1969 purchased land known today as Sundance with the vision of “a community committed to the balance of art, nature and community.” In 1981, the Sundance Institute was founded at the Sundance Mountain Resort. The Sundance Film Festival launches the careers of many of today’s biggest names in art films. Although the festival will take place in Boulder, Colorado beginning in 2027, visitors can peek inside the halls where the festival began at the resort, all while exploring the landscape Redford so deeply loved and dreamed to conserve.

Salish Lodge, Snoqualmie Falls, Washington

Daivd Lynch heads will recognize Salish Lodge, peeking just over Washington State’s Snoqualmie Falls, as the exterior of The Great Northern in Twin Peaks. Perched above White Tail Falls, the hotel became a centerpiece of Lynch’s cult favorite series. Although it’s unclear whether a guest may uncover secret passages at Salish Lodge— another location was used as The Great Northern’s interior—the property is a premier getaway in the Pacific Northwest. It ranked at the top of Travel + Leisure’s readers’ favorite resorts in the West in 2024. Yet still it maintains its playful edge, touting its Lynchian connection—guests can order the “Damn Fine Cherry Pie” and “Dale Cooper” cocktail at the hotel’s Restaurant & Terrace Bar and celebrate Twin Peaks Day on February 24.

PATBO RETURNS TO ORLANDO WITH RESORT-READY GLAMOUR

“That’s the kind of woman I design for. She notices the details, travels well, and owns her presence.” —
Patricia Bonaldi

Brazilian designer Patricia Bonaldi brought her signature sparkle and tropical sophistication back to Orlando with a special appearance at Wardrobe inside the Four Seasons Resort. As the visionary behind PatBO—a brand celebrated for its vibrant prints, intricate embroidery, and jet-set femininity—Bonaldi connected with guests for an intimate styling event, perfectly timed for spring wardrobes and wanderlust-driven packing lists.

This wasn’t Patricia’s first-time gracing Orlando Style or Central Florida. We previously featured her inspiring journey from atelier to international acclaim, but this visit gave us the perfect excuse to catch up again. She graciously answered a few final questions about her partnership with the Four Seasons, the experience of selling in a hotel retail setting, and (of course) her love for Disney.

“There’s something about the Four Seasons that just fits—it’s polished without trying too hard,” Bonaldi shared. “That’s the kind of woman I design for. She notices the details, travels well, and owns her presence. The Four Seasons attracts that same woman: stylish, confident, and effortlessly cool.”

When asked if she notices a different kind of shopper in a hotel boutique, she didn’t hesitate. “Definitely. There’s a different energy when women shop in a hotel—it’s more in-the-moment, more about the experience. They’re relaxed, open, maybe even feeling a little adventurous, which makes them more likely to try something new. It’s less transactional and more personal—like helping a friend pack for her next getaway instead of just selling a dress.”

And what was her favorite part of her Orlando trip? Unsurprisingly, the answer was sprinkled with fairy dust: “Spending time at Walt Disney World is always magical for me. I love seeing it through the eyes of a child—and as a designer, it reminds me how much joy there is in imagination.”

But beyond the fashion and fantasy, Patricia’s visit came with a meaningful gesture—she generously donated a portion of event proceeds to Runway to Hope, the Central Floridabased nonprofit supporting children and families battling pediatric cancer. Her kindness and commitment to giving back made the day feel even more special.

From the iconic shimmer of her gowns to her thoughtful approach to dressing women, Patricia Bonaldi continues to enchant wherever she goes. Whether you’re slipping into one of her hand-beaded pieces or spotting her in the heart of Disney country, her world is one worth stepping into.

FUTURE IN FOCUS

GM’s UK Studio Redesigns the Corvette Legacy

General Motors has opened a groundbreaking Advanced Design Studio in Royal Leamington Spa, England, marking a bold step in its global design strategy. Announced this April, the studio’s debut showcases a stunning Chevrolet Corvette EV concept, reimagining the iconic sports car for a future driven by electric innovation. This sleek prototype, crafted under the leadership of renowned designer Julian Thomson, blends aviation-inspired aesthetics with cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) technology, signaling GM’s ambition to redefine automotive design.

The Corvette EV concept is the first of three planned design studies set to roll out in 2025, with subsequent reveals expected from GM’s Los Angeles and Detroit studios. Unlike production models, this concept prioritizes visionary design over practical constraints,

featuring clean, muscular lines and a structure that integrates the battery into the vehicle’s core for enhanced performance. Its bold, restriction-free approach hints at what the Corvette brand could become in decades to come, pushing boundaries while honoring its legacy as America’s premier sports car.

Beyond the Corvette, the UK studio teased a forthcoming GMC concept, developed in collaboration with GM’s Detroit team, slated for reveal later in 2025. This dual focus underscores the studio’s role as a hub for diverse, forward-thinking design, catering to both performance enthusiasts and rugged utility fans. The Royal Leamington Spa facility, nestled in a vibrant creative community, is poised to attract top talent, fostering innovation in GM’s global portfolio.

Led by Thomson, whose resume includes iconic designs for Lotus and Jaguar, the studio aims to blend European design sensibilities with GM’s American heritage. “This studio is about imagining the future without limits,” Thomson said, emphasizing the team’s mission to explore bold ideas. The facility’s opening aligns with GM’s broader push into electrification, as evidenced by a 94% surge in EV sales in Q1 2025, driven by models like the Cadillac Lyriq and Chevrolet Equinox EV.

As GM eyes a potential return to the European market, the UK studio positions the automaker to compete on a global stage. With its futuristic Corvette concept and ambitious design agenda, GM is not just designing cars—it’s shaping the future of mobility.

“THIS STUDIO IS ABOUT IMAGINING THE FUTURE WITHOUT LIMITS.”

Don’t let volatile markets SHAKE UP YOUR INVESTMENT STRATEGY

When it comes to investing, pullbacks and corrections (declines in stock prices of at least 10 percent from their recent highs) are routine, although they don’t usually feel that way as they happen.

As an investor who is depending on your investment portfolio to help meet some key goals, such as a comfortable retirement, it’s important to understand the factors that are causing the turmoil. However, simply knowing what is going on doesn’t make the portfolio declines any more palatable. Still, now may not be the best time to make any drastic changes to your portfolio.

But staying calm doesn’t mean being inactive. Keep in mind that a market correction, by definition, means that prices have dropped for most stocks, including the ones that represent strong companies with favorable prospects. And a correction is often accelerated by investors selling shares to supposedly cut their losses. But when prices are down, it could actually be a good moment to buy.

You also may want to take this opportunity to consider whether you need to further diversify your holdings. In a downturn, just about everybody takes a hit, but if you were affected particularly strongly, you might be over-concentrated in just a few types of stocks. You can help reduce the impact of volatility on your portfolio by owning a mix of domestic and international stocks, bonds, government securities,

certificates of deposit (CDs) and possibly even “alternative” investment vehicles, including real estate and commodities, such as precious metals.

Ultimately, you don’t have to scuttle your long-term investment strategy merely on the basis of a few bad weeks or months in the market. If you’ve created a strategy that reflects your risk tolerance, time horizon and financial goals, and if you make needed adjustments over time, you’ll give yourself the ability to look past today’s headlines.

LESLIE RIVIERE, ESQ.

The Art of Re-Invention

For more than 35 years, attorney Leslie Riviere has been re-inventing herself.

When she first began practicing law, Leslie was an insurance defense lawyer with a statewide practice. That all changed in 1989 when a rollover car accident broke her spine and left her paralyzed.

“I remember waking up in the hospital and thinking, How am I going to get back to work? But if there’s a saving grace here, it’s that you don’t need to walk to practice law. I was determined to go back to work right away—and I did. But in those days, my downtown office building wasn’t even wheelchair accessible. They had to retrofit the building for me. Despite the accommodations, working in insurance defense and trying to travel statewide just wasn’t the right fit. So I switched sides of the fence to a plaintiff’s practice and never looked back.”

Leslie joined Warren Harris in his Hyde Park practice in 1991. She became a principal in the law firm, forming Harris & Riviere, P.A., and became board certified in 1997.

“Now, it might seem counterintuitive to think of a lawyer in a wheelchair representing injured people in court, but it worked really well. Clients knew I understood what they were going through, and they confided in me. I got to play lawyer and counselor at the same time— rebuilding these people’s lives, often from the ground up.”

Leslie’s next venture was becoming certified as a mediator and launching Tampa Mediation Group. She is a graduate of the Warrington School of Business and the Levin College of Law at the University of Florida. She is a member of the Middle and Southern District Courts and the Workers’ Compensation, Trial Lawyers, ADR, and Administrative sections of the Florida Bar.

Outside of law, Leslie is an avid gamer—also known as “LitiGator.”

MARY ANN STILES

President, Mary Ann Stiles, P. A.

Getting my law degree consumed my life from 1969 to 1978. I saw becoming an attorney as a way to move beyond the typewriter—as more than just a secretary—and to be respected as a woman with a brain. I worked several jobs to pay my way through Hillsborough Community College, Florida State University, and Antioch School of Law in Washington, D.C.

I come from a large family, and to say we lived below the poverty line would be an understatement. While at Florida State, I worked for the Florida House of Representatives drafting workers’ compensation laws. I also interned in Congress for United States Senator Lawton Chiles.

After graduating from law school, my former nemesis from my days at the Florida Legislature, Jon Shebel, offered me a job as Vice President and General Counsel of Associated Industries of Florida. He taught me how to lobby. I became the first woman to work full-time lobbying on behalf of the business community. I vividly remember testifying before legislative committees while women stood in the back

of the room, silently encouraging me. It was a tough world—one run and controlled by men.

I learned my craft and became known as the “Queen of Workers’ Compensation.” In the late ’70s and throughout the ’80s, surviving as a woman meant being tough, knowing your business, and being on your game 100% of the time. I was proud to become the first woman inducted into the Florida Workers’ Compensation Hall of Fame.

Over the years, I’ve received many awards and recognitions, but the most meaningful came recently—on April 11, 2025—when I received the inaugural “Frances Perkins Trailblazer Award” from The Florida Bar Forum: Women in Workers’ Compensation. It was an incredible honor to be recognized as a pioneer on behalf of women in law.

Women have come a long way, but there’s still so much more to accomplish—for the good of our profession, and for the generations of women yet to come.

How to Create a

Skincare Routine

for Mature Skin

Unlock the Secret to Glowing Skin with the Right Routine

Essential Steps to Maintain Healthy, Radiant Skin as You Age

changes in your diet, and smoking can speed up aging, leading to visible signs of aging. However, individuals who prioritize their skincare needs early on might notice fewer wrinkles and fine lines.

These changes happen gradually, and some aren't as visible as others. As your skin matures, it’s important that your skincare routine changes, too. Many individuals with mature skin need products that help hydrate, protect, and repair. Formulas designed with hydrating ingredients can help you maintain a youthful look and reduce visible signs of aging.

The Essentials of Mature Skincare

To achieve visibly healthier-looking skin, revise your skincare routine and ensure it aligns with your unique needs. The essentials for visibly healthier skin include a gentle cleaner, hydrating moisturizer, targeted treatments, and sun protection. Here are the benefits of incorporating these different products into your routine:

Laugh lines, age spots, wrinkles, and line creases are normal skin imperfections that can occur with aging. The older you get, the less collagen and elastin your skin produces. This can lead to common visual imperfections that impact your skin’s youthful look.

The best way to combat these imperfections is to tailor your skincare routine to align with the changing needs of mature skin. With the right science-backed formulas and highly effective nutrients, you can maintain your skin's integrity and target your unique skin concerns.

Not sure where to get started? Here's how you can build a skincare routine for mature skin:

Understanding the Transformation of Mature Skin

It might surprise you to know that everyone’s skin ages at a different pace. Long days sunbathing in the summer sun,

Cleanser

A cleanser helps clean the skin and removes dirt and grime from the skin's surface. Starting your routine with a gentle cleanser ensures you start with a clean slate. This will help improve product absorption while preserving your skin's natural oils. The best cleanser for mature skin is formulated with hydrating ingredients like glycerin, niacinamide, and ceramides. They also don't contain any harsh alcohols or ingredients that might strip the skin.

Moisturizer

A hydrating moisturizer helps preserve the skin's integrity, combat dryness, and improve your skin's moisture levels. When looking for a moisturizer for your mature skin, you should look for products that support rejuvenation and cellular repair.

Your skin changes with age— your routine should too

Augustinus Bader’s The Rich Cream is deeply hydrating and restorative. Their products are made with patented trigger factor complex technology, which helps turn potent ingredients into highly effective skincare formulas. Formulas like The Rich Cream are optimal for mature skin types, and the results are backed by clinical trials.

Serums

Serums are formulated with active ingredients like peptides, retinol, and hyaluronic acid, which are highly effective and beneficial for mature skin. Serums typically contain higher concentrations of active ingredients, which can help you take a more targeted approach to your routine. Mature skin can benefit from a hyaluronic acid or vitamin C serum in the morning. Incorporating a retinol serum at night can also help improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Targeted Treatments

Laughing, frowning, and everyday facial expressions can cause common skin imperfections, like fine lines and wrinkles under the eyes. The skin under your eyes is more fragile and delicate than the rest of your face. As your collagen levels deplete, these skin imperfections become more prominent. Many individuals find an eye cream beneficial for their mature skin routine. Eye creams and other targeted treatments can help hydrate under the eyes and help you achieve a “more awake” appearance.

Sun Protection

Prolonged sun exposure, especially in sunny climates like Florida, can cause fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.. Sunscreen protects the skin from harmful UV rays and protects the skin from signs of aging and skin cancer. If your everyday moisturizer doesn’t have sunscreen in the formula, you should try to include sunscreen in your daytime skincare routine. Mature skin can benefit from SPF 30 or higher.

Supplementing Your Routine for Mature Skin

Exploring weekly or monthly supplemental skincare treatments is another easy way to improve your skincare routine. These treatments will give your skin the extra boost of vitamins and nutrients needed to combat the changes in collagen and elastin.

Treatments like face masks and exfoliants can improve hydration, visibly reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots. Professional facials or microcurrent therapy can also benefit mature skin, helping delay skin aging.

When exploring supplemental treatments and products for your routine, it's always best to consider your unique skin type and the formula. Not all skincare products are created equally. So, you should read clinical trial data and use innovative, sciencebacked formulas.

If you aren’t sure which treatment or ingredients are best for your skin type, consider speaking with a dermatologist for expert advice and guidance.

Wrapping Up

Creating a skincare routine for mature skin is the best way to minimize signs of aging and preserve your youthful glow. With small changes to your everyday routine, you can maintain your skin’s integrity and lessen the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and creases. This is the most effective way to support skin health and natural radiance.

While building a skincare routine for mature skin, it’s always best to remember that it’s normal for your skin to change with age. Embracing the transformations is the best way to maintain your confidence and stay positive through the changes.

"With small changes to your everyday routine, you can maintain your skin’s integrity and lessen the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and creases."

During this time, he discovered a passion for chiropractic care, which led him to pursue his Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine at the National University of Health Sciences in Pinellas Park, where he graduated as salutatorian in 2021.

Dr. Lovett practices at Advanced Medical of Florida’s Clearwater office, a multidisciplinary clinic where he provides personalized, evidence-based care. His approach emphasizes chiropractic manipulation, functional rehabilitation, and integrative therapies such as decompression and soft tissue techniques—all rooted in his belief in treating patients holistically. Dr. Lovett holds certifications in acupuncture and dry needling and is currently studying to become a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, motivated by his commitment to lifelong learning.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Lovett mentors high school students through Take Stock in Children and has volunteered with organizations such as Feeding Tampa Bay and Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful. He is also active in the Pinellas County Chiropractic Society, advocating for the profession at both the state and national levels.

In his free time, he enjoys sports, grilling, and spending time with his friends and family. Grounded by his faith in God, Dr. Lovett finds purpose in helping others live healthier lives across the Tampa Bay community and looks forward to expanding his impact.

DR. PAVLOA SANTAMARIA

Chiropractic & Holistic Center of Tampa

Celebrating a Decade of Healing: Meet Dr. Pavloa Santamaria

For over 10 years, Dr. Pavloa “Dr. Pav” Santamaria, founder and chiropractor at the Chiropractic & Holistic Center of Tampa, has been helping the Tampa Bay community heal naturally—one spine at a time. With a passion for holistic health and a forward-thinking approach to care, Dr. Pav has created a sanctuary where advanced chiropractic meets wholebody wellness.

At her full-service center, patients experience more than just pain relief—they discover a path to restoration and vitality. Services include chiropractic adjustments, therapeutic massage, infrared sauna, cold plunge, and a variety of biohacking therapies designed to optimize healing and performance.

A Webster-certified chiropractor, Dr. Pav also specializes in pregnancy chiropractic, using gentle, effective techniques to support alignment, comfort, and optimal birth outcomes for expecting mothers.

What truly sets the center apart is its powerful, non-surgical solution for chronic back pain: the DRX9000® Spinal Decompression System. This breakthrough technology has changed the lives of countless patients suffering from herniated and bulging discs—offering hope, healing, and a real alternative to surgery.

The clinic also embraces the science of frequency medicine, featuring Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) and a vibroacoustic sound therapy bed—innovative treatments that promote cellular repair, reduce inflammation, and bring balance to the nervous system through lowfrequency sound and energy.

Dr. Pav’s mission is to help people heal deeply, thrive naturally, and live fully. Her compassionate care and results-driven therapies have made her a trusted leader in holistic healthcare.

When she’s not in the office, you’ll likely find her cycling around Tampa or spending quality time with her beloved “ChiroKid.”

At Chiropractic & Holistic Center of Tampa, we don’t just help you feel better—we help you live better!

SEV KESSLER, DC

Brightstar Chiropractic & Progressive Rehab

Dr. Sev Kessler is a passionate and dedicated chiropractor who graduated as salutatorian from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2011. He holds undergraduate degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and Business Administration, giving him a strong foundation in both science and healthcare. His deep commitment to lifelong learning allows him to deliver the most current, evidence-based care to every patient he serves.

Dr. Kessler’s path to chiropractic was born from personal experience. In his early twenties, while pursuing his love of skiing, he suffered a serious back injury—herniating three spinal discs. Faced with the possibility of spinal fusion surgery and long-term limitations, he began exploring alternative options. That’s when he discovered chiropractic care. Though skeptical at first, he gave it a chance—and it transformed his life. Not only did it help him avoid surgery, but it also restored his function, mobility, and overall quality of life. Inspired by this experience, Dr. Kessler committed himself to helping others find the same safe and effective path to healing.

At Brightstar Chiropractic & Progressive Rehab, that passion lives on. Our mission is to provide natural, non-invasive care that empowers patients to take control of their health. We focus on treating the root cause of pain—not just the symptoms—and we believe in building personalized treatment plans based on each patient’s unique needs and goals.

Our care combines advanced chiropractic techniques with progressive rehabilitation therapies to promote real, lasting results. Whether you’re managing chronic pain, recovering from injury, or simply working toward optimal wellness, our team is here to support and guide you every step of the way.

At Brightstar Chiropractic, we’re here to help you move more freely, feel better daily, and live the life you love.
