ISSA DE’MAR Issa de’ mar designers Marissa Eveland and Melissa Jasniy are good friends who surf and lived on the North Shore of Oahu together. Even remote towns in the middle of China or South America are serving up higher prices than we do. These deals in the Orlando area are insanely low, and after talking to many realtors, I can tell you that it’s not going to last. Prices are on the rise, so get in now!

Specifically, magazines dominate two crucial stages: brand familiarity and purchase intent.

Love was in the air last month as the city of Orlando celebrated Valentine’s Day, but hopefully you weren’t too busy enjoying heart-shaped chocolates to miss out on the rest of the fun February had to offer! We’ve got all the highlights for you including a couple you might have missed from January so sit back, relax and check out our recap of Orlando’s best events, just in case you missed it!

The most action-packed live event on four wheels returned to Camping World Stadium on January 21st! Monster Jam is the world’s largest and most famous monster truck tour featuring the biggest names in monster trucks.

World-class drivers competed in both monster truck racing and freestyle competitions that left adrenaline-charged attendees on the edge of their seats. The event showcased the most recognizable trucks in the world including Grave Digger, Maximum Destruction, Monster Mutt, El Toro Loco, Captain’s Curse and Blue Thunder.

Three top entertainment acts joined together for a great cause in the special live show Performers With a Purpose! The family-friendly event featured America’s Got Talent finalist and took

place on February 28th at Orlando’s gorgeous Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Worldrenowned juggler Charles Peachock hosted the event which also starred powerhouse vocal group The Edge Effect and top ventriloquist Michael Harrison. 20% of all ticket proceeds went directly to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida which feeds the hungry of the Orlando area.

Recognized as the region’s premier food and wine pairing event, the Heart of Florida United Way Chef ’s Gala returned on Saturday, February 4th for a night of fundraising and fine dining!

The event featured exquisite cuisine from more than 20 of Central Florida’s top chefs, along with thoughtfully paired fine wines, live music, and a silent auction. Hosted by Walt Disney World Resort and raising nearly $300,000 each year, Chef ’s Gala is historically United Way’s largest fundraiser for education, income, health and basic needs programs that serve thousands of Central Floridians in need.

Mount Dora Arts Festival celebrated its 42nd anniversary from February 4th-5th! The festival displays works of more than 300 juried artists

mixed with live entertainment, children’s activities and more. Both art lovers and casual festival-goers enjoyed the widely popular festival set in the charming hillside town of Mount Dora. Artists competed for awards in painting, printmaking, photography, jewelry, sculpture and numerous other categories. In addition to beautiful artwork at every corner, attendees also enjoyed festival food courts, popular downtown restaurants and local merchant shopping.

The good times rolled in at Universal Orlando’s annual Mardi Gras celebration! For 50 nights from February 4th-March 24th, guests get to experience the Big Easy as they enjoy spectacular performers parading through the streets on festive floats while countless strands of colorful beads are tossed into the crowd. On 12 select nights, guests can also jam out to incredible music from big-name headliners as some of the biggest names in music take the stage for live concerts.

From lively parades and delicious authentic Cajun cuisine to world class rides and attractions, Universal’s Mardi Gras is the biggest party of the year—and everyone’s invited!

February 5th was Superbowl Sunday and while the Falcons and Patriots squared off in Texas, some of their biggest fans were cheering them on at Wall St. Plaza Super Block Party. Some attendees grabbed a seat in front of a massive 16ft LED TV setup by Whats2Hot.com while others opted to watch the big game in one of Wall St. Plaza’s 7 fantastic bars. Guests who arrived early got their name on the Super Bowl squares board for chances to win free drinks and prizes every quarter!

February 10th-11th was a dream come true for every automotive enthusiast in Central Florida! The 13th Annual “Cars for the Cure” Heathrow automotive festival was held over that weekend at beautiful Colonial TownPark in Lake Mary, Florida. Lamborghinis, Bugattis, Porsche, and Aston Martins were just a few of the over 150 cars that lined the streets for the largest charitable car show in the Southeast United States. Hosted by the American Lung Association in Florida, Central Florida’s Cars for the Cure showcased an array of the most distinctive and unforgettable cars from around the world. Proceeds from the day long, family festival benefitted the American Lung Association in Central Florida.

entley recently announced its fastest and most powerful production model to date: the new Bentley Continental Supersports.

A top speed of 209 mph (336 km/h) and a 0-60 mph time of 3.4 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds) make the new Continental Supersports the world’s fastest and most powerful luxury four-seat car.

Similarly, its soft-top sibling, the Continental Supersports Convertible, is the fastest four-seat convertible in the world, despatching the sprint to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.9 secs) on its way to a 205 mph (330 km/h) top speed.

Bentley’s mighty W12 engine, redeveloped for the Supersports with new high-performance turbos and engine hardware, and a torque vectoring system create a Continental Supersports as agile as it is powerful.

THE SINGER MAKES US FALL IN LOVE WITH JAZZ AGAIN WITH DAY BREAKS

If someone were to ask if you like jazz, Norah Jones would probably come to mind, and once again you would feel slightly more cultured than your current car radio presets make you feel. She’s the crossover artist who brought jazz back into our vocabulary, the moody singer who made us slow down the rhythm of the day with her sultry vocals and gentle piano over a quiet glass of wine.

Who could forget her 2002 breakout hit “Don’t Know Why” and the lonely sound of that breathy voice singing us a new song that stood out in the crowd of contemporary music? On March 8, you can hear all of those Norah Jones standards that made you a fan from the very beginning when she takes the stage at the Bob Carr Theater for a night of music and memories.

The nine-time Grammy Award winner will be performing her various classics from the past decade and a half as well as songs from her most recent album, Day Breaks. This album is somewhat of a montage of her musical roots, but it is not faint of souvenirs from the genres with which she has played and the roads she has travelled over the years.

Since her 2002 album, Come Away with Me, Jones has wandered along many highways and byways of music, stretching herself further than her jazz piano standards and experimenting with new sounds album after album. In 2006, she tested the waters of country music with her side project, The Little Willies, and she gave alternative fans unexpected material with her electric guitar-driven “Happy Pills” album, Little Broken Hearts, in 2012. Not a stranger to stepping out of her comfort zone at the piano, Jones even learned guitar for the album, which gave her new perspective to find uncharted songs outside of the jazz genre that had yet to be written.

But with Day Breaks, perhaps Ms. Jones has returned to her favorite place, the jazz arrangements that she calls home—but this time, Ms. Jones is wiser for the wear.

Day Breaks is a picture of a grown-up Jones who has come full circle, an expression of true, unrefined jazz music of the likes one would find in smoky New Orleans bars nearly a century ago. Once again behind the piano, Jones seems comfortable and capable, making everything from jazz piano riffs to heartbreaks look easy.

GLUTES Tightening your glutes is a workout that your passengers will probably not even notice. Try to keep your legs approximately shoulder width apart and squeeze your glutes as tightly as you can. Each squeeze should be about five seconds.

Repeat this exercise ten times.

SHOULDERS There are a couple of ways to work out your shoulders while just sitting in your car. Shoulder shrugs may make you feel a little ridiculous, but it is a great way to exercise your traps.

Simply pull your shoulders up to your neck and told it there for five seconds, and then release.

Continue this motion ten times. After, try some shoulder rolls forward and then backward for ten seconds each.

THIGHS To work out your thighs while in the car, squeeze your legs together as tight as you can, and then release slowly. Make sure to leave just a little bit of tension between your thighs the entire time. Repeat this exercise about ten times.

NECK It is important to constantly stretch your neck because it relieves stress and tension which can lead to a lot of pain. It is also a really simple

workout that can be done anywhere. Just lean your head to one side and lightly hold your head there for about 20 seconds. Do the same thing to the other side. Then lean your head forward trying to get your chin to touch your chest. Hold it there for about 20 seconds. Finish this stretch by gently rolling your neck in each direction a few times.

ARMS After driving for a long period of time, stretching out your arms is a great way to

release tension. Place your hands on the steering wheel and push forward, allowing your arms to extend as much as they can.

ABS Working out your abs is another workout that your passengers probably would not notice you doing. Just tighten your stomach muscles and hold it for about ten seconds. Repeat this for several times. Make sure to breathe in through your nose and breathe out through your mouth.

If you choose to exercise while operating a moving vehicle, please be aware of the potential dangers. Use common sense. We do not encourage exercising while the vehicle is in motion.

When it comes to applying makeup, there is plenty of controversy on the most effective way to make your skin look natural and smooth. The infamous Beauty Blender sponge is no doubt the most popular applicator. However, how different is it from any of the other name brand sponges or the $3 sponges that can be purchased at a drugstore?

The Beauty Blender was what started it all. The way it applies foundation and concealer leaves a smooth face without any streaks. Other popular brands for these blending sponges, such as Real Techniques, do a very similar job to that of the original Beauty Blender for a much lesser price. So, what’s the difference? For a sponge blender, the Beauty Blender brand absorbs the least amount of makeup and maximizes the amount being applied. It is a soft, fuzzy material that is egg shaped with a pointed top. The top makes it easy to apply around eyes, while the wider end blends in larger areas of the face. The softness allows the sponge to bend in any way while making sure there are no streaks.

Real Techniques is a makeup brush and applicator company that came out with their own sponge. Similarly to the Beauty Blender, their makeup sponge is soft and applies the makeup very smoothly. This blender, however, has a very different shape. Also having a pointed top to easily apply makeup around the eyes, the Real Techniques sponge has one flat side and one rounded, egg-like side. The flat side is great for patting makeup and first applying it, while the rounded side does a great job blending in the makeup.

Another way to apply makeup is a flat, oval-shaped silicone sponge which has very recently become an internet fad. It was originally created by Molly Cosmetics but is now a popular product among several makeup companies.

This product is great for anyone whose biggest pet peeve is losing some of their makeup inside of their sponge. This silicone makeup applicator absorbs absolutely no makeup, allowing the product to go a long way. A lot of people feel the silicone material does not blend in the makeup very well and leaves streaky marks around the face.

Before any of these fancy sponges came about, women have always used the basic white, triangular sponge that comes in huge packages. With these being a fraction of the cost, why would anyone purchase any other makeup applicator? The biggest difference is that the material of this type of sponge absorbs a lot more of the makeup, causing it to be used up much faster. These types of sponges are also very challenging to clean, explaining why they are commonly purchased in large packages.

These different types of makeup sponges each have their pros and cons.

Whether softness, ability to blend, absorbing of makeup or cost are your big concerns, there are plenty of options to apply makeup for anyone who can not handle the idea of using their hand.

AS SPRING SLOWLY APPROACHES, it brings

a terrible side effect: allergies. Did you know seasonal allergies affect our pets just as badly as they affect us?

Here are four signs your pet could be suffering from seasonal allergies: CONSTANT SCRATCHING

If your pet has allergies, their skin will become very itchy. For dogs and cats, their allergies more often take the form of skin irritation or inflammation, a condition referred to as allergic dermatitis. Pets will most likely start scratching excessively due to the itchiness, and they might even bite at certain areas of their bodies.

They may also rub themselves against some surfaces like the carpet, furniture, or wall.

IRRITATED SKIN

As a result of all the itching and scratching, your pet’s skin may become extremely irritated. Just like humans, pets can break out in rashes if they’ve been exposed to something that they’re allergic to. Pay close attention to the areas around their paws, as well as the belly. If you notice any red, irritated skin, it’s most likely a sign of allergies.

CONTINUAL LICKING

If you suspect that your animal has seasonal allergies, it’s best to have them examined by your veterinarian as soon as possible. You could also try to relieve your pet’s allergies at home by giving them frequent baths, vacuuming your floors, and cleaning your pet’s paws and coat after being outside.

If your pet is constantly licking parts of their bodies, it could be that something in their environment is bothering them. Your pet will do anything to try to reduce itching, including licking their skin.

Unfortunately, biting, licking and scratching can cause open sores and scabs. Sores can become infected, which can result in making your pet even more uncomfortable.

Pets with allergies also tend to have problems with their ears. The ear canals could become itchy and inflamed, as well as infected with yeast or bacteria. This may lead to hair loss around the ears, head tilting, or constant ear scratching. For cats and dogs, symptoms of ear infections include scratching, odor, discharge, redness, swelling, and crusts or scabs.

Over the last few issues we’ve talked about Orlando’s white hot commercial real estate market. In this issue, I want to discuss the benefits of Triple Net Lease Investing AKA “NNN” deals. This is one of the most popular type of commercial real estate investment. The NNN stands for Net, Net, Net. You will hear some refer to it as “Triple Net” deals.

When you subtract the $19,164.53 mortgage payment from the monthly base rent payment of $36,106.25, you’re left with a monthly positive cash flow of $16,941.72. That figure will go up 3% annually while the tenant pays for the real estate taxes, all the insurance, and all maintenance of the property. Under the deal’s annual base rent timeline, the investor will have broken even in 10.3 years. Then the owner/investor will go from making $16,941.72 a month to making $48,523.32 a month because there will no longer be a mortgage on the asset.

Over the life of the tenant’s lease, the owner/ investor will have collected $8,058,343.41 over 15 years without spending a penny on ownership costs.

Regardless of the size of your investment capital, there is a Triple Net Lease Investment out there in your price range. With benefits like these, it is easy to see why Triple Net Lease Investments are often the most valuable player of an investor’s investment portfolio.

Losses Due to Bad Advice From Your Broker?

t the time this article was authored, the Nasdaq closed at record highs that haven’t been seen since the Dotcom Bubble in 1999.

Wall Street doesn’t seem to be bothered by the onslaught of breaking news from Washington – or, more likely, the market is trending upward due to the anticipation of “shifts in fiscal policy that will stimulate growth and perhaps raise earnings” per Federal Reserve chief Janet Yellen (as reported by money.cnn.com).

Some strategists are taking a cautious approach, however, opining that the market may be overdone and is subject to correction in the near future. This could lead to substantial losses for those heavily invested in the current bullish market.

Generally, investors hire financial advisors, brokers and brokerage firms to make sound investment decisions for the investor. The relationship between the advisor and the investor is much like that of the attorney and the client: the client trusts in the financial advisor’s knowledge and acumen in the industry, therefore a fiduciary duty flows from the advisor to the investor. Traditionally, the investor will work with the advisor to identify his or her investment goal, and the advisor will make recommendations and take action to further the goals identified.

Seems easy enough, but oftentimes advisors make investment decisions with their clients’ funds that may be motivated by their own financial gain. Perhaps the broker, encouraged by the bullish market, makes several risky investment decisions for a client who has a financial goal of long-term, low risk gains. Perhaps that broker was wrong, and ends up losing a substantial amount, or maybe even all of that client’s money. What then? Does the investor have recourse to recoup the losses in this hypothetical?

Yes, recourse exists. Typically when an investor signs a contract with a broker or brokerage firm, the contract contains a mandatory arbitration clause, which requires any dispute to be resolved by and through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”). Investors should familiarize themselves with the possibility of pursuing recoupment of losses resulting from potential mismanagement of funds by his or her broker or financial advisor. There are many ways in which a financial advisor can be held responsible for mismanaging investments, but most claims fall under the “Breach of Fiduciary Duty” cause of action. In the event of a potential Breach of Fiduciary Duty

claim against one’s financial advisor, it is important to remember that claims must be filed within six (6) years from the date of the transaction or occurrence; what constitutes a “transaction or occurrence” depends on the factual circumstances of the case. Obviously, claims relating to mismanagement of investments are highly complex; often times quite a lot of money is at stake. Don’t assume arbitration is like a mediation: Phil Snyderburn, a veteran securities attorney with Snyderburn, Rioshi and Swann, emphasizes that binding arbitration is indeed an adversarial proceeding, with “each stage of the process requiring execution and highlevel decision making processes, weighing costs and benefits and anticipating consequences.”

Based on statistics published by FINRA in 2016, 61% of all claims were settled during the arbitration process, meaning the investor/claimant most likely walked away with some form of recoupment of loss in exchange for the dismissal of the case. It’s only reasonable to assume the cases that are settled are handled by experienced securities arbitration attorneys; to proceed without one – for either the broker or the investor - would undermine the chances for a fair outcome. Arbitration is much more affordable than litigation, which is yet another benefit – particularly to those who may have already suffered losses due to trigger-happy brokers. And hey, not all brokers are bad, but when the transaction seems contrary to the investment goal discussed, it’s always wise to look a little deeper – FINRA has your back.

While in celebration they have worked with Florida Hospital at Celebration Health participating in Health Fairs, They also have worked with Disney fitting many of their characters with contact lenses and have done one film and supplied eyewear for several commercials. They have worked with the Atlanta Braves during their Spring Training.

Dr. Margaret Grand is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Florida Optometric Association. She has served as an examiner for the Florida Board of Optometry. She is an active member of Vision Source.

Dr. Margaret Grand is past president of the Rotary Club of Celebration and past president of the Celebration Area Council for the Osceola Chamber of Commerce.

They also fit lenses for astigmatism, bifocal, and theatrical contact lenses. Their optical is a beautiful area consisting of over 1,300 frames to choose from. They carry many designer frames and sunglasses. Some of the designers carried consist of Judith Lieber, Oliver Peoples, Paul Smith, Miu Miu, Tom Ford, Mont Blanc, Prada, Gucci, John Varvatos, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Oakley. The office has a finishing lab where glasses can be made in the office. There is No Right to Privacy in Social Media The use of the internet and various forms of social media such as Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat as well as text messaging have impacted not only personal relationships but also employment, dating, and criminal laws.

I have seen the adverse consequences as a result of people sharing information through the various forms of social media.

Jobs have been lost due to employers, supervisors or customers viewing communications thoughtlessly sent to friends, coworkers or customers via text or email. People often use these forms of communications instead of talking on the phone or in person without considering the permanent nature of emails and text messages.

There are major differences between verbal communications and messages in our modern media. When we speak with each other inflection, sarcasm, and non-verbal forms of communication impact the message and put a message into context.

When sending an email or text message, even if something is meant in a kidding manner, it may be perceived differently than intended. When viewed by an employer, the email may cause the sender to be fired.

Sending pictures or comments to friends with the understanding that the communications or pictures will not go any further is dangerous. Anything sent over the Internet or on social media is not going to disappear and may be shared with others whom the originator did not intend.

People send pictures of themselves in various compromising positions to friends via email and social media. The sending of a picture which reflects an individual under 18 years of age may constitute

a crime even if it is sent or shared by a person who is under 18 years of age.

Often tragic consequences result from sending embarrassing or compromising photographs. People must remember that emails do not go away and that they may come back to embarrass the originator or even subject a person to criminal investigation.

Posting your whereabouts on social media can have unintended consequences.

Hackers or others with access through friends may determine that an individual is away from home. The unscrupulous may use information to plan a burglary of a home knowing that the owners are out for the evening or on vacation as seen by their posts.

The bottom line is that everyone should assume that whatever is posted can be viewed by others now and will remain available forever. You should establish rules as to what to post, and what not to post, on social media. One rule should be no emails or posting if you are mad, upset or otherwise unable to properly appreciate your comments. Failure to do so can be a potential source of embarrassment or worse.

There is no right to privacy in anything posted or shared on the Internet even if sent to an individual who is a close friend or spouse. As Benjamin Franklin said, three people can keep a secret if two are dead.

Today, however, the secret is available to all via the Internet.
