IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

STYLE EVENTS, NEWS & GOSSIP FROM AROUND ORLANDO

Summer is upon us and the month of June promises to be filled with a variety of fun-filled events for all! Before we dive into all the city has to offer though, let’s take a look back at the adventures we shared in May. Here are all the highlights, just in case you missed it!

Year after year, the Runway To Hope Spring Fashion Soirée never fails to bring an unforgettable evening of bravery and beauty to the city of Orlando. On May 4th, this beloved event returned to one of the country's largest and most beautiful ballrooms at Rosen Shingle Creek, a proud corporate sponsor of the event. Co-founders Mark and Josie NeJame established Runway to Hope in 2010 and it has since grown to become an inspiring, truly signature fundraising event. Now in its 12th year, the highlight of the evening is a special fashion show featuring incredible and brave children, ages 2 to 18, all who are currently battling or have overcome cancer. The courageous children walk the runway arm in arm with one of the dozens of national and local celebrity escorts including Founder of Style Magazines, Sven Bode. This year’s celebrity co-hosts, Johnny Magic and Central Florida news anchors, emceed the night and led the audience in celebrating the strength and hope of these beautiful children. Consider joining all of us at Style Magazines in helping to support Runway To Hope’s mission and these amazing children by visiting www.runwaytohope.org.

Ancient Chinese wisdom gave birth to everything from medical innovations to opera, dance, architecture and even martial arts, but after decades of communist rule, much of this divinely inspired culture has been destroyed or forgotten. From May 8-11, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts brought the magnificence of five thousand years of civilization back to life on stage with Shen Yun 2024. Through breathtaking dance and music, Shen Yun’s artists told of a time when divine beings walked upon the earth, leaving behind a culture that inspired generations. Each performance consisted of about 20 pieces, quickly moving from one legend, region, or dynasty to the next with tales of courage that left audience members feeling touched and uplifted. Shen Yun was a brilliant artistic revival and celebration of China’s rich cultural heritage.

May 12th was the final day to experience Glass in Flight 2 after Harry P. Leu Gardens extended the remaining show dates of their popular glass and steel sculpture exhibit. Included with general admission, the experience consisted of an amazing outdoor sculpture exhibit featuring largerthan-life flying insects hand-crafted into 28 works of art with Dalle de Verre glass and steel. Created by nationally known sculptor, Alex Heveri, each piece captured the essence of flight. Sunlight through the colored glass mimicked the

transparency and iridescence of insect wings, intensifying the illusion of movement and life. The exhibit wove together the beauty of art with the science of nature.

Orlando Fringe is a 14-day immersive cultural experience featuring over 2,000 ticketed performances spanning every genre imaginable, such as dance, spoken word, musicals, comedy and much more. From May 14th-27th, the beloved festival returned to Loch Haven Park with highlights including an outdoor music festival, Visual Fringe (pieces of art on display throughout festival grounds), Kids Fringe (weekend play and entertainment for the young and young-at-heart) and more. Now in its 33rd year, it is the oldest Fringe festival in the US and, with its lottery based selection, the event offered attendees a variety of experiences they wouldn’t find anywhere else. The festival prides itself on providing artists with financial vitality by giving all the money earned from ticket sales directly back to the artist themselves.

On May 14th, the brand new Aloft Hotels Lake Nona Althea Events Center was transformed into a world where culinary excellence met artistic expression at Taste of Nona, the Lake Nona region’s premier food and wine festival. Attendees were invited to embark on a gastronomic journey, sipping and savoring their way through a diverse array of flavors, textures, and culinary innovations. From delectable appetizers to mouthwatering main courses and indulgent desserts, Taste of Nona showcased the region's culinary diversity and innovation, making it a haven for food enthusiasts! The extraordinary event promised a fusion of bohemian flair and sophisticated tastes, creating an immersive experience that tantalized the senses and elevated the palate of those in attendance. Live music and performances by local artists added a dynamic energy to the atmosphere, creating a lively backdrop for socializing. Taste of Nona wasn't just a food and wine festival; it was a sensory journey, a celebration of creativity, and a gathering of kindred spirits who appreciate the finer things in life.

The nation’s largest horror convention is back!

Spooky Empire has been delivering the best sights, sounds and screams to Halloween lovers since 2003 and this year’s event was no exception. Each and every year, their celebrity guest list keeps their creepy crowd glued to their seats with Q+As, Forums, Music, Meet & Greet Opportunities, and Autographs. From May 17th-19th, Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive was jam packed with countless booths and vendors from throughout the U.S. with Art, Music, Movies, Home Decor, Costumes and more all available for purchase. Well over 50 tattoo artists were also onsite for Spooky Empire’s concurrent Tattoo Festival so everyone was guaranteed to find an artist to match their personal ink visions. Needless to say, there was something happening at all hours of the weekend which satiated even the most diehard aficionados of all things horror.

As Sanford's oldest and largest music festival since 2006, West End Trading Company's Annual Hurricane Party keeps growing every year with 5 stages and more than 20 bands in the avenues and streets of Historic Downtown Sanford. With everything from vendors and live art to food trucks and more, the Hurricane Party is a way of paying homage to Mother Nature for a tranquil hurricane season. Presented by Curaleaf, the 17th Annual Hurricane Party Music Festival returned on May 18th and was headlined by Fortunate Youth, Authority Zero, The Slackers and others who kept the energy up all weekend long. VIP ticket holders received free drinks, a commemorative T-shirt, lanyard, and more to help mark the return of the beloved event.

The month of May also saw the return of the wild and popular Gatorpalooza event at the “Alligator Capital of the World. Gatorpalooza, Gatorland’s annual event which also celebrates the park’s birthday, returned to the park from May 18th-19th to kick off their 75th Anniversary celebrations. The 5th Annual event featured music, specialty food and craft vendors, artisans, games, appearances by the Gatorland Vlog Team and all the alligators and awesomeness that a day at Gatorland has to offer! Best of all, this extra fun was included with regular admission with Florida residents receiving an additional 50% off

purchase price. It was their way of giving back to the community and delivering on Gatorland’s mission of providing Fun, Smiles, and Special Memories to all their guests. Gator Gully Splash Park, also included in park admission, was a great way for kids and adults to cool down and have fun in between the Gatorpalooza action.

The month of May is known as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and during this period, Asian Americans celebrate their rich culture and heritage. As such, the Asian American Heritage Council was excited to host the 2024 Asian Cultural Festival on May 18th and even partnered with the City of Ocoee at Lakeshore Center and the Lakefront Park for the free, in-person event. This year’s celebration showcased a wide variety of Asian American cultures and talents from Central Florida’s Asian American ethnic groups. Attendees experienced a variety of booths showcasing business vendors, ethnic cuisines and merchandise that were all representative of Asia. A beautiful cultural show was also presented by numerous Asian countries including China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and more.

Hosted by the City of Casselberry, the Classic Rock and Car Show was a live music event with hundreds of classic cars, food trucks, and vendors at Lake Concord Park. Rockit Fly, led by frontman Pedro Espada, headlined the May 25th show with unforgettable performances of various 1980s hits ranging from Journey and Def Leppard to Guns N’ Roses and their own original music. The opening act for the night was Sound Theory, a high-energy five piece band that played covers from the 1970s through the 1990s. Besides the incredible musical performances, there were also more than 150 classic cars, muscle cars, and hot rods for car enthusiasts to enjoy including a contest for best car. As part of the Memorial Weekend celebration, the city once again honored all veterans for their service with a color guard display and plaque. More than 20 food, beverage, and product vendors were also on hand to ensure the event was a hit for all in attendance!

College Degrees

While it would make sense for Hollywood stars to have degrees in the performing arts or music, there are actually a surprising amount of celebrities with impressive college degrees that oftentimes have no relation to their career of choice! Whether it was a fallback degree they sought while trying to climb the ladder or just something they desired to achieve alongside their stardom, here is our list of eight celebrities with college degrees (or attempted college degrees) that will surprise you.

CELEBRITY SOUP
Who says the pursuit of fame and academia can’t go hand in hand?

Weird Al

It might be easy to assume most comedians are high-school dropouts, but there is actually a certain level of intelligence involved in writing clever comedy that many don’t realize. Weird Al, known legally as Alfred Yankovic, is a singer famous for his satirical takes on current events and pop culture, but did you know that he actually has a degree in architecture from California Polytechnic State University? As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Weird Al also graduated high school as the class valedictorian so take heart if you have a child who wants to be a comedian when they grow up! They may just end up with their own biopic and a cool net worth of $20 million.

Ken Jeong

If there was a poster child for ‘laughter is the best medicine’ it would be comedian Ken Jeong—or should I say Dr. Ken Jeong? That’s right, the famed funny man from Community and The Hangover film series is also a Doctor of Medicine! Jeong got his undergraduate from Duke University and went off to UNC School of Medicine for his M.D. His residency was completed at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans where he dabbled in acting and comedy, but it was his time at Duke that first exposed Jeong to theater and even led him to briefly major in acting.

J.K. Rowling

If this author’s name doesn’t immediately bring images of Hogwarts and wizards to your mind, then you might want to come out of that rock you’ve been living under and pick up a Harry Potter book! If you do so, you may even notice a touch of French influence throughout the series and this was no coincidence. J.K. Rowling earned a Bachelor of Arts in French at the University of Exeter and has spoken publicly about the influence of French

culture on her writing. Not only did she create Beauxbatons, the French wizarding academy located in South France…even some of the spells in the series have a French influence!

Gene Simmons

Let’s change course and move on to someone who we can most definitely say was not influenced by their degree while making a name for themselves as an acclaimed rock star! KISS frontman Gene Simmons was raised in New York City after immigrating to the United States from Israel with his mother. Before he was known for his face paint theatrics and iconic tongue, Simmons attended Richmond College and then Sullivan County Community College where he received a bachelor’s degree in education. Who would’ve thought someone who goes by a stage persona of "The Demon" could be the teacher-type at heart?

Lisa Kudrow

Ready for more proof of why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover?

Let’s take an example from one of the longest-running sitcoms of all time! If you’ve seen even one episode of Friends, you probably remember Phoebe Buffay as the blond, ditzy hippie portrayed by Lisa Kudrow. For Kudrow, the role couldn’t be further from the truth of who she really was considering she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Vassar College. Not only has Kudrow actively worked as a scientist, she is even credited for her work in research on cluster headaches in regard to left-handed individuals—a passion project she worked on all while pursuing her acting career on the side.

Ashton Kutcher

How about a ditzy male character this time? Let wind the clock back to the 70s… well, not the real 70s. We’re going back to 1998 when That

‘70s Show was released and the world was first introduced to Kelso, an aloof and simple-minded character portrayed by Ashton Kutcher. In real life, Kutcher attended the University of Iowa and initially studied Biochemical Engineering in the hopes of doing significant research toward a cure for his twin brother's heart condition. Although the degree was never completed due to his career pursuits, Kutcher remains optimistic that a cure will be developed one day.

Pauley Perrette

Time to switch gears again and talk about a couple celebrities whose on screen roles are actually a pretty accurate personification of their college degrees! Pauley Perrette portrayed the lovable, laboratory-obsessed scientist Abby Sciuto on NCIS, but one thing that helped her land the role was her real-life experience in the field of Criminology. Perrette started studying criminal justice at Valdosta State University before further advancing her education at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Her acting career took off before she could finish a graduate degree, but something tells me she’s happy with where her life ended up going!

Mayim Bialik

We saved one of our favorite examples for last! Mayim Bialik wasn’t simply pretending to be a genius when she played the role of Amy Farrah Fowler on Big Bang Theory--she is very much a genius in real life too! Bialik, who has been acting since she was a child, earned her PhD in neuroscience from University of California, Los Angeles. She did take time off between her undergraduate and graduate studies to focus on her acting career, but it helped this real life brainiac land the perfect on screen role to show off her intelligence!

OUT & ABOUT

The year is 1912, Spring has recently sprung. While some are preparing to stay local for social season in England, about 2,240 people are getting ready to embark across the sea, on a voyage to New York amidst the R.M.S Titanic.

At TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition, you can step into a world of wonder, a world that takes you back 112 years ago to day one on April 10, 1912, when thousands made their way up the Southampton White Star Line Dock to board the Titanic, to day five of the journey, April 14, 1912 - the last grand dinner, and eventually, to the final moments of the unforgettable Titanic.

Before you travel back in time, you are greeted with a White Star Line boarding pass that allows you permission to come aboard the grand Ship of Dreams. For a day you assume the role of a real passenger. Listed are your name, age, class, final destination and reason for travel, along with an interesting fact about you. At the end of the tour, you are met with your fate. Were you among one of the roughly 706 survivors, or were you amongst the 1,500 who unfortunately did not arrive in New York?

You can embark on the journey guiding yourself, or you can opt for a guided tour, ranging in an hour to hour and a halflength in time.

As you enter the hallways of the Exhibition, you may be greeted by those in character aboard the Titanic, like first female theatre producer on Broadway, Mrs. Henry B. Harris, or other artifact experts.

And, as you step into each room, you uncover another piece of history. The Exhibition features more than 300 authentic artifacts and historical memorabilia. Some of the rooms are full-scale re-creations of actual landmarks on the Titanic, for example, the Verandah Café, the Grand Staircase, and the First-Class Parlor Suite.

You are now a part of the Edwardian era, a time when innovations were booming and

men could be found dressed in three-piece suits, while women would wear their most ostentatious hats and ribbon-belted dresses. And the Titanic, well, it was no exception. You are shown the many advanced features of the Ship, like the cold and hot faucets from a bathroom on deck during a time when not even all homes had such features. Or, the precise tile flooring that, for even a basement in Third Class, looked as lavish as if it were hand-crafted today.

And, if you really want to get into character, you can even elect for the Titanic Teatime package afternoon teatime experience exemplifying the Edwardian tea traditions surrounded by elegance in the First Class Dining Saloon. The experience features a

The

selection of sandwiches, pastries and sweets, as well as the latest gossip from memorable Titanic characters. After tea, you are on your way to a self-guided tour through the artifact galleries of the TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition.

Or, you can partake in the Titanic Dinner Gala, as I witnessed, for a memorable experience that takes you back to the last supper on board the Titanic. Dinner Gala begins with a tour led by some of Titanic’s most memorable characters including the Unsinkable Molly Brown, movie star Dorothy Gibson, and Captain Edward J. Smith. All the characters do an amazing job

at bringing you right back to the last night aboard the Titanic. The entire experience is 3 hours and it is well worth it. You are presented with a multi-course dinner, and a performance by the very notable Titanic personalities, each giving you a glimpse of what it was like that very night in 1912.

My inner child was just as excited touring the galleries of the TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition as I was the day I was on my way to watch James Cameron’s Titanic in 1997. And the experience lived up to the expectation. Near the end of the tour, you can even touch an iceberg that replicates the temperature of the water on that fateful night. For those especially interested in the most immersive reinvention of the Titanic, the Exhibition is one of the closest reimagined experiences brought to life. In summary, the experience is a combination of history, education and entertainment - there’s something in store for everyone ready to embark on the journey.

Thousands of Titanic passengers boarded carrying leather suitcases like this one. Almost all paper and clothing recovered were found within leather artifacts such as suitcases, wallets, and satchels. The tanning process made leather inedible to microorganisms, thus affording a measure of protection to the contents.

In today's health-conscious world, the age-old adage "you are what you eat" holds more weight than ever. While it may sound cliché, the saying encapsulates a profound truth: the food we consume directly affects our physical health, mental well-being, and overall vitality.

Nutrition is the cornerstone of human existence. Every cell, tissue, and organ in our bodies relies on the nutrients we consume to function optimally. From energy production to immune system regulation, the quality and quantity of our diet play a crucial role in determining our health outcomes.

Research continually underscores the importance of a balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and macronutrients. Consuming whole, nutrient-dense foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats provides the body with the raw materials it needs to thrive.

Moreover, dietary choices impact not only physical health but also cognitive function and mental health. Studies have linked poor nutrition to an increased

The Science Behind Nutritional Impact on Body & Mind

risk of mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline. Conversely, diets high in antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to support brain health and reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases.

The gut-brain connection further highlights the intricate relationship between diet and mental well-being. The gut microbiome, a diverse community of microorganisms residing in the digestive tract, plays a pivotal role in regulating mood, cognition, and behavior. A diet high in fiber and fermented foods nurtures a healthy gut microbiome, promoting mental clarity and emotional resilience.

Beyond individual health outcomes, dietary patterns also influence broader societal issues such as environmental sustainability and food security. The production and consumption of certain foods contribute to greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and water scarcity. By adopting plantbased diets and supporting sustainable agriculture practices, individuals can mitigate their environmental impact and promote a more equitable food system.

However, navigating the complexities of nutrition can be daunting in a landscape saturated with conflicting information and fad diets. It's essential to approach dietary choices with mindfulness, emphasizing whole foods over processed alternatives and prioritizing variety and balance.

Furthermore, cultivating a healthy relationship with food involves more than just physical nourishment. It encompasses cultural, social, and emotional dimensions, acknowledging the pleasure and communal aspect of eating while honoring individual dietary preferences and needs.

In conclusion, the saying "you are what you eat" serves as a powerful reminder of the profound influence of nutrition on our health and well-being. By making informed dietary choices that prioritize whole, nutrient-dense foods, we can nourish our bodies, support our minds, and contribute to a healthier, more sustainable future for all.

Highly Anticipated Restaurant from Celebrity Chef Fabio Viviani Now Open In Orlando

Adding to Orlando's new restaurant scene is Chuck Lager’s legendary kitchen. The concept was co-created by Top Chef alum Fabio Viviani and restauranters Michael and Craig Colby. Viviani is a celebrity chef, hospitality developer, restaurant and bestselling cookbook author and TV host. He was voted a fan favorite on the bravo network of Top Chef: All Stars. Here’s a quick chat with celebrity chef Fabio Vivani at his recent grand opening celebration.

Josie:

We’re known right now for having a big food scene in Orlando. We've always been associated with theme parks and now we're getting all the attention with so many great new restaurants. Where do you see yourself and Chuck Lager fitting into this new food scene?

Fabio:

We have a neighborhood concept in a known tourist area. I am known for elevated dining, I have a lot of one off, very higher-end restaurants and then you know in Orlando there's a lot of fast food, fast casual. What we try to do with the Chuck Lager concept is to bring the hospitality and the quality of a higher end establishment at a price point that defeats all the crowd and the local that want to go out get a great meal without breaking the bank.

Josie:

Chuck Lager is an American food concept restaurant.

Fabio:

Legendary Kitchen is our tag line. The food was the result of all the people involved in the business bringing the best and greatest dishes. So, we ask ourselves, what you would like to eat, American food, great comfort food, a hint of Italian.

The idea is to create food that everybody is familiar with, and serve it in a nice setting. Everybody understands American Tavern. Tavern is really a combination of a lot of different cultures. My company is a company of many chefs, so we made good food approachable.

Josie:

You’re known as being a fan favorite on Top Chef, so what would be your fan favorite for one of your dishes at Chuck Lager?

Fabio:

I think we got to go with the meatballs and the grilled cheese sandwich. We have some of the greatest grilled cheese that you've ever had. Our brussel sprouts are legit, crazy good.

Josie:

Tell me how you came up with some of these recipes at Chuck Lager?

Fabio:

I've been in the business for 25 years. I've tasted everything once, at least. Some of the things that stand out are some of the most classic foods in America: wings, burger,

grilled cheese, pasta salad, nachos. All the foods that get influenced by culture you could find at Chuck Lager. This is really the result of a long-lasting career as a chef, as well as the ability to feed the masses.

Josie:

Any plans to expand Chuck Lager or add a new restaurant?

Fabio:

There is always room for a good restaurant. I own and operate over 50 restaurants across the nation, most of them are more elevated dining. Chuck is a place where I want to take my wife and kids, and I just want to chill with a burger, beer and the world's greatest fries.

We hope we become a staple in the community. Yes, we are on the everybody’s road. We're not too far away from the neighborhood. We're not too far away from the local businesses. And we hope that you guys will really support the brand and have a good time with us.

Chuck Lager is located at 8151 International Drive for lunch and dinner and is open 7 days a week with Happy hour available Monday- Friday 3:00pm-6:00pm. Don’t forget to try their favorite specialty cocktail, the Cotton Candy Cosmo. And Chef Fabio was right, the grilled cheese was absolutely incredible.

We had the honor of catching up with PatBO’s founder and creative director, Patricia Bonaldi, to delve deeper into her journey and vision for the brand:

Would you walk us through your creative process when designing a new collection?

I often say I’m a mix of ever-changing ideas—I really think everyone’s got a bit of creativity in them, it just shows up in different ways. When I’m in my creative zone, I love to soak up everything around me and find those little sparks of inspiration in everyday things. As a designer, my desk is a real collage of textures. I’m always playing around with fabric swatches, imagining how they might come together. What I love most is the process of layering them up, mixing and matching. The real challenge, but also the best part, is figuring out how to make all these elements work together— like blending embroidered flowers with different trims and textures. That’s where the magic happens for me.

What inspired your Summer 2024 collection and how do you continue to stay inspired?

For our Summer 2024 collection, we’ve dipped into a blend of fashion and art with a good dose of nostalgia. Every time I design a new line, my goal is to bring back distinct vibes from the past and give them

a fresh twist. This time, we’re channeling the 90s and 2000s, infusing those years with new energy and adding silhouettes that are comfy, versatile, and chic. Our prints are really special—they feature exclusive hand-drawn designs that combine artistic influences with the music and trends of those decades. We’ve transformed these elements into unique watercolors and graphics, making each piece a wearable piece of art. Staying inspired is all about mixing these creative ingredients to reimagine something timeless yet new.

Rumor has it, you love being at the happiest place on Earth. What is your favorite thing to do at Walt Disney World?

It’s tough to narrow down my favorite thing to do at Disney, because every part of it is magical! But if I really had to choose, I’d say just wandering through the various theme parks is my top pick. There’s something special about soaking in the unique atmosphere of each park—exploring the exciting rides, meeting those iconic characters, and just getting lost in the magic. Every visit feels like a brand-new, unforgettable adventure.

Are there any exciting new collaborations or upcoming projects for PatBO?

I’m fully immersed in preparing for NYFW in September. We’re exploring various themes and planning to unveil something surprising at this runway show. Additionally, I’m excited to share that we’ll have an exciting collaboration with a dear friend whom I deeply admire later this year. Stay tuned for more details coming soon!

From its roots in Brazil to its global reach, PatBO continues to captivate and inspire with its exquisite craftsmanship and bold designs. Lindo, maravilhoso (that’s Portuguese for beautiful, marvelous!).

Everyone loves a good tote bag; the primary purpose is to just carry everything with you at once, yesss!!! They are reusable, strong, practical, and adaptable. Canvas tote bags are composed of durable cotton or linen fabric. It also goes with every mood and circumstance. Not to mention how helpful it is when we're running errands throughout our hectic days.

Bold Belt Buckles:

The belt trend's comeback offers more benefits than merely a useful accessory. Statement belts improve body proportions and add flair to any ensemble by tightening the waist and establishing a focal point. Belts are moving from purely functional to focal points of outfits. Big, elaborate buckles with elaborate patterns or striking shapes are becoming more and more popular; they can make an ordinary dress or blazer stand out.

Futuristic / Bold Eyewear:

Wearing vibrant frames, larger proportions, and bold forms like the traditional cat-eye and aviator, you can confidently embrace summer. This summer, your eyewear should be a focal point that draws attention rather than just a functional accessory. In 2024, eyewear will have futuristic designs and technologically advanced frames. Anticipate seeing materials that change color in response to light or temperature changes, as well as eyewear with LED features and unique lens forms. These futuristic designs serve as discussion starters in addition to providing eye protection. Summer 2024 accessory trends include geometric frames, like sunglasses in the shapes of hexagons or octagons. Self-expression is at the core of fashion, so embrace your eccentricity and choose eyewear that really suits you.

Double-Layered Necklaces:

You can never go wrong when it comes to jewelry; simply keep up with the latest trends. Double-layered necklaces are the must-have item for this summer. Thinlayered necklaces were a common sight on the seasonal runways. Double-layered necklaces will help you stand out from the crowd. Take it a step further. Mix varying lengths to give the appearance of a longer

neck. The good news is that the layered necklaces will look amazing with whatever look you choose. Thus, you have the option of going traditional, denim, or punk.

Vintage Revival:

As fashionistas look to the past for inspiration, vintage and retro accessories are becoming more and more popular. Whether it's a mid-century classic watch or neon earrings with an '80s vibe, vintage accessories give contemporary clothing depth and personality. The vogue for retro items fits with a larger cultural movement that favors sustainable development and ethical consumption. This change encourages a more deliberate and contemplative approach to personal style while simultaneously challenging the throwaway nature of quick fashion and paying tribute to the workmanship of bygone times.

Don't forget to change things in a way that makes you feel most at ease. Your style must be noteworthy; there's no reason not to refresh your outfit now that you know what's fashionable for summer 2024. I'm excited to watch how you accessorize and show off your unique personality!

For these listed trending accessories, I highly recommend my go-to shops. LUXURIATE IN FIRST-CLASS TREATMENT AT GARZA BLANCA RESORT & SPA LOS CABOS

TAFER Hotels & Resorts’ Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Los Cabos is as dreamy as it gets and as soon as you arrive, you will see why. The award-winning, including AAA’s Four Diamond Award, resort’s proximity to Tinseltown has made them a convenient haven for celebrities to escape to for some much-needed R&R and fun in the sun. The great news is that guests need not be rich and famous to receive VIP treatment at this luxurious, allinclusive beachfront resort.

Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Los Cabos spared no expense when they created this chic resort, from the grand open-air lobby, stellar accommodations, and gourmet cuisine to their accommodating staff, world-class Spa Imagine and abundance of heated pools (there are 8, including an adults-only rooftop infinity pool). Designed for the best photo opps, you won’t be able to stop snapping photos…beneath their famous Orange Tree, posing in the see-through pool, lounging in a hammock, and overlooking the ocean from the infinity pool. It’s giving glamorous tropical-oasis vibes, and we are here for it.

ORLANDOSTYLEMAGAZINE.COM | 59 TRAVEL ‘N STYLE

All suites boast a modern, marine-life aesthetic –a light color palette punctuated with warm wood tones and pops of bright color– and private terraces outfitted with hammocks. There are one, two, and threebedroom suites; swim-up suites; and fourbedroom oceanfront penthouse suites (that accommodate up to 12 guests) to choose from. And the panoramas of the cerulean ocean are simply breathtaking. Their 24-hour room service is such a treat and among my favorite perks at the resort. Is there anything more sublime than waking up to a gourmet breakfast delivered to your private terrace? Mimosas simply taste better when imbibed alfresco with crashing waves in sight.

The one-bedroom suite has a living area; fully stocked kitchen with beverages and treats;

washer and dryer, and a guest bathroom. The nice-sized bedroom is appointed with TAFER’s signature king mattress fitted with the most comfortable bedding and a spacious en suite bathroom housing a separate rain shower, freestanding bathtub, and automated bidet. All guests are assigned a personal butler to cater to their special requests, such as having a relaxing bubble bath drawn for you right before your return from dinner or having a decadent dessert waiting in your suite after a spa treatment. This sort of experience is what dreams are made of.

The all-inclusive, 5-star resort serves a variety of exceptional cuisines, from fine dining offerings to casual beach fare, along with signature alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There is an impressive list of

restaurants onsite, including Blanca Blue, serving innovative Mexican; Bocados Steak House; Hiroshi, serving Japanese Mexican fusion; NOI Italian Terraza, and their beachside Food Truck, serving fresh seafood. Your butler can assist with your dining reservations, which are strongly encouraged. And the restaurants are absolutely gorgeous. Each space has standout features like a heavenly outdoor terrace, robata station, lobster aquarium, and show kitchen.

Garza Blanca’s masterful chefs have crafted menus that are not only innovative, but truly showcase the flavors and textures of the food served. Their menus were designed to impress even the most discerning foodies. Blanca Blue tantalizes tastebuds with their crème brûlée foie gras, duck carnitas, and

adobo roasted octopus. Bocados Steak House wows with their steak tartare, tomahawk, and short rib; ask the Meat Sommelier for recommendations. The sushi and seafood are fresh and tasty. The dry-aged meats are tender and bursting with flavor. And the presentation is on par with the finest of restaurants. This entire gastronomic experience is included in the Gourmet Culinary All-Inclusive Plan, with the exception of a few premium menu items, including lobster, premium cut meats, Moët champagne, and liquor and wine by the bottle from the Cellar Collection. Standard gratuity is also included in this plan. When the sun is overhead, there is no better place to be in the resort than in their palm-tree-flecked pool area. The swim-up bar and poolside attendees enable you to enjoy appetizing bites and drinks while you

sunbathe and cool off in the pool. With the beach just steps away, why not opt for a picnic in the sand? For the best view, head to the adults-only rooftop pool. A bit more peaceful than below, this is the perfect spot to recline in a lounge chair, crack open your latest read, and sip your favorite tropical cocktail (mine is a Miami Vice) or mocktail. You can grab a bite up here, too.

While you’re here, I highly recommend participating in a fun, informative, and delicious cooking class and getting pampered in the world-class spa. If you don’t get a massage during your vacation, were you even on vacation? The resort further supports health and wellness with their yoga and Pilates classes, e-bike rides, and gym. For those seeking a little excitement and local

fun, there are several activities to partake in nearby, such as whale watching, camel tours, snorkeling, yacht charters, and a visit to Cabo San Lucas’ famous El Arco.

Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Los Cabos is the vacation destination you need in your near future –for their location and gorgeous property, stellar staff, incredible views, lovely restaurants, and VIP treatment. The resort is great for family vacations, birthday parties, romantic getaways, events, and solo trips. To receive the best rates available, book your flights and hotel accommodation all at once with the resort.

REBECCA L. WILLIAMSON & SAMANTHA J. SPANDAU

Morgan & Morgan

Rebecca L. Williamson and Samantha J. Spandau are attorneys at Morgan & Morgan in their Medical Malpractice Department. Their current cases involve claims against various specialties including nursing, hospital administration, internal medicine, emergency medicine, cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, oncology, general surgery, plastic surgery, anesthesia, infectious disease, podiatry, dentistry, and obstetrics. They evaluate each case in detail to discover surgical errors, failures to timely treat, failures to diagnose, misdiagnosis, nursing home negligence, birth injuries and wrongful death.

Originally from South Florida, Samantha’s passion for advocating for victims of medical malpractice started at a young age as her sister was born with cerebral palsy due to the negligence of medical providers. Following her passion, she graduated from the University of

Central Florida with a degree in Legal Studies before graduating with honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.

Born and raised in Central Florida, Rebecca graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice before returning home to Orlando to attend Florida A&M University College of Law. As her father worked in the administrative side of healthcare, she grew up in hospitals and always had a passion for medicine. This led to her maintaining employment throughout law school focusing on medical malpractice claims.

Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan, Samantha was a medical malpractice law clerk in South Florida, and a Certified Legal Intern in the Special Victim’s Unit at the 8th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office. Following admittance

to the Florida Bar, her legal career continued as a prosecutor for the 8th Judicial Circuit, gaining invaluable litigation experience and trying over 20 cases.

Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan, Rebecca worked for Florida’s largest insurance defense firm where she represented the interests of physicians, physician groups, surgery centers and hospitals. While defending health care providers and insurance companies, she gained valuable insight and experience, which she now uses to fight for clients who have been injured.

Rebecca and Samantha understand the serious consequences and devastating impact on individuals and families affected by medical malpractice. They focus on building strong connections with their clients and take the time to understand the intricacies of each case. While there is no excuse for medical negligence, statistics show that it is alarmingly common in the health care setting. Despite the common occurrence of medical malpractice, providers and hospitals deny responsibility and malpractice insurance companies continue to fight patients and families’ claims.

Rebecca and Samantha strongly believe in the importance for providers and hospitals to take accountability for their actions and mistakes. The outcomes of their cases allow medical malpractice survivors to have the resources they need moving forward. Whether it be full time at home care or home modifications to allow for accessibility, these outcomes make a tremendous difference in the lives of those affected.

This is why Rebecca and Samantha build each case in depth from the beginning. From the very start, they consult and retain a variety of medical experts to address standard of care, causation, and damages. It is their ultimate goal that providers, physician groups, hospitals and nursing homes not only understand the damage caused on a case-by-case basis, but the professional and systematic changes that should be implemented following.
