Dear Readers,
Let’s talk about time thieves—yes, you’ve met them. Maybe not by name, but they sneak into your day just the same. They come in all shapes, sizes, and sometimes even with a smile. And let’s be honest—time, that ever-ticking treasure, becomes even more valuable the older (and hopefully wiser) we get.
So, allow me to introduce you to my personal lineup of time thieves:
1) The Internet – Oh boy. Whether you're looking something up, researching a topic, or just clicking through one link after another... suddenly, it's dark outside. And in our business? That rabbit hole is practically part of the job description.
2) Clingy Conversationalists – You know exactly who I mean. Those folks who just won’t let you go, even when your coffee’s long gone and your to-do list is screaming for mercy.
3) Social Media – Yes, we’re guilty of feeding the beast too (Orlando Style has a solid presence), but wow… some of the content out there! Especially from the younger crowd—it’s getting bolder by the minute. The audience might love it, but let’s just say, some of us “seasoned” viewers need a moment to recover.
4) The Know-It-Alls – The ones who love to argue for the sake of being right… even when they’re not. Nothing eats up your time like a debate with someone who’s all opinion and no evidence.
5) TV Cliffhangers – Those prime-time shows that lure you in with one episode and then bam! hook you for the next one… and the next. Sure, it’s entertaining—but is it adding to your life? For some, maybe. For others… it’s a trap!
So here’s my take: Time is precious—why not spend it your way?
That’s where a great magazine (like this one!) comes in. You can read it how you like, where you like—on a cozy couch, by the pool, or cruising at 30,000 feet. It’s your moment, on your terms. Relaxing, inspiring, sometimes surprising—just ask our readers. We hear it all the time.
Here’s to taking time back—one page at a time.
Warmly,
Sven J. Bode CEO, Founder, Publisher Style Magazines

Summer is upon us and the month of June promises to be filled with a variety of funfilled events for all! Before we dive into all the city has to offer though, let’s take a look back at the adventures we shared in May. Here are all the highlights, just in case you missed it!
The city enjoyed celebrating the rich flavors and music of Mexican culture at The Promenade at Sunset Walk on May 5th for their Cinco de Mayo Street Party. There were nonstop live tunes from Rhythm Me Up and Osaka Fall while DJs Gabriel and K1X delivered to the crowd beats of pop, Merengue, Salsa, Bachata and more. There were also street performers, including the Tres Amigos, plus a selection of delicious specials, including handcrafted margaritas and mojitos at several locations in Sunset Walk.
From May 10-11, Repticon Orlando featured everything that you’ve come to love most about Repticon’s two days of fun and excitement! Ticket-holders saw live animals from around the world, purchased pets and pet products directly from the experts at amazing prices they couldn’t find anywhere else, and learned more about reptiles and exotic animals. Repticon Orlando remains the one reptile and exotic animal expo that reptile-lovers can’t afford to miss!
May 11th was the second Sunday of the month which meant it was time for Orlando Cars and Coffee! Hemmings, the world’s largest collector car marketplace, was proud to sponsor Orlando Cars and Coffee, now at its new home at Dezerland Park Orlando. The event, hosted at Orlando’s largest indoor attraction and the renowned Orlando Auto Museum, provides a unique opportunity for fans to connect, admire iconic vehicles, and celebrate car culture by gathering to share their passion for collector cars. Hemmings was excited to support this vibrant community alongside
Dezerland Park, helping to expand Orlando’s growing collector car scene. Nestled in the heart of Clermont, the Downtown Clermont Farmer’s Market has become a beloved gathering place for those seeking fresh produce, handcrafted goods, and a mimosa or craft beer. On May 11th, this free event invited locals and visitors alike to explore the vendor booths and shop for locally grown produce, seafood, coffee, baked goods and more. Those not interested in the Farmer’s Market could sip, shop and stroll downtown Clermont’s restaurants, shops, breweries and interesting boutiques.
May 10-11 and May 17-18 saw SeaWorld visitors experience the vibrant energy and rich culture of Latin heritage at Viva la Música! The festive, family-friendly Latin celebration was included with park admission and invited guests to dance to the hottest music, sample fiery flavors, shop for authentic souvenirs, and much more. Even the little ones joined in the fun with kid-friendly songs and dances for the whole family to enjoy. In between the unforgettable attractions was La Placita, a lively marketplace featuring local vendors with unique, handcrafted items. From creative crafts to one-of-a-kind treasures, it was the perfect place to find something special and support local artisans.
Year after year, the Runway To Hope Spring Fashion Soirée never fails to bring an unforgettable evening of bravery and beauty to the city of Orlando. On May 17th, this beloved event returned to one of the country’s largest and most beautiful ballrooms at Rosen Shingle Creek, a proud corporate sponsor of the event. Co-founders Mark and Josie NeJame established Runway to Hope in 2010 and it has since grown to become an inspiring, truly signature fundraising event. Now in its 13th year, the highlight of the evening is a special fashion show featuring incredible and brave children, ages 2 to 18, all who
are currently battling or have overcome cancer. The courageous children walk the runway arm in arm with one of the dozens of national and local celebrity escorts including Founder of Style Magazines, Sven Bode. Consider joining all of us at Style Magazines in helping to support Runway To Hope’s mission and these amazing children by visiting www.runwaytohope.org.
Orlando Fringe is a 14-day immersive cultural experience featuring over 2,000 ticketed performances spanning every genre imaginable, such as dance, spoken word, musicals, comedy and much more. From May 13th-26th, the beloved festival returned to Loch Haven Park with highlights including an outdoor music festival, Visual Fringe (pieces of art on display throughout festival grounds), Kids Fringe (weekend play and entertainment for the young and young-at-heart) and more. Now in its 34th year, it is the oldest Fringe festival in the US and with its lottery based selection, the event offers attendees a variety of experiences they wouldn’t find anywhere else. The festival prides itself on providing artists with financial vitality by giving all the money earned from ticket sales directly back to the artist themselves.
School’s out and the rodeo is in! The 155th Silver Spurs Rodeo took place May 30-31 and celebrated Florida’s deep rooted rodeo history. As the largest rodeo event east of the Mississippi, it was truly a fun event for the whole family with dirt-pounding action viewed from the shelter of the Sunshine State’s heat! Attendees enjoyed watching the sport of rodeo’s seven traditional events: bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, team roping, steer wrestling, and women’s barrel racing. Young cowboys even took part in junior bull riding and barrel racing plus mutton bustin. There were also interval shows from the resident rodeo clown plus a performance from the Silver Spurs Quadrille Team.

Aston Martin has redefined the luxury SUV landscape with the DBX S, a flagship model that blends supercar performance with unparalleled elegance. Unveiled on April 30, 2025, in Gaydon, this high-performance marvel builds on the legacy of the DBX707, incorporating cutting-edge technology from the forthcoming Valhalla supercar. The DBX S is not just an SUV—it’s a statement of power, precision, and prestige, continuing Aston Martin’s storied tradition of “S” badged vehicles, a lineage that began with the Vanquish S in 2004.
At the heart of the DBX S lies an upgraded 4.0-liter twinturbo V8 engine, delivering a staggering 727PS and 900Nm of torque. Enhanced with Valhalla-derived turbo technology, including larger compressor wheels, the engine offers explosive performance, propelling the DBX S from 0-62mph in just 3.3 seconds and shaving 0.3 seconds off the 0-124mph sprint. While its top speed remains a formidable 193mph, a modified exhaust system amplifies the V8’s thunderous roar, ensuring an exhilarating auditory experience that matches its dynamic prowess. This powertrain, paired with a recalibrated nine-speed automatic transmission, delivers razor-sharp responsiveness, making every drive a visceral thrill.
The DBX S isn’t just about raw power—it’s engineered for agility. Lightweight options, such as a carbon fiber roof— the largest ever fitted to an Aston Martin—reduce weight by up to 47kg and lower the center of gravity, enhancing handling precision. Optional magnesium wheels, a first for the SUV segment, further cut unsprung mass by 41 pounds, sharpening cornering dynamics. Carbon fiber accents, available for wing mirrors, side strakes, and sills, reduce weight by an additional 7kg while adding a sleek, modern aesthetic. These innovations ensure the DBX S feels as nimble as a sports car, defying its SUV proportions.
Visually, the DBX S commands attention. A dramatic new front grille and vertically stacked quad exhausts—available in gloss or matt finishes—exude aggression, while reprofiled rear bumpers and diffusers enhance aerodynamics. Distinctive “S” badges, crafted in solid metal with red-infused enamel, nod
to iconic models like the V12 Vantage S. Side sills with up-turned air splitters optimize airflow, blending form and function in true Aston Martin fashion. Inside, the ultra-luxury cockpit features Alcantara and leather, with herringbone seat designs and red seatbelts reinforcing the “S” identity. A state-of-the-art infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ensures seamless connectivity, while carbon ceramic brakes and advanced suspension deliver uncompromising control.
The DBX S upholds Aston Martin’s legacy of high-performance “S” models, from the 1953 DB3S racer to the Rapide S. With deliveries expected in late 2025, this SUV redefines what’s possible, offering supercar thrills with everyday practicality. As Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark notes, the DBX S reaffirms the brand’s commitment to “exciting, rewarding, and beautiful cars,” cementing its place as the pinnacle of ultra-luxury performance.
"The DBX S redefines what’s possible, offering supercar thrills with everyday practicality."
The exhibition traces the pool’s enduring allure as a symbol of American luxury and leisure, showcasing artists from the 1950s to today who explore themes of class, family, and contemporary social context.

June 7 - August 31, 2025 at Rollins Museum of Art
In December 1910, Virginia Woolf famously remarked that human character changed— an observation tied to the groundbreaking Post-Impressionist exhibitions organized by Roger Fry, which introduced modernist ideas to London. The Bloomsbury Group, including Fry, Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant, and others, emerged from this moment, redefining the boundaries between art, literature, and critical thought.
Masks and Mirrors explores the performative nature of femininity through photography, beginning with Gillian Wearing’s 1992 self-portrait Me:Me, which examines how gender is constructed and displayed both publicly and privately. In an era shaped by social media and shifting beauty standards, the exhibition considers how photography—often seen as a tool of documentation—also invites artifice, with subjects deliberately posed, styled, and costumed. Drawing from the museum’s permanent collection, the show traces the evolving relationship between gender and technology from early photography to the rise of the Internet. Curated by Stella Morris ’26, Fred W. Hicks Curatorial Fellow.
The Rollins Museum of Art highlights this influential collective in Portrait of a Movement: A New Approach to the Bloomsbury Group. Rather than focusing on personal biographies, the exhibition emphasizes the group's intellectual exchange and their engagement with modernist themes such as gender, domestic life, and European artistic movements.

It is Summer in Orlando and the heat IS on (in more ways than one), and though we may be just at the beginning of summer, we are at the peak of summer-time sunshine. Which means, it’s time to glow! But of course, in the best way possible with the right kind of protection under the sun!
Which brings us to protecting the skin. Ultraviolet (UV) protection is key when protecting your skin from various forms of UV radiation linked to aging, hyperpigmentation and skin cancer. Dermatologists urge individuals, regardless of the amount exposed to UV rays, to shield their skin. It is recommended when shopping for sunscreen, to look for one that contains at least an SPF of 30. With so many options of sunscreen in the market, it can be overwhelming to decide, especially since the formulas vary. The two primary types being mineral vs. chemical SPF.
The good news for you? We narrowed down some of our top picks so that you need not look further! Here’s our top summer choices of sunscreen, keeping in mind everything from ingredients to an overall feel!
Best for the face:

These carefully crafted drinks evoke sunshine, garden-fresh ingredients, and the vibrant energy of early summer. Whether you’re lounging outdoors or hosting a warmweather gathering, these selections celebrate the art of seasonal sipping.
Citrus Basil Breeze
This vibrant cocktail layers the brightness of fresh citrus with the aromatic hint of basil. Shake vodka, orange juice, lemon juice, and a splash of simple syrup. Pour over crushed ice in a tall glass and garnish with a basil leaf and a twist of orange peel. The result is a drink that
feels like a cool breeze on a hot day— uplifting, herbal, and effortlessly refined.
Strawberry Summer Fizz
A sweet and playful drink, this cocktail features muddled strawberries shaken with gin, lemon juice, and a dash of honey. Strain over ice in a clear glass and top with sparkling water for a fizzy finish. Garnish with a fresh strawberry and a thin slice of lemon for a refreshing and colorful summer sipper. Lightly tart and subtly floral, it’s the perfect toast to a carefree June afternoon.
Zesty Lime Cooler
Crisp, clean, and invigorating, this cocktail brings together lime juice, vodka, and elderflower liqueur for a refreshing
kick. Shake with ice and strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with a lime wheel and a salted rim for a punchy twist that perfectly suits a sunny June afternoon. Bright and effervescent, it’s a bold, modern take on the classic lime cocktail— ideal for sipping beneath a cloudless sky.
As June unfolds, these cocktails provide a flavorful way to embrace the early days of summer. Whether you’re gathering with friends or enjoying a quiet evening outdoors, these drinks capture the essence of brightness, balance, and seasonal celebration. Cheers to summer’s refreshing start!
As summer approaches and the days stretch longer, the Spring Ember Spritz is the perfect cocktail to savor the shift in seasons. This refreshing drink blends the citrusy tang of lime with the smooth floral notes of elderflower liqueur and the coolness of cucumber juice. Its layered green hue is both striking and sophisticated, while the final garnish of lime, olive, and a salted rim adds a savory twist to this vibrant sip.
Ingredients
2 oz fresh lime juice
1.5 oz elderflower liqueur
1 oz cucumber juice
3 oz sparkling water or tonic
Ice cubes
Lime wedge, green olive, and salt for garnish
Instructions
Start by chilling your glassware in the freezer for about 10 minutes to enhance the drink’s crispness. Once chilled, run a lime wedge along the rim and dip it in salt to coat. Fill the glass with ice cubes to keep the drink refreshingly cool.
Pour in the lime juice, followed by the elderflower liqueur and cucumber juice. Stir gently to let the flavors meld while preserving the drink’s delicate balance. Slowly top with sparkling water or tonic, allowing the bubbles to rise and blend with the crisp ingredients.
For the finishing touch, garnish with a fresh lime wedge and a green olive on a cocktail pick, resting gently on the salted rim. This combination adds a savory, citrusy contrast to the floral and cucumber notes.
Serve immediately and enjoy the Spring Ember Spritz—a cocktail that balances the clean brightness of summer with subtle complexity. Whether shared at a festive outdoor gathering or savored in a quiet moment, this drink brings a refreshing fusion of citrus, herbal, and savory elegance. Cheers to the season of renewal and radiance!

From ancient Roman emperors faking their deaths to TikTok detectives uncovering hidden meanings in reversed song lyrics, conspiracy theories have always captured the public’s imagination. In the age of social media, even the most outlandish celebrity rumors gain traction at lightning speed. Whether hilarious, creepy, or downright bizarre, here are 8 celebrity conspiracy theories that fans just can’t let go of—no matter how wild they sound.
This theory suggests that Avril Lavigne died in the early 2000s and was replaced by a look-alike. The “evidence” for these doppelgänger accusations? Fans cite changes in her handwriting, voice, appearance, music style, and fashion. Although Avril has denied the rumor, it doesn’t help that her accused “clone” is a real woman named Melissa who has been photographed with Lavigne prior to this alleged death.
It’s undeniable that Keanu Reeves is winning the battle against aging and many conspiracy theorists seem to have an easy explanation as to why. Based on his ageless face and uncanny resemblance to historical figures, Reeves is clearly a time traveler… or a vampire. He seems to have barely aged throughout his 30-plus year career and medieval paintings that resemble him suggest he is and/or was both Charlemagne, a Holy Roman emperor, and Paul Mounet, a 19th-century French actor.
STEVIE WONDER ISN’T ACTUALLY BLIND
This absolutely insane rumor has zero real evidence to support it, but that doesn’t stop skeptics from thinking that Stevie Wonder’s blindness is exaggerated. Those who believe the theory say the hitmaker can’t be blind because he pulls pranks, catches falling objects, and “watches” basketball games among other examples. Instead of sparking wild theories, these rumors should help to remind us of just how much blind people can sense without sight.
KATY PERRY IS ACTUALLY
JONBENÉT RAMSEY
The child beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey was tragically murdered at 6 years old in 1996 and her killer was never caught. However, some have suggested that Ramsey is not dead at all—she just grew up to become pop star Katy Perry. Yes, you heard that right! Despite the theory being easily debunked by the fact that Perry is six years older than JonBenét, it still resurfaces every few years.
PAUL MCCARTNEY DIED THE 60S
This classic Beatles theory suggests that the real Paul McCartney died in a brutal car crash in 1966 at the height of the band’s fame. To keep selling music, the band simply replaced McCartney with a lookalike. This theory would mean that Paul was dead long before the Beatles officially broke up in 1974. “Evidence” to support this theory supposedly include backward messages in songs and clues buried in strange album art such as Abbey Road. The talented musician has of course confirmed that he is indeed still alive, but some conspiracy theorists still aren’t buying it.
EMINEM DIED AND WAS REPLACED
I don’t know what it is about accusing celebrities of secret deaths, but even Eminem isn’t safe from these ridiculous claims. Some theorists believe Eminem died in 2006 and was replaced by a clone or body double. It all started with a widely-spread death hoax via his Wikipedia page. Those who believe the conspiracy often point to changes in his face, his voice, his rap style, and his personality as proof. Will we ever know if he’s still the real Slim Shady?
BEYONCÉ WAS NEVER PREGNANT WITH BLUE IVY
The infamous conspiracy theory that Beyoncé faked her pregnancy with Blue Ivy gained traction after a clip from a 2011 TV interview went viral. In the clip, Beyonce’s baby bump appears to “deflate” or “fold” when she sits down which has led some to speculate she was wearing a prosthetic belly to fake her pregnancy and had used a surrogate to “birth” Blue Ivy. Shifting due dates fueled further speculation as Blue Ivy was born on January 7th when Beyoncé had previously stated that the baby was due in February.
TUPAC FAKED HIS DEATH AND IS STILL ALIVE
It’s only fitting to close with the most famous celebrity conspiracy of all. Since his 1996 murder, fans around the globe have insisted that Tupac Shakur is still alive and well. Conspiracy theorists believe Tupac simply faked his death when he learned of the murder plot against him. They cite everything from posthumous album releases to blurry sightings all around the world including Cuba and most recently in New Mexico. The fact that he had a close association with Machiavelli (who faked his own death) also doesn’t help the case to dispel this enduring myth.

The first Monday in May once again brought together the biggest names in fashion, film, music, and art for the highly anticipated 2025 Met Gala. This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” paid homage to the rich history of Black dandyism and the influence of tailored menswear on fashion. With a dress code titled “Tailored for You,” attendees embraced the art of precision tailoring, showcasing structured silhouettes, luxurious fabrics, and bold personal interpretations of classic menswear.
Because of this precision tailoring, suits took center stage, as the dominate trend, with both men and women opting for sharp tuxedos, experimental tailoring, and printed pantsuits. The suits were often paired with exaggerated shoulder pads, cropped blazers and sheer suits sets. Celebrities rocked headto-toe single-color looks that made bold statements.
These monochromatic ensembles featured beautifully layered textures, tone-on-tone detailing and smart styling. Accessories stole the show, taking a front seat at the Met Gala. Oversized hats, bejeweled chokers, structured gloves, and clutches shaped like animals made a statement. Eye makeup that doubled as jewelry was also a notable trend.
The red carpet was a masterclass in craftsmanship, with celebrities and designers pushing the boundaries of tailored fashion. Zendaya, a perennial Met Gala favorite, stunned in a custom Louis Vuitton suit, complete with a dramatic hat and Bulgari jewels. Rihanna, known for her daring fashion choices, opted for a Marc Jacobs bustier suit, accessorized with a statement hat designed by Milliner Stephen Jones. Colman Domingo, one of the evening’s co-chairs, arrived in a striking Valentino ensemble featuring a blue cape with intricate embroidery.
1. Menswear-Inspired Elegance
With tailoring at the heart of the theme, many attendees embraced structured suits, waistcoats, and sharp lapels. A$AP Rocky embodied effortless cool in a long coat jacket from his own AWGE line, paired with a gem-studded umbrella. Emma Chamberlain redefined pinstripes with a deconstructed Courrèges gown inspired by a classic men’s suit.
2. Statement Hats & Accessories
Headwear played a significant role in the evening’s fashion narrative. Diana Ross captivated audiences with a fur-trimmed hat and a lavish train embroidered with her family tree. Kim Kardashian turned heads in a crocodile-embossed Chrome Hearts dress, accessorized with layered chains and a tilted hat.
3. Cultural Homage & Personal Expression
Indian celebrities brought a regal touch to the red carpet, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern tailoring. Shah Rukh Khan made a grand debut in a custom Sabyasachi ensemble, featuring Mughal-inspired tailoring and intricate embellishments. Diljit Dosanjh paid tribute to Maharaja Bhupinder Singh with a Prabal Gurung outfit adorned with Punjab’s map.
4. Luxurious Fabrics & Embellishments
Velvet, silk, and intricate embroidery dominated the red carpet. Teyana Taylor showcased a Marc Jacobs pinstripe suit with a velvet vest and sweeping cape. Isha Ambani stunned in a floral fantasy jumpsuit by Anamika Khanna, featuring handwoven Benarasi designs.
The 2025 Met Gala was a testament to the power of fashion as a form of storytelling. From meticulously tailored suits to avant-garde interpretations of menswear, the evening celebrated individuality, heritage, and the artistry of design. As the exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” runs through October at The Met, the influence of this year’s theme will undoubtedly continue to shape fashion conversations in the months to come.

Derek Hough is more than just a world-class dancer—he’s a storyteller, a fighter, and now, a cherished part of the Runway to Hope magic. On May 17th, the six-time Dancing with the Stars champion and four-time Emmy Award winner will co-host our 13th Annual Runway to Hope Spring Soirée at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, standing beside our beloved returning host, Johnny Magic. Together, they promise a night of purpose, power, and unforgettable moments.
“BEHIND EVERY PERFORMANCE, THERE’S A STORY. AND BEHIND EVERY SPOTLIGHT, THERE’S LOVE.”— DEREK HOUGH
Best known for his dazzling footwork and inventive choreography, Derek has received 14 Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Choreography, winning four. His most recent win, in 2024 for Michael Bublé’s “Higher,” came during a deeply personal time. As his wife, Hayley Erbert, recovered from emergency brain surgery, Derek dedicated the award to her, honoring her incredible strength and resilience. It was a reminder that behind every performance, there’s a story. And behind every spotlight, there’s love. That’s exactly what makes Derek’s involvement with Runway to Hope so meaningful. At our Spring Soirée, we pair pediatric cancer warriors, our true stars of the night, with celebrity escorts to walk the runway and shine. But it’s not just about fashion or fame. It’s about lifting spirits, building confidence, and celebrating these incredible kids for exactly who they are: fighters, dreamers, and inspirations.
For those who don’t know, Runway to Hope is a Central Florida nonprofit devoted to supporting children and families impacted by pediatric cancer. Runway to Hope is committed to providing direct emergency assistance, funding vital Central Florida hospital programs, and standing in the gap where help is most needed. The Spring Soirée is their signature event with 2500 supporters in attendance. It’s part fashion and entertainment, part celebration, part awareness, and all heart. This year, with Derek Hough lending his voice, spirit, and love of dance to the evening, we’re reminded how powerful it is when people use their platforms for good. His energy is infectious, and his heart is open.
Whether you’re attending in person or supporting from afar, this night is about the Runway to Hope kids. It’s about
community. And with Derek leading the way, we know it’s going to be a night to remember.
Here’s my exclusive Orlando Style Interview with Derek Hough:
You’ve worn many hats as dancer, choreographer, Emmy-winner, now cohost for one of Orlando’s most impactful pediatric cancer events. What drew you to Runway to Hope and their mission?
You know, at the end of the day, the real secret to living is giving. Being able to lend my time and energy to a cause like Runway to Hope is a privilege and an honor. What drew me to their mission is how they genuinely do good for those who need it most, and I’m happy to be part of something that serves such a meaningful purpose.
You’ve inspired so many through movement and storytelling. What do you hope your presence brings to the children walking the runway this year?
For me, I just want to give these incredible kids a moment to truly shine, to feel all the love from the audience, and to be encouraged in their journey. I’ll be their cheerleader.
You and your wife, Hayley, have been through such a powerful journey this past year. How has that shaped the way you approach moments like this—celebrating courage and resilience in young fighters?
What my wife and I went through last year was life-changing, and it taught us so much about collective love and the power of community. When people come together, whether in a neighborhood, an event like this, or even a whole country, it’s
incredibly healing. We felt that firsthand and appreciate it so much. Being here is a privilege, and we honor these brave kids who are fighting.
You’ve danced on stages around the world and performed in front of millions. How does standing beside these children and being part of their story compared to all those spotlight moments?
I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have a long career, from competing around the world to television shows, and I’m proud of those accomplishments. But Being able to stand alongside these kids and serve in any way possible is truly fulfilling. Being with them is an honor.
You’ll be celebrating your 40th birthday while co-hosting Runway to Hope’s Spring Soirée. That’s such a meaningful way to mark a milestone. what does it mean to you to spend this moment surrounded by children and families who embody such strength?
I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my 40th birthday than being here with these incredible warriors. It’s humbling and emotional to be in a room filled with such strength and resilience.
My deepest wish is for these kids to have the chance to live full lives and celebrate their own milestones. That’s what this is all about.
We’re so excited that Derek Hough is giving Orlando Style Magazine this exclusive interview just days before the big night. Be sure to check back next month as we share our favorite photos, memories, and moments from this year’s Spring Soirée.

At the heart of Orlando’s thriving aesthetic community is Alina Benitez, a nationally certified dermatology nurse practitioner and founder of Skora Skin Aesthetics. With over a decade of experience in critical care and dermatology, Alina brings a rare combination of medical precision and artistic intuition to her work—offering clients more than treatments, but transformations rooted in science.
Alina’s journey began in the ICU, where she excelled in high-pressure environments before earning a Master’s degree from UCF. Her training and certification from the Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Certification Board—a distinction held by fewer than 1% of NPs nationwide—set the foundation for her clinical excellence.
Before founding Skora Skin, Alina refined her aesthetic expertise alongside a leading plastic surgeon, cultivating her signature approach: natural results that preserve each patient’s unique beauty.
At Skora Skin, every treatment is a reflection of Alina’s philosophy— to provide personalized care that extends beyond the skin. Whether through precision injectables, regenerative therapies like PRF, or customized skincare plans, clients feel seen, heard, and empowered.
“My goal has always been to combine the highest level of dermatological care with artistry,” Alina shares. “At Skora, we build confidence through connection—one face, one story at a time.”
Outside the treatment room, Alina is a wife and mother, drawing strength and inspiration from her family. Her warmth, integrity, and dedication make Skora Skin not just a clinic, but a sanctuary.

In the dynamic world of wealth management, Aly Benitez stands out for her expertise and dedication, earning her the title of Readers’ Choice in Wealth Management for Ultra-High-Net-Worth (UHNW) Families.
As a Private Banker at J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Orlando, Aly has carved a niche for herself by offering curated investment and planning advice, drawing from her rich legal background and personal experiences.
Aly is an Orlando native and her journey into wealth management is as unique as her approach. Before joining J.P. Morgan, she practiced business law for 11 years and founded Legal Solutions of Central Florida. Her legal acumen, combined with her entrepreneurial spirit, equips her with the tools to navigate the complex financial landscapes that UHNW families often face.
Her commitment to clients goes beyond mere financial advice: “I see myself as more than a financial advisor, I am an advocate for these families and help them navigate the complexity that comes with substantial wealth and the many resources within J.P. Morgan.”
Aly’s passion for finance and investing stems from her father who fled Havana, Cuba in 1960. He taught her three guiding principles: integrity, hard work and knowledge. Her mother instilled in her the values of kindness and empathy. Today, Aly continues to embody these principles, building her practice on trust, meaningful relationships, and treating every client like family.
Outside the office, Aly enjoys spending time and traveling with her wife Alina and young son, Xander. She also has a passion for fossil and artifact hunting, combining her love of history with the thrill of discovery.
There has to be a culture of compassion and a constant pursuit of excellence. If you don’t believe you are the best, how can you expect anyone else to believe they have the best.
NeJame Law has multiple specialized divisions, which include personal injury, criminal defense, immigration, employment, highly contested family law, and civil and commercial litigation.
We’ve sought out the best attorneys for each division, who not only excel in their legal skills, but are truly good people who deeply care for their clients and others.
This extends to our remarkable support staff as well. We often utilize a team approach
when needed, due to the overlapping issues that can occur.
The firm is large enough and has the resources to handle large complex cases but has stayed moderate in size as to maintain the personal touch and connectivity with our clients, that is so often lacking in larger firms.
What sets us apart is the compassion and the relentless pursuit of excellence on behalf of our clients.
You can’t teach compassion. Personally, I’ve never taken a day off sick in over 40 years and it’s impossible to outwork me, I still work a minimum of 70 to 80 hours a week.
And our team of lawyers shows similar dedication.
This is not a 9-to-5 job, to be the best requires a firm culture of unyielding tenacity, dedication and passion on behalf of our clients.
Sadly, we’ve seen far too much mediocrity and a lack of caring with many other lawyers and their firms.
For this we have zero tolerance, always pushing ourselves for the best possible outcome. 111 N. Orange Ave.,
