PUBLISHER’S NOTE

At Orlando Style, our publishing venture began with a simple yet determined pledge to follow our intuition to provide our city with the best in regional lifestyle magazines. Now that we are heading into our 19th year, and millions printed copies later, it can be said time and again that our intuition must be right! With every issue, our readers continue to prove that the motivation and dedication that guided us from the beginning are always worth following, a truth that continues to define the hard work and vision that go into each issue of Orlando Style. As an independent publishing house, it is not easy to overcome challenges like the recession, as well as a pandemic, which is hopefully almost over, but we stay strong, thanks to our loyal readers and advertisers. You have been there for us through it all, and we are dedicated to be there for you. This November Luxury issue is another wonderful example of our intuition being put to good use. In every page, you will find the uncompromising quality that has defined every copy of Orlando Style since day one, from our features about the newest trends in fashion and beauty to the inside scoop on all of the not-to-be-missed happenings in Central Florida. I would also like to thank the many unsung heroes, especially our amazingly dedicated staff and our talented contributors. Each year at this time, I become emotional as I stop and realize how grateful I am for all those who are connected with our Celebrating!

publication. Thank you for making Orlando Style the most successful and beloved magazine in the city. From our growing family to yours, we wish each of you a most heartwarming Thanksgiving.

FALL WILL NOT BE THE

same without plaid.

Fall simply will not be the same without plaid, tartan or flannel. You know fall is here when all the clothing stores have plaid on their displays. Its unique pattern gives the casual, cozy vibe, which is why it is so popular in fall and winter. And fashion designers have also started to make more elegant clothing pieces using plaid, steering away from the casual vibe it gives. Of course plaid comes in bright colors too, but you want to go with the plaid or tartan that has burgundy, dark green, black, blue or grey.

WEARABLE POPS OF COLOR Where and how to wear them!

You want to step out of your comfort zone, but not too much, and perhaps you don’t know which step to take. Sometimes smaller, simpler, is better for you instead of going all out and making a huge wardrobe shift and buying a neon orange blazer that you are only going to wear once. There are many ways to do this and I’m sure there is a way where it suits you best! Start off with a base color. Some examples are navy, black, grey or beige. Once you have your base color picked for your suit, then choose what and where you would like the pop of color to be. It can be anywhere from your tie, bow tie, handkerchief, socks or even your blouse under your blazer! These small adjustments make a big statement, believe it or not. And as far as what color to choose as your “accent” color, you can pick any. Find a color that looks good and stands out against the base color that you chose. Another thing that you can do is choose a pattern. Many ties, socks and handkerchiefs come in different types of patterns and prints that also give the same affect. Next time you have the opportunity to wear a nice blouse or jacket, wear a pop of color of your choice!

LACE, THE MOST LUX OF THEM ALL Where it came from and why we love it Lace is a very well known fabric. When you think lace, what most likely comes to mind is luxury. Lace is a very delicate fabric made of yarn or thread in an open weblike pattern, made by machine or by hand. Originally, linen, silk, gold, or silver threads were used. It was worn by some of the most well known people in history, which is why we connect lace with “fancy” and “luxurious”. Lace goes all the way back to the times of Queen Elizabeth I (6th century). Lace collars, lace caps, lace shawls, and it doesn’t stop there! Lace was

used (and still is) to not only be worn as clothing pieces, but used to decorate the home! Today lace can be found almost anywhere. Typically one would wear lace as an undergarment, or on special occasions. You can now find lace in everyday clothing. You would want to save it for a nice dinner, or a date, and obviously lace is almost always found in wedding dresses. Lace will forever be a fabric that will give elegance to your wardrobe and house.

All that fur! In the fall, you can’t go wrong with fur. And now there are so many companies that make faux fur pieces so that you don’t have to feel bad about wearing fur. It can be a fur scarf, or a fur jacket. (Boots with the fur?) Every year during the cold months you see a lot of trends, but fur is one that has stayed and will continue to stay.

SHINE BRIGHT

with your diamonds

Diamonds are very much so a girl’s best friend. There is nothing more luxurious than diamonds. It is one of the most beautiful stones. This fall, look for an elegant diamond necklace or bracelet to wear to any event that will immediately take up whatever you’re wearing by 10 levels. What you’ll want to make sure of is that you’re wearing a solid color or something simple, nothing with too much going on, to have your diamonds be the statement. Oh, and don’t forget pearls! Throw some pearls in the mix with your diamonds for the ultimate luxury look!

BEAUTY

Plant-Based Makeup Everything you need to know about making the switch to vegan cosmetics

50

| STYLETOME.COM

Now more than ever, people are making compassionate choices about the products they use every day. You’re probably more likely to read the ingredients on a box of cereal than a tube of mascara, and you’re not alone. While veganism is becoming a popular diet choice among health and environmentally conscious people, many don’t know about the vegan options available for the areas of their lives that aren’t food related, like clothes, cosmetics, and makeup products. People overlook the fact that the ingredients in makeup products are often filled with animal-derived components that can be detrimental to your skin and health.

many vegan cosmetics can be far more expensive than nonvegan cosmetics, you may want to consider spending a pretty penny in order to reap the benefits. Ingredients like honey and lecithin, a by-product found in the nervous tissue of living organisms, are often used in lipsticks and liquid powders and can cause allergic reactions in certain users. Vegan products are seen as superior because they have fewer ingredients, and the ingredients are more natural. These products are less likely to cause or aggravate acne, rashes, dry skin, or other skin conditions, and can even heal damaged skin with its wholesome qualities.

When a product is advertised as cruelty-free, that does not necessarily make it vegan. Crueltyfree products are simply not tested on animals, while true vegan cosmetics do not contain any ingredients extracted from animals, including insects. According to People Ethical Treatment of Animals, beeswax and honeycomb are some of the most commonly used additives in products like eye shadow, mascara, lipstick, and other face makeup. Not to be a “buzz-kill,” but the bees need their own wax in order to provide for offspring and preserve honey for the winter. Without healthy bees to pollinate crops, our future looks devastating. That’s just one of the many reasons to start buying vegan cosmetics.

Wondering how to take the leap and find vegan makeup products to shop for? PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies program is the answer to your vegan prayers. It is designed to share information about companies that sell crueltyfree and vegan products. With more than 4,200 companies in their database, you’ll need to look no further. A few of the companies listed as cruelty-free and vegan include Adorn Cosmetics, whose slogan is “luxury without the guilt,” and Babydoll Cosmetics, who specialize in premium quality false eyelashes. If you’re looking for a more affordable way to support veganism, brands like ELF and Milani offer some vegan options for a fraction of the cost of other companies.

When it comes to integrating values with beauty, vegan makeup is the perfect place to start. Among the good of supporting a worthy cause, it’s also better suited for sensitive skin. Although

Making the choice to purchase vegan makeup not only impacts your own health and wellness, but the future of the animals and the environment that we live in.

OUR TOWN

BY KHADEJAH KHAN

The Electric Daisy Carnival, commonly referred to as EDC, is returning to Orlando, and if you haven’t been yet, it’s an adventure to experience at least once in your life. Held at the Tinker Field Stadium from November 12-14, the three-day carnival has something for everyone, whether you are a veteran music lover, newbie, or just want to see what all the hype is about. Once you enter the fairgrounds, you’ll feel ignited by the carnival’s atmosphere. The jaw-dropping stages are something to marvel at, incorporating laser shows, pyrotechnics, and grandiose sets within the fairgrounds. You can also enjoy the full-size ferris wheel, or immerse yourself in interactive art installations that harmonize technology and nature, from LED lights, glow in the dark spaces, and three-dimensional superstructures. And if we’re lucky, perhaps we’ll see ziplining again from past EDCs.

Of course, the headliners and acts this year are full of magnetic artists ready to electrify excited music lovers. Favorites include Afrojack, Kaskade, AC Slater, and Zedd spinning some original tracks and remixes. If you’re new to EDC, don’t fret! EDC encourages a judgement-free zone and open-mindedness to new experiences. Veteran carnival-goers love to meet new people and will talk your ear off. They create a friendly environment, are respectful, and spread positivity to a contagious degree. You’ll quickly feel the love and camaraderie, make new friends, and create memories unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. More than a music festival, EDC is a community where people young and old embrace their authentic selves. Carnival-goers dress up in colorful, vibrant, and often humorous costumes (like Big Bird or a hot dog) to express their personalities. Some costumes

are subtle in the details and others take up space. Take the opportunity to create, pretend, and play with your individuality in a judgement-free zone; it’s a refreshing change from the humdrum of life. Even if dressing up isn’t your cup of tea, you can still enjoy the experience of witnessing creativity at its craziest. Whether it’s your ninth time at EDC Orlando or your first time, whether you decide to go all three days or just one, it is an unforgettable experience with something for everyone. Invite some friends, your 18+ kids or grandkids, or be adventurous on your own. Either way, in a friendly environment and magnetic music, arts, and culture carnival, you are sure to have a good time. EDC comes to Tinker Field, Orlando November 12-14.

DON’T MISS THE BEAT

“Velvet Doors” Debut Album from Florida Artist Nicolina

By Courtney Caggiano

54

| STYLETOME.COM

By Courtney Caggiano

DON’T MISS THE BEAT

At first glance, you may think Florida-born musician

Nicolina is Joan Jett reincarnated, but with a closer look at her debut full-length album, “Velvet Doors,” you realize that she is an artist of her own making, definitively original, equal parts innovative and intriguing—and any homage to the past found within her style simply serves as rich soil for the songstress of this generation to blossom and grow. Inspired by icons such as Jett, Elton John, and even Quentin Tarantino, Nicolina is charting the path to becoming an icon herself, as her strong sense of identity found within “Velvet Doors” reveals a singer unafraid to let her true self shine—a trait representative of artists destined to make an impact of legendary status. Released on September 17th, “Velvet Doors” introduces the world to a creative soul immersed in pop-rock of the seventies and eighties, with the innate ability to transcend both genre and era. With rock anthems that could easily be at home in sold-out stadiums decades in the past like “What a Feeling,” Nicolina brilliantly modernizes and mythologizes her influences as she concocts a genre all her own, while contemporary hits like “Abyss” could easily climb the Top 40 charts. Simultaneously gritty and glam, “Velvet Doors” brings to life the characteristics of classic rock and blues that the music industry has seemed to have forgotten, from the raw authenticity of seventies songwriters to the electric eccentricities of arena-rock bands of the eighties.

magically make emotion tangible through sultry and smooth vocals and swooning guitar solos. The album touches on the personal and the profound, as Nicolina’s perceptive lyrics begin conversations about the wild and wonderful journey of life. While Nicolina exudes confidence and cool, the artist shows a vulnerable side on singles like “Dollhouse” and “Crave,” which has surpassed over 500,000 streams on Spotify, demonstrating her capability of understanding and echoing the sentiments of listeners from all walks of life. A champion of individuality and creativity, Nicolina has a powerful gift of showing that in her listeners’ uniqueness, they all can relate to one another through the truth of emotion, the universality of storytelling, and the connectivity of music. With “Velvet Doors,” Nicolina succeeds in her personal goal of creating music that embodies love and light, making a positive difference in the lives of her audience, each searching for their authentic purpose and place in this world.

After appearing on FOX’s singing competition The Four, Nicolina released her debut EP, “Caution.” Now, along with spotlight artist features on local and satellite radio, as well as statewide radio tours, Nicolina has found global praise on national television and international magazines, setting a tone of high anticipation for “Velvet Doors.” The 17-song record found life in Nicolina’s LA apartment, with most of the songs originally written as ballads on the piano. Over the two-year period of creating the album with producer Alec Zeilon, Nicolina transformed the ballads into the crossover works of art that they are today.

Proving herself a master of texture and sound, Nicolina especially shines on the album’s title track, as “Velvet Doors” stand out as the artist’s prime example of her capacity to

In the new Porsche 911 GT3, the brand’s most powerful genes

combine to create something even stronger. Motorsport legends Walter Röhrl and Jörg Bergmeister provide expert analysis of the state-of-the-art racer for the road. The highlight reel in Walter Röhrl’s mind plays an over 20-year-old thriller. “We never would have thought that a series production car could lay down a sub-eight-minute lap on the Nordschleife,” the motorsport legend recalls. In 1999, the first Porsche 911 GT3 pulled it off. Not least because it was driven around the Nürburgring by the two-time rally world champion himself. After 20.6 kilometres, the clock stopped at 7:56.33 minutes. It was a sensation! For Jörg Bergmeister, a 23-year-old up-and-coming Porsche factory driver at the time, there were no doubts: the GT3 was his dream car. Now Porsche has presented the seventh generation of the highperformance sports car and, together with Lars Kern, Bergmeister catapulted around the infamous Green Hell during the final development drives. The absolute best time from four almost equally fast laps on what is now a 20.8-kilometre test circuit was set by development driver Kern: an astonishing 6:59.927 minutes (911 GT3 (WLTP): Fuel consumption combined 13.0 – 12.9 l/100 km, CO2 emissions combined 294 – 293 g/km, 911 GT3 (NEFZ): Fuel consumption combined 13.3 – 12.4 l/100 km, CO2 emissions combined 304 – 283 g/km). Roughly a minute faster than the first one. “A world of difference,” says Röhrl. The latest GT3 incorporates more racing technology than any of its predecessors. The layout of the double wishbone front axle, the refined aerodynamics with the swan-neck rear wing, and the striking diffuser are just a few of many examples. Bergmeister, now 45, knows the components well from the Porsche 911 RSR – the GT factory racing car that delivered Le Mans victories and championship titles for Porsche. The most powerful series 911 with a naturally aspirated engine offers an astonishing level of everyday comfort for what is a razor-sharp driving machine. What else is there to say? The final word goes to the grand master of driving: “I am often asked which is my favourite 911,” says Röhrl. “It’s always the latest one – and the next one.”

CAN YOU OUT-EXERCISE A BAD DIET? 58

| STYLETOME.COM

HEALTH

By Khadejah Khan We all know that one person who says, “I eat what I want and then just work it off at the gym,” and then proceeds to stuff their face with pizza, tacos, and cheeseburgers. But is there any truth to out-exercising a crappy diet? In short: NO. Working out like a monster is not going to counteract a bad diet, it’ll only make it harder for you to achieve your fitness goals. Different foods have good and bad side effects toward various parts of the body. Healthy foods contribute essential nutrients which impact our skin, sleeping patterns, and joints, for example. Dense foods that are rich in calories but low in healthy nutrients can make us feel groggy and bloated (think Popeye versus Garfield). So if you’re regularly eating junk foods like fries and doughnuts, heading to the gym for 45-60 minutes is not going to work off your Wendy’s 4 for $4 either. Instead, it gets stored as fat and disrupts your #gainz. Perhaps the only people who can justify a bad diet are pro athletes. They require an enormous amount of caloric fuel because they burn off the intake with frequent exercise and high intensity workouts, aka energy output. For the average person, it’s a lot harder to work off your caloric intake, no matter how much we believe we live at the gym and breath exercise. Unless you’re training to be the new Michael Phelps or a linebacker at the next Superbowl, there’s no rationale for unlimited breadsticks at Olive Garden. Having a bad diet and keeping your physique may have worked when you were in high school, but that’s not the case once you pass 25. Your metabolic rate, or how quickly you burn calories or fat, is at its highest in your teens and early 20s, even if you didn’t exercise regularly, meaning, eating fast food during your lunch block was fine and dandy whether or not you had track practice later. However, everyone’s metabolic rate is different and determined by genetics, and as we get older our metabolism slows. Such is life, unfortunately. So what about that person we all know who believes they can have their cake and eat it, too? One: they might be lucky and have a high metabolic rate (try not to let that jealousy get to you). Two (and most likely): they’re not going to see the results they want. Having bottomless fries at Red Robin then working it off didn’t cancel out the fries; it just made it more difficult to lose. Therefore a regular diet high in bad fats and sugars will constantly get in the way of your gym goals. It’s unreasonable to quit an entire diet cold-turkey. But in small ways, the key is to make smart food choices that when stored are healthy for us and give us good nutrients, but will also be “easier” to work off.

Celebrities Who Are

GREAT COOKS Just cause they can afford a private chef, doesn’t mean they need one! By Riesa Pascal With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it’s only natural to start thinking about food and maybe some of your households are already arguing about who’s cooking the turkey this year! While it’s apparent that private chefs are a must-have for many celebrities, not every star needs someone else to cook for them. Here are 8 celebrities who not only enjoy cooking, but are also surprisingly good at it. Chrissy Teigen first showcased her love for food by posting recipes she loved to cook—or created herself—on her blog and other social media platforms. In 2015, she released her first cookbook, titled Cravings, which was inspired by recipes from her life with her famous hubby John Legend. Today, you can still regularly see Chrissy cooking up a storm in the kitchen on her Instagram and Twitter, oftentimes featuring beloved family members as her sous chefs. When you have the kind of fame Kris Jenner has, you certainly don’t have to cook if you don’t want to. Fortunately for the Kardashian clan, Kris Jenner actually enjoys taking time out of her busy schedule to cook up comfort food for her family. In fact, she enjoys cooking so much that she even shared some of her favorite foods in a cookbook called In the Kitchen With Kris: A Kollection of Kardashian-Jenner Family Favorites. Inside the cookbook, you’ll find nearly 70 favorite recipes that have become the centerpiece of Kardashian-Jenner family traditions. Apparently a love of cooking runs in the family because much like her mother, Kylie Jenner is also not a stranger to the kitchen. She has often appeared on social media taking her fans along with her as she whipped up her favorite recipes. In 2016, the beauty-mogul even released her own cooking series titled "Cooking With Kylie" for her app and website subscribers. On the show, the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan takes on everything from candied yams and Teriyaki Sliders to healthy stir fries and more. Although she keeps it modest when it comes to her cooking skills, Blake Lively absolutely loves to bake. The A-list actress and fashion icon even celebrated her good friend Beyoncé turning 33 in 2014 by creating an amazing beehive shaped birthday cake that looked more nothing short of a work of art. Lively spoke about the desert in a social media video showcasing the tasty treat writing, “In honor of the Queen of all Bs… I had to make this Meyer Lemon Honey cake.”

We’ve all seen Snoop Dogg work his culinary magic on VH1's Emmynominated Martha and Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party. What you may not know, however, is that Snoop's love for the kitchen actually stems from his self-described "unadventurous" palate. When he is cooking for himself, Snoops says he can always have his favorite dishes, no matter what. Luckily for us, Snoop decided to share these favorite recipes with the world in his debut cookbook, From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg's Kitchen. The recipe book delivers 50 recipes and OG soul food straight from Snoop's own collection such as Baked Mac & Cheese, Fried Bologna Sandwiches with Chips, Soft Flour Tacos and Easy Orange Chicken. Is there anything David Beckham can’t do? Well if you follow him on Instagram, you know that cooking is not one of those missing talents! The retired soccer star loves to bake, is close friends with Gordon Ramsay, and has even received tips for the kitchen from the celebrity chef such as how to make a perfect Beef Wellington. He regularly takes to his social media to share his cooking skills and has recently held discussions with the BBC and Netflix about a cooking show which would be developed by his company Studio 99. When she’s not headlining sold-out concerts all over the world, Taylor Swift can often be found in the kitchen! Many of her friends have attested to her cooking abilities and she has even said herself that her cooking inspiration is Chef Ina Garten. The “Shake It Off ” singer has been a fan of the famed chef since she was a teenager and loves making Ina Garten’s flag cake recipe for her Fourth of July parties. Swift is also a self-proclaimed food addict and has been known to make her tasty, eye-catching desserts for her own parties. This one was a genuine surprise for me to learn! Before he was serenading the masses with his sultry voice, did you know that Michael Bublé was a cook on a boat? According to the Grammy-award winning artist, he often lived with his great-grandmother as a child and fondly remembers watching her effortlessly cook delicious meals. His father was a fisherman who was away a lot and from ages 17-20, Bublé was hired as a cook on the same boat. He spoke of that time of his life saying he would make meals on the stove in a little galley such as lasagnes, roasts and spaghetti bolognese.

|Giving thanks to those that feed us| B Y D A W N H A R R I S S H E R L I N G , M . D . , F. A . C . P.

Lately, I’ve been spending a great deal of time thinking about food. Essentially, this is because that’s what I do every day, but also because Thanksgiving is approaching. Most of what we know about Thanksgiving is apocryphal. The only thing we can count on as being true is that there was eating. And probably giving thanks. Which actually makes it a pretty good holiday. While we have plenty to be thankful for, now seems like a good time to be especially grateful for food. First off, if you didn’t make it yourself, someone else sure as heck did. Thanks to the restaurant workers spending hours behind a hot stove and the servers spending just as many hours running around. And now we have the delivery folks to extend thanks to. These men and women have become the newest addition to front line,

essential workers. And thanks to the home cooks (usually the moms, but also some dads) who toil without much in the way of gratitude for most of the year. They might be working for free, but their time is worth something—a lot actually. Thinking about what to make in the coming week and making sure the ingredients are on hand, requires a great deal of mental energy and also time—let’s estimate this at about ten minutes per dinner per day. If we consider the fact that the clean-up involved in a homecooked meal is often fifteen minutes or more, the dinner that our handy recipe said would take only 20-25 minutes to make, is now pushing up against an hour. Including time spent planning, time spent cooking, and then the clean-up, what’s the real cost of all this? According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the

average hourly wage of a worker in the U.S. was around $27 in 2019. That means, on average, we value fifteen minutes of an American worker’s time at around $7. If ingredients to prepare a meal at home cost a family $15, but the time required to plan, shop for, make, and clean up the meal takes an hour, the meal really just cost about $42, but was free for you (if you weren’t the one who just fed everyone). The second group people to thank are the people who grow, harvest, and transport our food. About a year ago, my husband and I decided to plant a garden. Since we are Floridians, we also got a couple of citrus trees, a banana tree, and a mango tree. To date, we have successfully harvested about 2.5 lemons (one had a bad spot that needed to be cut out so we lost a half), a few bunches of green beans, and about five servings of broccoli. The herbs did okay until it got hot.

STYLE MD

Now we just have rosemary and okra. And we still can’t get the kids to eat the okra. It turns out that growing stuff is hard. Other things want to eat what you are growing, the plants get sick, and weeds can seem unstoppable. If it were up to me to grow food for my family, I don’t think we’d make it. And yet, I can go to the supermarket and pretty much get whatever produce or meat I want. It took a veritable army of people to get that food there, most of whom work for very little pay. They have now also become essential workers who deserve abundant thanks and probably a raise. The other people we have to thank are the ones that fed us from the time we were too small to even ask properly. And whether by bottle or breast, feeding babies is hard work. Newborns want to be fed every two hours, which can pretty much feel like constantly. Bottles need to be cleaned and formula is expensive. And contrary to popular opinion, breast feeding is only free if the one who is doing the feeding’s time is worth nothing. Many mothers spend hours directly feeding or expressing milk to be fed to their babies. At $27 an hour? Let’s just say that this coming Mother’s Day, you owe mom. Big time. So, while your Thanksgiving gathering may be a bit smaller this year or include a few Zoom or FaceTime guests, it doesn’t have to be less meaningful. Give thanks, and if you can, maybe slip the delivery guy an extra twenty.

NOVEMBER DECOR: CANDLES

It’s time to light up your season One of the most exciting things about fall is deciding which fragrances will take center stage inside of your home. Scents like apple, cinnamon, and pumpkin are November classics - perfect for sparking warm, cozy aromas in the bedroom or kitchen. While burning scented candles year-round is enjoyable, there’s something about picking out autumn aromas. Fall scents are atmosphere-shifters and ooze complete relaxation. It’s time to fill your home with pleasant fragrances that will make your space more inviting this season. Here are our top three favorites from Yankee Candle.

1. Spiced Pumpkin This warm, comforting fragrance makes everyone hungry for mom’s recipe of pumpkin pie! With vanilla, cinnamon, and sweet sugar, this scent mixes sweet and spice just to have everything nice. 2. Sparkling Cinnamon Your room will be filled with a stellar cinnamon aroma within minutes of lighting the candle! 3. BRIGHT AND ALL WHITE

Achieve a trendy minimalist look

An interior design trend that was predicted would go away this year is still sticking around. This season, it continues to be all about white. White countertops, white cabinets, white walls. There’s no denying that this minimalist trend ensures a light, airy feel inside of the home. Add personality to your space by throwing in some distinct wood pieces, plants, or cozy textures. Gravitate toward bright and white (spaces) and give your home a rich, sophisticated, and clean look. By Riesa Pascal

Danny Hilwa, P.A. ALHS Accredited Luxury Home Specialist | English - Spansih - Arabic Danny Hilwa has a unique passion for Orlando, having lived in the area for 44 years since he was 3 years old. Attending Park Maitland, Trinity Prep and Rollins College he has watched Central Florida develop from a small town into the magnificent city that it is today. He has been licensed for 20 years specializing solely in high-end luxury properties, gaining intense experience with a proven track record of results with top sales and numerous awards throughout his career. He is an Accredited Luxury Home Specialist (ALHS) and is fluent in English, Spanish and Arabic. Danny believes that the key to this industry is loyalty and treating each client like family rather than as a transaction, many agents preach this but rarely follow through and try to work with as many clients at once. As a result he is proud and humbled to have an amazing reputation built by repeat clients and referrals using very little self-advertising. He is committed to his family and feels his upbringing is the foundation of his ability. In fact he is fortunate to have both his parents and his brother as neighbors in his community, which he feels is his biggest blessing. Danny and His wife Diana love to travel often experiencing cultures and learning traditions abroad. Over the years he has developed amazing skills in the art of negotiation because all the postcards and ads mean nothing if your agent does not understand that the core of real estate is intense and calculated negotiation. Danny is proud to have closed over $115 million

in personal sales and these earned numbers are his own. The general public does not realize that most agents often combine the sales figures of multiple agents in their office, such as a team and lump their sales figure in advertisements to show an impressive amount to lure your business. Many do the same when representing “combined years of experience.” Always remember that even the best surgeon can only do so many procedures without sacrificing the quality and attention to each patient. Also remember that you will truly only be hiring ONE agent to represent you, even in the largest office or the best team it will be one individual you will be calling for help. If it seems that you agent is boasting sales that seem unrealistic that is exactly what they are doing. Remember when you get a 'Just Sold' card in the mail most of the time the agent who mailed it to you DID NOT actually sell that home. Danny urges you to find the agent, not the office, who will give you the attention you need and deserve to make the process work in your best interest. As a resident of Vizcaya, Danny specializes solely in Dr. Phillips, Windermere and Lake Nona, with 100 percent of his sales in these areas he knows and loves. He is truly honored to be able to be a part of Orlando's growth and would love the opportunity to represent you and your family. Considering his humility and dedication to the luxury market and Danny's love for Orlando, his motto remains the same from the day he started two decades ago: "The one thing money will never buy you is class!"

Elizabeth Petters Realtor Growing up in the City of Chicago, Elizabeth learned about real estate from an early age. Her grandfather owned several apartment buildings for investments to rent out the units. He took great care of the apartments to make sure they were always maintained in excellent condition because he wanted to make sure his financial investment would appreciate and he always wanted to keep his tenants happy. He instilled in Elizabeth the pride of ownership and being successful in real estate. Elizabeth got her real estate license in Chicago in 2003 and, as a 3rd generation Chicago born, was excited to sell in her hometown. The first house she sold was to a pediatrician at Cook County Hospital. As her client, Elizabeth helped her purchase and sell several homes within the year. However, Elizabeth’s husband was transferred to Orlando in 2005 and they have been in Central Florida ever since. Elizabeth got her Florida real estate license in 2007 and started with Coldwell Banker Realty. Her father-in-law was also with Coldwell Banker in the Silicon Valley/Bay Area and had been for 36 years. He was also a great mentor and knew the key to success in real estate was the relationships with people. Elizabeth has had the privilege of helping clients purchase their first home or a vacation home or an investment home or to downsize. Each client is unique and special. Each transaction is different and can have its own set of challenges. Elizabeth works with the #1 Real Estate company in the state of Florida, the best title company, the best lenders and the best team because the goal is to have a successful closing. Elizabeth has lifelong clients that return for their
