Kaplan Fundamentals Integrated Test and Remediation Assignment
NURS 3292: Nursing Interventions II
Kaplan Integrated Tests are nationally normed, secure exams that are used to assess student learning. The purpose of the tests is to evaluate knowledge of key concepts and major topics in the baccalaureate curriculum and provide feedback for students regarding topics for further review. Each exam has a standardized score (percentile) that has been determined through national norms.
Preparation for the exam:
a. Log into Kaplan https://nursing.kaplan.com/s_login.aspx
b. Watch the orientation podcast: In the green “Integrated Testing” box, click on “Integrated Testing Orientation” to watch the 8 minute podcast which explains the integrated testing process, the analysis of results, and the remediation information.
c. Review the “Fundamentals of Nursing” chapter in the Kaplan textbook, “The Basics.”
d. Complete focused review “Fundamentals” tests to practice sample questions prior to the exam. You will have time in lab to complete one of the tests. Complete the other one outside of class. Login at https://nursing.kaplan.com/s_login.aspx In the orange “Focused Review Tests” box, click on “Take available tests” then click “Take the test” for the Kaplan Fundamentals of Nursing tests.
e. Review the tutorial material offered for each question after you have taken the Fundamentals Focused Review tests. You may also use your textbooks to review these topics.
Points for the Kaplan Fundamentals Exam: The Fundamentals Exam is a standardized 75-item multiple choice test administered online in a proctored setting with a 90 minute time limit. All students in NURS 3292 will take the Kaplan Fundamentals Integrated Test scheduled during lab. If you are absent from lab on the scheduled test date, contact your course coordinator to schedule the make-up exam. Students receive points based on the percentile score listed in the table below:
