CREATIVITY

A Lean and continuous improvement program hits directly at this problem. At its core, continuous improvement is designed to empow er individuals to solve problems that bugs them and gradually improve the efficiency of their w ork processes. Lean lets people know that their ideas are important.

A teamw ork environment promotes an atmosphere that fosters friendship and loyalty. These close-knit relationships motivate individuals in parallel and align them to w ork harder, cooperate and be supportive of one another.

Problem-solving gives us a mechanism for identifying these things, figuring out w hy they are broken and determining a course of action to fix them.

CIHAMPELAS FASHION SCHOOL

CIHAMPELAS

The site for the academy is located in Jl. Cihampelas, STBA. Cihampelas is the centre of fashion design post modern design for architecture and fashion.

WHY AVANT GARDE?

The point of Avant Garde is to make a new and unusual or experimental ideas, especially in the arts, or the people introducing them. W hat w e aim in this design is to how can w e blend a new ideas of fashion and architecture as w hole into the w ell know n fashion of Cihampelas. W hat w e seak is not to replace but to evolve the fashion.

W e w ere tasked to design an academy for Bandung anykind of academy. Cullinary, design, management, etc anykind of school are permissible. Since the plaace takes in Cihampelas w e w ere thinking is it possible to design a fashion school here that not just teaching students in the campus but also capable of evolving the fashion trend in Cihampelas itself.

BACKGROUND

The idea of the design is to how to enable the users of a walkable space just like how Cihampelas street should be or even Cihampelas W alk. W e decided that the first thing to do is to create 2 function of the building as a w hole. One for the gallery and catwalk, the other as for education that has been stacked per floor. The curvature shape of the building is a shape of dynamism and feminism.

DESIGN PROCESS

CONCEPT

To get to the idea that this building should be very w alkable for the users, w e decided to put continuous ramp in the shape of spiral that connects from ground to the top floor. To improve lighting in the center w e added a skylight as a w ay for natural light as the main light source.

SPACE

SPIRAL RAMP

SUN SHADING

To provide a better natural lighting and a more feminism look that represent fashion itself, w e embedded curved sun shade that simulate a kind of metaball look. The idea of the meatball comes from a particular inspiration of a sense of movement just like how a w ater or a wave moves. The color w hite has meaning of a blank paper, indirectly it says “everything is possible here.

FACADE

PHILLIPS ARENA BATUNUNGGAL FUTSAL ARENA

FUTSAL ARENA

PHILLIPS ARENA

Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided soccer game that is played across the w orld and is officially recognized by both FIFA and UEFA. The project for the futsal arena w as one of the most challenging yet innovative one. W e started w ith the research of how citizen in Bandung especially futsal teams redefine an arena as a vessel. Most of them said that they w anted a stadium or an arena that is flexible in identity but still can accommodate any team, any match, any event held in the building. So w e decided that the concept of the arena w as to make an arena that has a “multi -identity that can represent any team at anytime.

THE COURT

We started with the most important thing of futsal w hich is the players. W e decided to use laminated w ood flooring as the base of the court because most of the courts in Bandung tends to be slippery and aren’t comfortable enough w hen a player fall. Use it as a material that can provide better grip for the players but also capable of absorbing impact as maximum as possible for the player.

PHILLIPS ARENA

Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and the smallest one in the Solar System—it’s onlyTHE a bit larger HOW than our Moon. The planet’s name FAÇADE W ORKS has nothing to do w ith the liquid metal, since it w as named after the Roman messenger god, Mercury

The façade is the most crucial part of the building as a w hole concept. W e choose color w hite as a neutral color for the arena. A perforated metal panels are used as the main material so it can reflect better lighting at night. An LED lights w ere embedded into each of the panel to achieve the desired color of light.

PHILLIPS ARENA MULTI-IDENTITY

The facade itself is an adaptable lighting system capable of reaching over 10.000 types of colors. Most of the time the facade represent itself as a w hite color, but in certain chase if a match is held especially by teams w ith a certain color as their identity can change the façade of the arena.

Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and the smallest one in the Solar System—it’s only a bit larger than our Moon. The planet’s name has nothing to do w ith the liquid metal, since it w as named after the Roman messenger god, Mercury

GASIBU PAVILION THE FIRST OF ITS KIND

GASIBU

In the 1950s, the area was know n as the Diponegoro field. In 1955, the name Gasibu came from a soccer association w here members w ere from the North Bandung community. Gasibu stands for North Bandung Indonesian Football Association.] The ow nership of the land has been controversial betw een the city of Bandung and private ow ners.

Gasibu is a public area in Bandung, W est Java, Indonesia. It w as first built by the Dutch colonial government as an open space in front of Gedung Sate; the area w as first know n as W ilhelmina Plein in 1 9 2 0 . The area w as named after the Queen of the Netherlands, W ilhelmina of the Netherlands.

BACKGROUND

PAVILION

THE PILLARS

The project w as to make a temporary pavilion that suitable is for either w alking pedestrian or even people doing some jogging in Gasibu. The concept of the pavilion is to put gapping pillars that represent the openness of the field but still respecting the context of building in the area as in the color of w hite for the base.

WJACC

WEST JAVA ART AND CULTURAL CENTER

Special Thanks to UNPAR and UTHM Malaysia for the student exchange in Dec’18

ART & CULTURE

THE PEACOCK

A cultural center is a place of identity, of soul, of live of a city or even a country. It represent w hat language they speak, w hat food they eat, w hat kind of art they express, w hat are their manners, how do they socialize, w hat architecture they have. So w e take this one project very seriously because this project really represent w hatW est Java means . W e start by taking the concept of “the gate” or as in Sundanese “Gerbang Binangkit”. W e think that this cultural center is basically a gate to the w orld that W est Java is more than just a province or a name. W e take an abstraction the most famous dance of w hich is the “Tari Merak” or Peacock Dance. This dance usually performed by w oman and is use to w elcoming a guest especially from international w orld.

THEATRE

We started with the most important thing of the culture center w hich is the theatre. W e decided to use w ood as the main material of the theatre just to reflecting local architecture of w est java. An accoustic ceiling and also accoustic w all are the main focus of the theatre. W e believe the most important things that auditions w ant in theatre are the acoustics, the sight, and the performance. In this case w e implify the acoustics up to 11.

PHILLIPS ARENA

Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and the smallest one in the Solar System—it’s only a bit larger than our Moon. The planet’s name THE GATE has nothing to do w ith the liquid metal, since it w as named after the Roman messenger god, Mercury

The gate is the most important element of the w hole architecture itself. The meaning of this is w hat people w ould call “Taaddaaaa w elcome to”. But the main point is the gate itself is a boundary betw een the outside culture and the w est java culture. How do w e represent this gate is simply by adding a museum and a souvenir shop in one simple mass. The mass itself is combination of a modern architecture and a traditional Sundanese roof.

PHILLIPS ARENA LANDSCAPE

The landscape is a full tropical paradise w ith the usage of local materials and local atmosphere. The streaming w ater represent the color of a peacock body and how the w ater move really makes the interpretation of a peacocks furs. Another facility that is a bonus plus for the landscape is an open teater. Made out of full bamboo canopy, the theater reflects w hat a peacock tail should like.
