OUR STORY

AllSfär is a brand with a clear mission dedicated to designing and manufacturing sustainable, design-led acoustic products for architects, interior designers, office fit-out companies and furniture dealers.

Our thoughtful acoustic range is designed to help people feel happier, calmer and more comfortable in commercial environments.

Our office, factory and warehouse in Watford allows us full creative control over the design and manufacture of our products.

Having everything under one roof means we can hold and access a large stock of raw materials, allowing us to adapt quickly to client requests and the changing landscape of the commercial interiors sector.

We are passionate about promoting British design and manufacturing. All our products are designed and manufactured in-house and we are proud to be Made in Britain certified.

In October

2023, AllSfär

acquired Creatif Acoustics, enabling us to deliver a wider range of innovative acoustic products and even more expert knowledge to help architects and interior designers create awardwinning interiors.

ENVIRONMENT

Putting sustainability at the forefront of everything we do is crucial and our aim has always been to minimise the negative impact our business has on the environment.

How do we do this?

Promote active recycling of generated waste

Use a very low energy manufacturing process

Ensure very low VOC emissions for all our products

Invest in Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and ISO accreditations for our products and business operation

Develop new products using more natural and sustainable materials such as mycelium and hemp

Longer Term Commitments

Endeavour to replace the use of non-sustainable natural resources

Develop and maintain activities to protect and enhance the environment and prevent pollution

Identify environmental risks and use all practical measures to reduce

Have an ongoing commitment to informing and educating legitimate interested parties about our activities

Have an ongoing commitment to develop all personnel

Wherever possible source materials and services locally to minimise transport impacts and support the local economy

Work with suppliers to minimise the impact of their operations on the environment

We use 100% renewable energy*

0% Formaldehyde binders in our products

Made using GRS-certified fibres containing 99% recycled content

Low VOCs in our products

280 – average number of recycled plastic bottles in each 2440mm x 1220mm felt panel

Over 40% of our energy is generated from our solar panels

Acoustics and wellbeing

Good acoustics are essential to creativity, productivity, and wellbeing. In offices, schools, hospitals and in leisure & hospitality settings, creating acoustic comfort where everyone feels comfortable and happy is crucial.

The workplace in particular continues to change at lightning speed, and architects and interior designers need to create flexible spaces that accommodate hybrid working, connected technology, and support wellbeing as well as providing excitement and choice around where and how we work.

The effect of poor acoustics in the workplace can have huge negative impacts on wellbeing, raising heart rate, increasing stress and reducing productivity. It’s not just offices where noise presents health issues – think about noisy restaurants, hotel lobbies, schools and hospitals.

1 in 5 children is neurodiverse (Pearson, May 2019)

80% of teachers are stressed by classroom noise

(Institute for Interdisciplinary School Research of the University of Bremen)

40% of hospital patients are bothered by noise at night

(King’s College London and the University of the Arts London UAL, 2018)

8 out of10 diners reported having left a restaurant, cafe or pub early because of the noise (The Guardian, 2019)

30-40% estimated population that is neurodiverse (adhdaware.org.uk)

25 mins is the time it takes to return to focus after distraction (University of California)

Recommended reverberation timeS in commercial settings

WHAT IS AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

REVERBERATION

Reverberation is the persistence of a sound after its source has stopped, caused by multiple reflections of the sound within a closed space.

Reverberation time refers to the time it takes for the reflected sound to dissipate once the source of the sound has stopped and is measured as RT60.

RT60 stands for Reverberation Time and the 60 refers to dB. RT60 is a measure of the time after the sound source ceases that it takes for the sound pressure level to reduce by 60 dB.

Knowing the RT60 of a room is crucial for architects and interior designers, especially in today’s workplace environments where over 50% of offices are large open-plan spaces and where four in five people consider noise in their offices to be distracting.

In order to reduce reverberation times within a space there are various acoustic solutions on offer. We specialise in designing and creating sustainable sound absorbing products such as ceiling rafts and baffles, wall coverings and furniture that all help to absorb noise, making the space a better place to work, promoting wellbeing and increasing productivity.

Öra is our range of acoustic wall surfaces designed with total flexibility in mind.

Combining design aesthetics with acoustic practicality, the range of innovative finishes including V cut, dual colour, tile, fabric-wrapped, print and 3D options offer a creative solution for reducing reverberation and increasing wellbeing and productivity.

Stratus

Modular acoustic ceiling system

Stratus is a unique new modular, continuous ceiling system, designed based on mounting from the conventional suspended false ceiling T-grid.

Stratus comes in a range of different depths and with four different tiles caps that can be used in one installation making it easier than ever to create beautiful statement ceilings whilst managing acoustics.

Designers can create ceilings with texture and visual interest by using the same standard pieces at different depths and can be installed either

wall to wall or in just one key ceiling section, for example above a board room table. The system can be easily retrofitted into an existing 15/16" T-grid and can be secured onto a standard ceiling grid without glue, or screws (apart from the edge trims), and can be easily cut to accommodate light fittings and/or existing vents.

Stratus is a truly versatile option as designers can mix and match colours and woodgrain finishes to reflect existing soft-furnishings and scheme colour palettes to create something very unique.

3D patterned ceiling tiles

Taking a creative approach to the often-boring, standard ceiling grid used in suspended and drop-ceilings, our designers have come up with a unique range of acoustic ceiling tiles that can be used either as a complete ceiling system or as a selection of tiles installed in strategic areas to create zones and provide increased sound absorption above meeting/collaboration tables. Flott tiles have the added flexibility of being able to be used to freshen up a ceiling where there is an existing grid that is not being replaced or for low ceilings where other acoustic solutions such as baffles and rafts are not a practical solution.

INSTALLATION & CARE INSTRUCTIONS

WARRANTY

This Limited Warranty of AllSfär applies to products manufactured or distributed by AllSfär. The term “product” means an AllSfär device or system, its features, elements or accessories or any combination of them. The product purchased shall be free from defects in material and workmanship under standard use.

OUR COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT

1

all surfaces are clean and free from dust.

2 Plan your installation:

a Particularly for Őra Mural, ensure you have the panels in the correct order.

b Identify the best place to start, whether that be off a wall or in the centre.

c Using a spirit level – ensure the starting wall is plum or draw a plumb line to ensure accurate installation.

d Identify any sockets or light switches which will need to be cut around.

3 Accurately cut your first panel if cutting is required and offer up to ensure accuracy.

4 Spray the wall and the back of the felt with contact adhesive holding it approximately 10cm away.

Wait 1-2 minutes for the adhesive to dry.

5 Carefully position the felt and press to the wall with the palms of your hand.

6 Repeat with the next panels.

NOTES

• Other adhesives can be used including AC50, hot melt glue and silicon or polymer-based adhesives; test a small area first.

• Thin pins can be used to temporarily hold panels back while the adhesive sets. This will not be required if using contact adhesive.

By cutting a V shape in the back of the felt panel they can be bent around external corners.

CLEANING OPTIONS

• For dust use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment.

• For light soiling use clean warm water and a sponge to wipe away dirt.

For medium soiling use an upholstery cleaner on the soiled area then wipe clean using warm water and a sponge.

For heavy soiling use an upholstery wet and dry vacuum cleaner with upholstery cleaning solution to spray and vacuum the affected area.

NB For all options it is important to test an inconspicuous area first.
