Crafted by the hands of Azita Saîn and Studio Königshausen, the interior of this Sluishuis apartment is a continuation of Bjarke Ingels and Barcode architects’ visionary design. With inspiration drawn from the building’s structural form and choice of materials, the interior boasts a natural color palette and stainless steel accents that effortlessly mirror the exterior.

Central to the design is the sculptural staircase, a reflection of the building’s unique shape. Built against a slanted wall, this staircase not only enhances the aesthetics but also serves as a multi-purpose element.

The staircase’s allure is heightened by a slanted window nestled at its core, an architectural feature that not only seamlessly connects the interior with the outdoors but also transforms into a captivating moving painting within the living room. The window presents a tranquil view that faithfully replicates the sensation of living amidst the gentle embrace of water.

From ceramics to art, every detail in this home has been thoughtfully selected. The design approach aimed for both timelessness and warmth. The hues on the walls cocoon the space like a comforting blanket, offering a distinct contrast to the brisk climate that occasionally sweeps through Amsterdam.

The wall colours also transform with the passage of time and weather conditions, transitioning from vibrant greens to soothing beiges. The oak floor complements this feeling of warmth, while water reflections create an interplay of light within the space through the windows. A curated selection of ceramics and art pieces seamlessly blend with the environment.
