Between Monier Road, Smeed Road and Dace Road, near the former Dalton Peanut Factory lies a building site. It used to be warehouses and is now a place of distraction with intermittent sounds puncturing the air as it goes about its business. Listening carefully, the landscape now hums. Monier Road Aria is a set of instructional postcards inviting anyone to re-enact this spatial song at home. This pamphlet is part of a series of ongoing actions commenced in 2011, titled Dark Island that explore the changing nature and boundaries of Hackney Wick and Fish Island. May 2020.
