Rooted in a strong modernist aesthetic, Studio B’s fresh, minimalist design, elegant site integration and seamless interplay between architecture, interiors and nature have garnered increasing national attention since the firm’s founding in Aspen, Colorado in 1991 Expansion to the Boulder & Denver markets with the opening of a new studio in Boulder in 2014 better serves our expanding clientele in the Front Range With numerous design awards received over the last decade, and recognition by the American Institute of Architects/Colorado as the organization’s ‘2009 Firm of the Year’, Studio B’s influence and growing portfolio of modernist work have continued to draw attention far beyond the Rocky Mountain West.

Studio B is about a lifestyle of innovation a never-ending search for great design that reaches beyond the mundane. An extraordinary sensitivity to the environment and the materials selected drives our design process. The intent is to create spaces and projects quietly bound to their surroundings rather than shouting their presence. Creating simple design parti’s which respond to the unique qualities of each individual site results in a “quiet”, but powerful architecture that is respectful to the landscape Juxtapositions of rich, textured surface materials and attention to design details, used minimally and modestly, is a design signature used by Studio B to give a deep meaning and relationship between spaces to each project. By exploiting variation in the properties of each material to the greatest degree through the use of pattern, light, repetition, texture and more beautiful, detailed palettes are expressed and articulated. The seamless integration of sustainable concepts understanding how place and environment impact each building through light, views, site, orientation and new technologies completes the singular modern aesthetic
