The concert was filmed for a future DVD.

LES PRESTATIONS DE KRZYSZTOF MICHALSKI, LAURÉAT DU CONCOURS REINE ELISABETH 2026 - MMS ALUMNI https://www.rtbf.be/article/krzysztofmichalski-concours-reine-elisabeth-2026violoncelle-11721939 Krzysztof Michalski, a Polish cellist born in 2003, studied at Musica Mundi School from 2019 to 2021 (Summa Cum Laude). He now studies at the CNSMDP (Edgar Moreau, Cyril Lacrouts) and with Jérôme Pernoo. Second prize at the ARD Munich 2024. Named laureate of the 2026 Queen Elisabeth Cello Competition. Final: Shostakovich, Concerto No. 1.

The school, a Cambridge International School, welcomes around sixty students aged 10 to 18 from more than 25 nationalities. L’ÉTÉ, LE TEMPS DES FESTIVAL POUR TOUS LES GOÛTS Belgium’s well-known summer festival season also includes the more discreet 28th Musica Mundi classical festival (19 July–2 August). Its founders created a school that combines a Cambridge English secondary curriculum with intensive classical training at the renovated former Fichermont Monastery; Queen Mathilde has granted it permanent High Patronage. Students from more than 30 countries attend, and graduates often enter Juilliard, Curtis, the Royal College of Music or the Mozarteum with substantial scholarships. This year’s programme features Maxim Vengerov, Grigory Sokolov, the Jussen brothers, B’Rock Orchestra, young-talent concerts and a closing gala.

28E ÉDITION DU FESTIVAL MUSICA MUNDI The 28th Musica Mundi Festival runs from 20 July to 2 August and offers nine public concerts featuring Grigory Sokolov, Lucas & Arthur Jussen, Maxim Vengerov, B’Rock Orchestra and others, plus performances by 70 gifted young musicians aged 11–20. It closes with a gala on 2 August at 19:00 at Château du Lac, Genval; other concerts take place at the Musica Mundi School in the former Fichermont Monastery in Waterloo. Château SainteAnne members receive reduced prices on star and gala concerts (€75 / €65 instead of €90 / €80) when booking via musicamundi.org and mentioning their membership; young-talent concerts cost €35 for everyone.
