Did anybody say party? In Tilburg, Verbs is well-known for its crazy kitchen parties, in which numerous students dance and play music until early in the morning. If you love to be around people and don’t mind a bit of noise, this is the place for you! As for the people who occupy these buildings, many people from all over the world come to the city for their exchange programs. In terms of the atmosphere: most of the exchange students are generally up for a good time alongside doing their studies.
Oh, and did I mention that everything is shared — the kitchen, the toilets, and the showers? Be sure you feel comfortable walking on the corridor in your towel — there is a very big chance you will meet many on the way. And you’ve probably realized that this might not be the best place for a quiet study session… Well, there are always people around to emotionally support you when coming back from a tough day at the university, which is close by. They will probably throw a party in your honor too because there is always a reason for a drink with the people from your floor.
Shared apartment or house

There are places to live for people who don’t want to hear music blasting every night. Are you having a (part-time) job or an internship that requires you to get lots of rest, but you also want to have fun with people when back home? A shared apartment/house is for you! 21
Living like this is perfect when you have a few more responsibilities than just being a student. Usually, it is a quiet environment (depending on your roommates). Also, these have a homier vibe and can generally be decorated according to your preferences. Your room is not the only space that can be personalized, but also the kitchen, the living room, and even the toilets. A trend nowadays is having posters or quotes on the interior side of your toilet door. So, keep that in mind when moving in and choose wisely which actor, singer, or cartoon character is going to keep you company.
Cobbencampus & Talent Square

If you have the money, Cobben is the choice for you! This is not the student accommodation that you would expect to see when first moving out of your home, though. And I am not saying that in a bad way because this is a more of a ‘luxurious’ type of vibe. Clean, furnished, with all the facilities, included and with cozy common areas: this could be the place in which you can live your high student life. Moreover, the apartments and studios here offer you a great environment in which you can study. They are spacious, with a neat interior design that would probably not make you want to go through the rain to reach the library.
Talent Square is a bit cheaper and also a nice student place to live in. Situated only a few hundred meters away from Cobben, this accommodation comes with two options: studios or rooms with private bathrooms and shared kitchens. This is a good choice if you want both some quiet time and interaction with international students. Other students are coming here to party as well when it is not that cold. Moreover, this common area downstairs is not only great for nightly gatherings, but also for having a barbecue or just chatting with other students at any time of the day.
Have you made up your mind already? Don’t hesitate to try to find a room as soon as possible, because the accommodations are difficult to get in the Netherlands.
