Insights and data from recent alumnae on the lasting impact of Stuart’s Sacred Heart mission.

Stuart’s mission is to prepare young women for lives of exceptional leadership and service within the framework of the Goals and Criteria of the Schools of the Sacred Heart. As a college preparatory school, we value alumnae outcomes beyond the college list. We look closely at how graduates grow, lead, and live out our mission long after graduation.
To better understand the long-term impact of a Stuart education, we surveyed recent graduates currently in college (Classes of 2022–2024) alongside members of our wider alumnae community (Classes of 1967–2021). Their perspectives offer insight into where our graduates go, how they engage with the world, and how a Stuart education continues to shape their choices and sense of purpose.
This is the impact of a Stuart education.

“My business classes and study abroad program have been predominantly male, and being able to work on my confidence in a supportive all girls environment definitely helped me not be as intimidated once I got to college.”
“Stuart helped me build a strong academic foundation, which made my transition to college smooth I especially noticed this in my writing--both of my writing professors in the fall and spring acknowledged the strength of my work and writing skills Stuart also helped me develop a strong work ethic, selfconfidence, and discipline, as well as time management, public speaking, effective communication, collaboration, teamwork, and study skills, along with so much more. All of these contributed to my academic success in college, leading me to make the Dean's List in both the fall and spring semesters.“ Class of 2022-2024

Stuart cultivated my love for the humanities and learning for learning’s sake. [I] had some great teachers who made learning material fun and fulfilling, and this attitude towards education carries on with me in college — I’m grateful to be immersed in such vibrant intellectual life at university and feel empowered to take advantage of its resources through the personal commitment to learning that I developed at Stuart.”

I feel my experiences at Stuart kept my faith alive through college and my twentiesa time when many lose their connection to their faith For that I am especially grateful The friendships I formed are some of the deepest of my current friendships Again, grateful

A values-based education is paramount in today’s age. The Sacred Heart values are so important and needed, and must always remain at the helm of what we do! I am so grateful for how my education at Stuart was guided by a strong moral compass

Teaching at a co-ed high school has made me much more aware and appreciative of how Stuart's all-girl environment gave me the freedom to be myself and the bandwidth to focus on things that were important to me - academics, friendships, etc. Very grateful for my community of strong Stuart women!

I really do believe that I was shaped by the Goals & Criteria I think about Goals 2 and 3 every day Stuart instilled in me a drive to help others, and I could not do what I do without that ethos Additionally, I am so grateful that I grew up learning in an atmosphere of wise freedom; it has made all the difference in my transitions into college, grad school, and the workforce

The Mission Impact Report is part of a new initiative launched in 2025 to better understand the long-term impact of Stuart’s all-girls, Sacred Heart education. The survey was emailed to graduates at two key cohorts: recent graduates enrolled in college (2-4 years since graduating from Stuart) and all other graduates (5+ years). Respondents were asked to share feedback on their educational experience, current career status, and how their degree or certificate has influenced their professional development. Each group received one initial email and up to three automated follow-up reminders to encourage participation.
