Congratulations to the Class of 2025.

I’m delighted to share the remarkable achievements of our Class of 2025 and the fullness of what they have contributed to Stuartholme. Their accomplishments reflect far more than academic outcomes. They represent the spirit, character, and leadership this cohort has demonstrated throughout their final year.

As a community, we are incredibly proud of these young women who have lived our Sacred Heart mission with depth and conviction. Embracing our Focus Goal through their theme All for Her, they have supported one another, stood up for what matters, and contributed to the life of our school. They have shown that excellence is grounded in integrity, compassion, and a willingness to step forward when others need you.

As a Sacred Heart school, we hold the firm belief that education forms both the mind and the heart. The Class of 2025 has grown in courage, curiosity, and a sense of responsibility to make a difference in the world. They leave Stuartholme confident in their strengths and ready to shape the future with the wisdom and experiences they have gained here.

A MESSAGE FROM

The Dean of teaching and learning innovation Stuartholme School proudly acknowledges the Year 12 cohort of 2025, whose leadership, dedication and academic outcomes reflect our proud legacy of excellence. We celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2025 and the commitment to learning throughout their time at Stuartholme.

Across their senior studies, this cohort demonstrated resilience and adaptability, developing a strong sense of agency as learners. Their progress highlights an understanding that education is not defined solely by results, but by the capacity to think deeply, respond to challenge and grow in self-belief.

The Class of 2025 exemplify the words of one of our Wisdom Women, Mother Janet Erskine Stuart: “Effective learning means arriving at new power, and the consciousness of new power is one of the most stimulating things in life.”

Through their studies, these students have developed the confidence that comes from experiencing positive pressure and the discomfort of stepping out of the comfort zone to stretch thinking and build mastery. This awareness has shaped both their academic success and their readiness to step forward with independence and purpose.

Beyond the classroom, they embraced the breadth of opportunities available at Stuartholme. Through the arts, sport, service and leadership, they contributed generously to School life, developing balance and perspective.

This cohort is further distinguished by the way they have lived our Sacred Heart values. With courage and compassion, they strengthened our community and embodied the spirit of “All for Her,” fostering an environment where each young woman is encouraged to flourish.

We extend our sincere thanks to our exceptional teachers, whose expertise, professionalism and dedication have guided these students from their early years through to the completion of their schooling. Their belief in the transformative power of education has been integral to the achievements we recognise.

While these academic results mark an important milestone, their deeper significance lies in the agency they represent. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2025 Congratulations to the Class of 2025 who have achieved outstanding results.

• 100 % of our students attained their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) • 11 of our students achieved straight A grades in all six of their General subjects and received Certificate of Academic Commendations from the QCAA • 4 students have been awarded a Subject Achievement Commendation for achieving a perfect score of 100/100 in Drama, Literature and Study of Religion • 72% of our students achieved an A in 1 or more of their General Subjects studied • 19 perfect scores of 100% in at least one External Assessment; the subjects included: Ancient History, Business, Drama, English, Literature, Study of Religion • 36 perfect scores of 100% in Internal Assessments; the subjects included: Ancient History, Business, Chemistry, Chinese, Drama, English, Literature, Modern History, Music, Physics, Psychology, Specialist Mathematics, Study of Religion, Visual Art • 31 Diplomas were awarded, 1 Certificate IV, 9 Certificate IIIs and 2 Certificate IIs were awarded.

All for Her In 2025, Cor Unum Captain Charli Woodard, alongside committee members Eleanor O’Brien, Mae Carroll, and Eliza Flanagan, called on the Stuartholme community to embrace the student theme, ‘All for Her’.

Inspired by the 2025 Sacred Heart Goal, A Social Awareness that Impels to Action, this theme invited us to act with purpose and stand united.

‘All for Her’ reminds us that justice begins in our everyday interactions. True change happens when we think critically, speak with courage, and act with compassion. It challenges us to step into another’s shoes before we speak, to never be ashamed of the power of our voices, and to recognise that every action, no matter how small, can help another.

This theme is a call to collective action and female empowerment. It’s about standing together and amplifying voices that need to be heard, just as Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat did. It asks us to reflect - How can we make a difference for ‘her’? For a sister, a friend, or a stranger in need?

In a world that presents challenges for women, Stuartholme instils in its students, a deep sense of pride and responsibility to support one another.

School captain

Charli Woodard As Cor Unum Captain, what legacy do you hope to leave for future Stuartholme students?

I’m hoping that in the future, when people remember the 2025 Cor Unum Captain, they think of someone who showed that leadership isn’t always about being the loudest voice or the best in the class.

Instead, it’s about consistency, dedication, and genuine care for others. I want to be remembered as someone who led with kindness, who made every student feel seen, valued, and included.

I hope they remember someone who worked hard to create a sense of unity, someone who encouraged others to set goals, work towards them, and support each other along the way. My goal is to inspire future leaders to know that being a good leader comes from the heart: being inclusive, kind, friendly, helpful, and true.

How has your leadership journey shaped your perspective on community and connection at Stuartholme?

This question is such a hard one for me because Stuartholme has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My sisters and cousins were Stuartholme girls, and I always dreamed of the day I’d wear that blue dress too. Becoming Cor Unum Captain is something I’ll cherish forever. It means more than words can say. Being here has taught me that leadership isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being real. It’s about kindness, teamwork, and lifting others up. The best leaders stay true to themselves. Being authentic is contagious and creates a community where everyone feels free to be themselves, and that’s something that makes our community so strong and rare.

What does it mean to be a Stuartholme girl?

We look out for each other. At Stuartholme, our community is small enough that we truly notice when someone needs help or a friendly face. There’s a real sense of care that flows through the school. We don’t just pass each other by; we take the time to ask how someone’s going, to listen, and to offer support. It’s something really special about our community. We know people across all grades, and there’s a comfort in knowing that no matter where you are, there’s always someone willing to reach out, include you, and help you feel at home. The theme for this year, ‘All For Her’, perfectly encapsulates what it means to be a Stuartholme girl because it

reminds us that everything we do, whether it’s in the classroom, on the field, or in everyday moments, should be done with compassion and a sense of unity. It’s about putting others before ourselves, lifting each other up, and celebrating the achievements of those around us. Being ‘All For Her’ means recognising that our strength comes from community, from friendship, and from the shared belief that we rise by supporting one another.

Who has inspired you most during your time at Stuartholme, and why?

This is such a difficult question because I’ve been incredibly lucky to have so many inspiring teachers during my time at Stuartholme, and choosing just one feels almost impossible. However, two teachers who really stand out to me are Ms Harkin and Ms Foxover.

Ms Harkin has always been such a welcoming and supportive presence. She genuinely cares about every girl and goes above and beyond to make sure we feel valued and heard. Her kindness, patience, and positivity have had a lasting impact on me. She makes everyone feel like they belong.

Ms Foxover, on the other hand, has a remarkable ability to recognise when someone needs help, even before they ask. She has such a gift for knowing exactly what to say and how to support you in a way that makes you feel understood and capable. Her compassion and quiet strength have inspired me to look out for others in the same way.

Both of these teachers have taught me what true leadership and care look like through empathy, encouragement, and genuine connection. They remind me daily of the kind of person and leader I hope to be.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Anything is possible. Don’t take no as an answer, and you can’t control anyone else but yourself!

School Dux

Elizabeth Rosanowski What does academic success mean to you personally, and in what ways do you feel you’ve grown as a learner during your time here?

To me, academic success is not defined by grades or recognition, but by improvement and genuine understanding. I measure success by how much I’ve applied myself, engaged with learning, and felt satisfied with my work. While support from teachers and peers has been invaluable, true success comes from approaching studies with integrity and commitment. This mindset is a skill nurtured through Stuartholme’s holistic Sacred Heart education. My journey has included both confidence and challenge. I began achieving strong results with ease, but in Years 9 and 10 I faced greater difficulty.

These years taught me that progress isn’t linear and looks different for everyone. Accepting this required patience, perseverance, and letting go of rigid expectations. As I learned how I operate best, I rebuilt confidence and adjusted my approach, allowing myself to take longer, learn differently, and accept setbacks.

Concluding my six years as Dux is an immense honour that reflects not perfection but perseverance. It validates my belief that growth and achievement come not from avoiding difficulty but from adapting and having the courage to continue through it.

What study habits, routines, or mindsets helped you stay focused and motivated during your senior years?

Achieving academic excellence during my senior years required study habits and mindsets suited to how I learn. I tried rigid schedules and detailed time-blocking before realising that starting each day with a fresh mindset and valuing small, consistent progress was far more effective. I learned to work in a balance between discipline and intuition, creating a flow that was productive yet less daunting. This helped me maintain momentum during heavy study periods while avoiding procrastination. I prioritised demanding tasks and tackled them first.

What does being a Stuartholme girl mean to you, and how has that identity influenced your experiences and values throughout your school journey?

Being a Stuartholme girl is a source of deep pride, pride in our

community, education, and the mission of our founding women.

Stuartholme is an environment defined by openness, empathy, and encouragement to act. To me, a Stuartholme girl has the self-belief to be ambitious, paired with the humility to listen and commit to lifelong growth. She is confident without ego, inspiring the same in others. I see this in my peers: intelligent, compassionate, and unafraid to share ideas. Throughout my schooling, teachers nurtured this identity by encouraging us to question, voice perspectives, and engage with opinions that challenged our own.

These experiences shaped my values, instilling belief in my potential and that of others, along with a responsibility to think critically and contribute meaningfully.

What advice would you give to younger students who aspire to achieve academic success at Stuartholme?

I would encourage younger students to be curious and engaged in their learning. Feeling confident and comfortable is valuable, but true growth comes from exploring ideas that interest and challenge you.

Make the most of the resources provided at Stuartholme, but don’t be afraid to take initiative and research beyond the classroom. For students who feel stuck or disappointed by their progress, remember that academic journeys are not fixed. You cannot change where you began, but you can always start again from where you are. With belief in yourself, persistence, willingness to learn, and courage to ask for help, you can redefine your goals and achieve success.

Were there any particular subjects, teachers, or moments that shaped your academic path?

I was fortunate to be taught by many exceptional teachers, particularly in my senior years. What made these experiences impactful was not only their commitment to our academic progress but their genuine passion for the subjects they taught. That enthusiasm was infectious and played a major role in shaping my engagement with learning. Feeling supported and believed in by my teachers motivated me to approach my studies with greater purpose and accountability. When it was clear that teachers had invested time, care, and effort into my learning, I felt a responsibility to meet those expectations and honour their commitment. These moments of encouragement and passion deepened my respect and love for learning and reinforced my desire to strive for excellence.

Proxime Accessit

Erin Mansul Balancing elite sport and academic demands is no small feat. What have been the key strategies, supports, or mindsets that helped you thrive in both areas during your time at Stuartholme?

For me, the most important strategy has been effective time management. As a gymnast training 20 hours a week, I often felt the pressure of keeping up with schoolwork and assessments. Learning to use my time wisely has been a major reason for my success in both academics and sport. This meant being fully present in class, making the most of every study opportunity, and using every spare minute productively. I have learned that every extra effort and every couple of minutes spent studying instead of procrastinating truly pays off in the long run. I have also been incredibly grateful for the support system Stuartholme provides. Knowing I could approach teachers for help, guidance, and reassurance made it easier to stay balanced and avoid unnecessary stress.

Academic excellence requires dedication and resilience.

What study habits, routines, or mindsets helped you stay focused and motivated throughout your senior years?

I developed many study habits and routines throughout my senior years, but ultimately everyone is different. Some strategies will work for you while others will not, so it is important to find what supports you and maximises your success. For me, writing down my goals and keeping them visible was essential. Having a clear reminder of what I was working toward made it easier to stay focused and motivated, especially during stressful times. Looking back at those goals reminded me why the hard work mattered and helped prevent overwhelm. I also found it vital to minimise distractions. Creating a study environment where you can concentrate makes a huge difference. Even small changes, like putting my phone away or clearing my desk, helped me stay productive.

Above all, looking after yourself is key. Knowing when your body needs a break is vital not only for your health but for your academic success. Taking breaks, exercising, and focusing on wellbeing is just as important as study. When you feel your best, you can do your best, and that mindset carried me through my senior years.

Were there any particular subjects, teachers, or moments that sparked your passion for learning or shaped your academic path?

I have always loved maths and science since Year 7. They have consistently been the subjects where I felt most engaged, challenged, and excited to learn. A big part of this passion comes from the teachers who supported me along the way, especially my Specialist Maths teacher, Ms Sargent. Despite how daunting the subject seemed, I never regretted my decision. Ms Sargent and my other teachers provided constant encouragement, set high expectations, and showed genuine belief in my abilities. They consistently pushed me to strive for my best. Thanks to these teachers, I have remained motivated, focused, and confident throughout my academic journey at Stuartholme.

Looking back, what advice would you give to younger students who aspire to achieve academic success at Stuartholme?

My biggest piece of advice is to choose subjects you genuinely love.

When you enjoy what you are learning, you stay motivated, engaged, and willing to put in the effort, and your results reflect that.

Do not choose subjects based on friends, teachers, or what others think you should pick. Make decisions based on your interests.

School can be challenging, but you do not need to add unnecessary pressure. Use the resources around you. Teachers and classmates can help ease the workload. It never hurts to ask questions or reach out for help; in fact, it is one of the keys to academic success.

How has your time at Stuartholme prepared you for life beyond school, and what are your hopes for the future?

My time at Stuartholme has shaped me in countless ways, and I will always be grateful for the experience. The community I have been part of and the genuine, supportive connections I have made have shaped the person I am today, giving me confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging. I hope to carry the knowledge, values, and love I have gained from my Stuartholme experience into the wider world.

Wherever possible, I aim to embody the school’s values and Sacred Heart goals and make a positive difference in the community.

Whether through my future career or everyday interactions, I want the spirit of my Stuartholme education to be at the heart of all I do.

Valedictorian

Eliza Flanagan You were named Valedictorian this year. What does this recognition mean to you, and how does it reflect your journey through senior school?

Being named Valedictorian this year was an absolute honour, and I am extremely grateful to have been able to represent my cohort in this way. The girls in my year are some of the best people I have ever met, so being able to speak on their behalf and express my gratitude and love for all of them was genuinely such an amazing opportunity. Our school journey has been an incredible experience, and I am honoured to have conveyed this to the wider community.

What has been the secret ingredient in achieving your exceptional academic results?

I don’t think there is any secret ingredient except putting in effort and developing good habits. From Year 7, I always tried my best and worked hard, and I believe that made the biggest difference in senior years because I didn’t feel overwhelmed by the effort required to do well. While senior school is definitely a step up, starting those good habits early makes the transition so much easier.

This year, you received a great honour as a recipient of the Cor Unum Shield. Can you tell us about this award and what it means to you?

Receiving the 2025 Cor Unum Shield was such an honour, and I feel privileged to have been chosen for this. The award represents leadership and excellence, and I think it highlights the importance of finding a leadership style that works for you. Everyone’s model of leadership is different, and that’s one of the best things about this award. There is no single “right” way to lead, and everyone has it in them to be a leader.

What is one of the most important lessons you’ve learned during your time at school?

There is so much value in reaching out to people and making connections with those around you. Every single person has something different to offer, whether that be a new perspective or experience, and having so many people at your fingertips every day at school is an amazing way to branch out. The community at Stuartholme is incredible, and everyone should take advantage of its benefits.

How did you continually challenge yourself to grow and reach your academic goals?

Because I worked hard from Year 7, I always set high goals and expected myself to achieve them. When I didn’t, I never saw it as failure. I used it as motivation to do better next time. One example I always think of is English. In Year 10, it was by far my weakest subject, not because I didn’t try, but because I struggled to understand it. Going into senior years, I gave it more time and effort, sought feedback from my teachers, and took every opportunity to improve. By the end of Year 12, English became my strongest subject.

Pushing myself to put more into English wasn’t something I enjoyed at first. It was difficult and didn’t feel rewarding, but persevering through that challenge benefitted me so much in the end.

Mission

Lily Haddad What has inspired your strong connection to the Sacred Heart ethos at Stuartholme?

The Sacred Heart ethos not only sets Stuartholme apart from other schools but represents values and beliefs that will stay with me beyond the school gates. My strong connection has been inspired by our motto Cor Unum, meaning “One Heart.” The Sacred Heart values of faith, community, social awareness, personal growth, and respect for intellectual values have shaped how I approach everyday life. Through reflection and involvement in the school’s faith, I have learned the importance of leading with empathy and authenticity. The Sacred Heart ethos has taught me to find strength in kindness and to live with humility and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of those around me.

How has your faith or involvement in the Catholic life of the school shaped your senior journey?

Both my faith and involvement in Stuartholme’s Catholic life have had a meaningful impact on my senior year. As the 2025 Liturgy Captain, I have had the privilege to share and grow in my faith through leading liturgies and reflections while engaging in social justice activities. These experiences have influenced my understanding of true community, built on empathy, connection, and shared faith. I have come to recognise that faith is not only personal but something lived out through kindness and inclusion.

My time at Stuartholme has given me a sense of purpose and gratitude for the Sacred Heart values that will stay with me well beyond school.

As a Stuartholme boarder, what does being part of a Sacred Heart community mean to you personally?

After six years of being a boarder at Stuartholme, I feel as though I have found another group of people to consider family. The girls I have spent every morning and night with have become nothing less than sisters to me. It is a sense of belonging that words can hardly capture, and the impact boarding has had on my life is immeasurable. We are connected by our school’s motto Cor Unum, which perfectly reflects how we live together in unity and care for one another. Boarding life is shaped by how we support each other,

celebrate our differences, and grow together through some of the most influential years of our lives. Being part of the Stuartholme boarding community has shown me the strength of true connection, that even when we are far from home, we are surrounded by people who genuinely care. To me, being a piece of what makes up our Sacred Heart boarding family brings me both immense pride and gratitude. It is an experience I will cherish and miss deeply.

You received the Parents of Stuartholme Trophy, that honours dedication, empathy, a deep understanding of the connection between faith and action in the spirit of the Gospel. How does this recognition reflect your values and leadership?

Receiving the Parents of Stuartholme Trophy was an honour as it reflects the values of compassion, service, and faith in action that I have tried to live by throughout my time at Stuartholme. I have always aspired to lead with kindness, humility, and a genuine desire to support others, whether through my role in liturgy or everyday interactions. This recognition reminds me that true leadership is not about being seen but about quietly uplifting others and contributing to the community with integrity and heart. I am deeply grateful to have been part of a school that nurtures these values and encourages faith-driven leadership.

What message would you share with younger students about living the Sacred Heart values in their own journey?

My message to the younger girls about living the Sacred Heart values is to embrace all that Stuartholme has to offer you and to fully immerse yourself in every experience. It is only then that you are able to appreciate the legacy that has been and is continuing to be left at Stuartholme. Always be kind to one another and kind to yourself. The smallest acts of compassion can have the biggest impacts. Madeleine Sophie founded the Society of the Sacred Heart to ensure all girls had the right to education and felt comfortable within themselves to learn and make mistakes along the way, and this can only be accomplished when we have a community behind us. Always live out the Sacred Heart values not only throughout your education but in your everyday lives. Embrace kindness, compassion, and respect, and never be afraid to lead with your heart.

Boarding

Brooke Chapman As leaders in the boarding community, how have your roles shaped your experience at Stuartholme and your relationship with fellow boarders?

What advice would you give to new boarders starting at Stuartholme who may be away from home for the first time?

Stepping up to a leadership role as a boarding mentor really shaped my experience at Stuartholme because I became someone the younger girls could look to for guidance, reassurance, or even just to have some fun. This role pushed me to be more present and involved with the people around me. Being a mentor also strengthened my relationships with other boarders too, especially the Year 9s who I was a mentor for. Having this leadership role gave me a deeper appreciation for how special our boarding community is, and made me more aware of how much we all rely on one another.

My biggest piece of advice is to give yourself time. Being away from home for the first time is a huge change, and it’s completely okay to feel overwhelmed at the start. Everyone settles in at their own pace.

What has been the most rewarding part of living in a closeknit boarding environment, and what lessons has it taught you about community and support?

The most rewarding part of living in the Stuartholme boarding environment was simply being included in the community. I was constantly surrounded by others who understand me, who see me on my best and worst days, and people who will show up for me no matter what… that is a very special thing to be a part of. Living in the Boarding House has taught me a very valuable lesson in the power of small gestures of kindness: checking in with someone on a bad day, sharing a laugh in the common room, or making room for someone to feel included. It taught me how powerful support can be, and how important it is to offer support as freely as you receive it.

As you leave the gates of Stuartholme, what do you hope to pass down to current and future boarders?

Lean on the people around you: the staff, the older girls, and your fellow boarders. They genuinely want to help, and chances are they understand exactly how you’re feeling. Don’t be afraid to reach out, ask questions, and put yourself out there.

Reflecting on your time in boarding, what has been a defining moment or experience that you’ll carry forward with you?

The most impactful moment of my boarding experience was the final step of my journey here, walking down the guard of honour during Boarder’s Farewell. That moment, hugging the friends I’ve made over the past two years and saying goodbye to my Year 9 girls, gave me the opportunity to look back on my journey in Stuartholme boarding. I saw the connections I had built, the people who had shaped my experience, and understood how important they were to me.

I will carry forward the discovery that while you can make a place feel comfortable on your own, it is the people around you who make that place feel like home.

Eve O’Luanaigh Can you tell us about the exciting early university offers you received and what programs they focused on?

In what ways has Stuartholme prepared you for this next chapter?

I’m grateful to have received early offers for a Bachelor of International Relations/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Global Studies at Australian Catholic University. Both combine legal studies with international relations, offering pathways into careers in law, government, policy, and international organisations. I also received an international offer from Karlshochschule International University in Germany to study a Bachelor of International Relations specialising in international security.

The support from teachers and peers, along with careers and academic mentoring, has been invaluable. I’ve learned to manage challenges, balance responsibilities, and pursue my ambitions steadily. Leadership roles, volunteer programs, cultural immersions, and academics have built my confidence and resilience.

Stuartholme fosters independence, critical thinking, empathy, and community. The values that will guide me well beyond graduation.

What drew you to each of these opportunities, and how did you go about exploring your options?

ANU appealed for its world-class international studies program and flexible double degree, aligning with my goals in international law and security. Earlier this year, Mr Lillyman, Stuartholme’s Careers Counsellor, organised a session with a Stuartholme alumna studying the same program at ANU, which inspired me to apply. I applied to ACU for its strong focus on social justice and the chance to study overseas at its campus in Italy. Studying abroad has always been a goal, especially given my internationally oriented career ambitions.

Karlshochschule stood out for its global outlook and practical approach, offering English-taught courses alongside peers from around the world. I explored and applied for each program with guidance from Mr Lillyman, ensuring I had access to every resource.

If you decide to pursue studies in Germany, what will influence your decision and what excites you most?

I want to broaden my worldview, immerse myself in a different culture, and gain firsthand experience in international contexts.

Studying in Germany would offer a global perspective in a country known for diplomacy and innovation. I’m most excited about the program’s emphasis on practical experience—internships across Europe, collaboration with international peers, and engagement with organisations shaping global policy. Living in a multicultural environment would also strengthen my cross-cultural understanding and diplomacy skills.

What has your time at Stuartholme meant to you?

Stuartholme has given me confidence in who I am and what I can achieve. It’s where I’ve grown most, personally and academically.

I’ve made lifelong friends, had teachers who believed in me, and embraced opportunities I once thought beyond my reach.

Experiences like the Red Earth immersion, volunteering in India, and leadership roles have shaped my independence, values, and sense of purpose. I’ve learned that leadership is about service and ambition matters most when paired with empathy.

How did Stuartholme support you in exploring your interests and preparing for life after school?

Stuartholme gave me space to explore diverse interests through electives, leadership in technology, and cultural immersion trips.

Programs like the UQ Student Ambassador Program helped me connect my skills to future studies and careers. The school also provided opportunities to engage with universities and professionals, building my confidence and clarity about post-school pathways.

What values or lessons will you carry forward?

Compassion, courage, and service. Stuartholme taught me that success isn’t about grades but more about making a positive impact.

The school instilled social awareness and a commitment to action, encouraging me to step outside my comfort zone, support others, and engage purposefully with my community. I’ll carry this mindset into my studies, career, and future communities.

Eve Tully This year, you were honoured with the All Rounder Award.

Could you share what this award represents to you and how it reflects your journey at Stuartholme?

Receiving the All Rounder Award is truly an honour that I never expected. When I think about what this award represents, it’s not just about balancing academics, sport and cultural activities; it’s about the incredible journey Stuartholme has taken me on over the past six years, and the countless opportunities this school has given me to discover who I am.

Over my years here, I’ve been privileged to engage in so many areas of school life, from netball, tennis, volleyball, athletics and rowing, to serving as Debating Captain, Toohey House Vice Captain and Boarding Captain this year. I’ve had the opportunity to give back through debating coaching, helping at masses and liturgies, and participating in social justice initiatives such as the Active 8 Program, that Stuartholme graciously recognises through the Sister Molly Ahern Service Awards. It can definitely be challenging having multiple leadership roles at once, but I never once regretted it because each experience allowed me to be involved in so many aspects of the Stuartholme community.

Balancing academics can be challenging. What strategies or insights would you share with students navigating a demanding workload?

If I could go back and offer advice to my younger self, I would say this: take every opportunity that comes your way and never underestimate what you’re capable of achieving. At times, it can definitely seem like there’s just not enough time to get everything done. But all you need to do is take it one step at a time. If you believe you can do it, you can. Plan things out in advance rather than leaving them to the last minute, and remember that if you’re giving your best, nothing else matters.

As a Stuartholme Boarder and the last of the Tully crew to pass through the School, how has your boarding journey shaped your identity and connection to the Stuartholme community?

Being a boarder these past years has been an incredible experience.

It has given me the opportunity to make lifelong friendships with

girls from all across Australia and appreciate every single person for who they are. The connections I’ve made here I will carry with me forever. I only hope I can give back to the boarding community for the kindness, love and forever friendships they have given me.

Coming from a remote area and attending Distance Education for primary school, Stuartholme gave me so many opportunities that I will never take for granted. Having two older sisters go through Stuartholme meant this place has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Being the last of the Tully crew to finish here is incredibly special to me and I cannot wait until the next Tully generation makes its mark at Stuartholme.

If you could go back and offer advice to your younger self as you started at Stuartholme, what words of wisdom would you share?

Take every opportunity that comes your way and never underestimate what you’re capable of achieving. At times, it can definitely seem like there’s just not enough time to get everything done. But all you need to do is take it one step at a time. If you believe you can do it, you can.

In your view, what does it truly mean to be a Stuartholme girl, and how has this shaped your experience?

To me, being a Stuartholme girl means embracing every opportunity to learn, grow and discover who you truly are. It means giving back to your community through service and supporting others along their own journeys. Stuartholme has given me the chance to explore what I dislike and what I love, to push myself beyond what I thought possible, and to develop connections and friendships that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

It’s about appreciating the opportunities you’ve been given and using them to become the best version of yourself while lifting others up along the way. Stuartholme School has taught me that when you believe in yourself and give your best effort, you can achieve anything.

The Arts

Bethany Van Hecke As Music Captain, what advice would you give to fellow Stuartholme students as they prepare for their final exams, especially those balancing academic and co-curricular commitments?

My best advice is to be intentional with your time and maintain balance. Don’t give up the things you love when stress hits. Exam preparation can feel overwhelming, but stepping away from your passions, whether that’s music, sport, or time with family and friends, rarely leads to better results. If you sacrifice what brings you joy and fulfilment, you risk losing the wellbeing that supports academic success. Plan ahead, communicate with your teachers, and ask for help when you need it. With preparation and support, you can balance commitments and enjoy your senior year.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of being involved in Stuartholme’s Music Program, and how has it shaped your passion for music?

The most rewarding part has been the sense of community. I joined the Music Program in Year 7 when I barely knew anyone. Music gave me the chance to meet people who shared my interests, and many of those friendships remain my closest today, all because I sat in a band rehearsal in 2020.

Music allowed me to contribute to something bigger than myself, which is why I’ve always loved playing in bands and ensembles.

Being surrounded by people who genuinely love making music, from students to teachers and tutors, has shaped me in such a meaningful way. It has strengthened my skills, confidence, leadership, and love for performing. The program has shown me how powerful music is in bringing people together, and that’s something I’ll carry with me long after graduation.

What strategies or habits have helped you excel in music and maintain your commitment to excellence across your studies and leadership roles?

Consistency has been key. Having a clear schedule for classes, flute lessons, rehearsals, and study time has been essential. I stay organised with a weekly to-do list and study plan, and I keep my routine consistent – where I study (always in the Library), when I study, and how I study.

This was especially important when I travelled to Scotland to perform as a flautist at the start of Term 3. My advice: get work done earlier rather than later. Procrastination is tempting, but preparation pays off. Techniques like taking physical notes, using active recall, making mind maps, and ticking off tasks have helped me balance my role as Music Captain with my studies.

Through your leadership, and as the recipient of both the Janet Stuart and Cultural Cup Awards, what do you hope to inspire in younger students at Stuartholme?

Receiving these awards was such an honour, and I’m grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had to grow and thrive at Stuartholme. My greatest hope is to inspire younger students to get involved!

Embracing extra-curriculars and seizing opportunities, from social justice to leadership, has shaped who I am today.

I want to show other Stuartholme girls, including my two little sisters, that the best way to experience high school is to find your passion, get involved, and connect with people. We’ll never again be part of such a tight-knit community, and I hope younger students appreciate the support we have here. If you work hard, stay consistent, and keep showing up, you’ll see the results. Embrace your passions wholeheartedly - the process is just as valuable as the outcome.

What has been a standout performance or moment for you, and why was it especially meaningful?

There have been so many! One of the most meaningful was singing Coeur de Jesu on our last day of classes. The song has been a staple of my time at Stuartholme, and standing at the lectern, looking out at my cohort singing something so special, filled me with pride, even through the tears.

Another unforgettable moment was playing my flute for the last time with the Concert Band at the Celebration of Excellence.

Knowing it was my final performance with friends in a community that has shaped me so much made it bittersweet but unforgettable.

Both experiences reminded me how special Stuartholme is and how lucky I’ve been to be part of it.

Sport

Paige van Gelde As a dedicated athlete at Stuartholme, what have been some of the most rewarding experiences you’ve had in sport, and how have they shaped your time at school?

When I think about my time as a Stuartholme athlete, it is not one single win that stands out, but the early mornings, tough trainings, and the sense of unity with my teammates. Some of my favourite memories were not about medals, but about cheering from the sidelines or competing in the pool and feeling part of something bigger than myself. That sense of belonging meant more than any ranking. Sport taught me how important it is to be someone else’s biggest supporter and to genuinely celebrate their achievements.

That mindset shaped my whole school experience because it pushed me to connect beyond my immediate circle and offer support to anyone who needed it.

As the recipient of the Edwina Howard Award, can you tell me about how much this means to you and why it is important?

Receiving the Edwina Howard Award feels like a genuine recognition from the Stuartholme community of the effort and dedication I have put into our school. Throughout the years, I have tried to immerse myself in the community, support others, and uphold the values that make Stuartholme such a special place.

Knowing this has been noticed and appreciated makes the award incredibly meaningful.

What makes it even more special is my personal connection to Edwina. She was at Stuartholme at the same time as my mum, and the last time I saw her she told me she used to swim as well.

Hearing that created a sense of connection across generations, not just through the school but through a shared passion.

What advice would you give younger students looking to balance academics and sport while excelling in both If I could give any advice to younger students trying to balance academics and sport, it would be to be intentional with your choices and honest about what you can handle. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is to choose subjects you genuinely enjoy that also work in harmony with your sporting commitments. When

your academic load aligns with your training, you set yourself up for success in both areas.

At the same time, do not overextend yourself just because you feel pressure to do everything. It might seem manageable at first, but burnout happens faster than you expect, and once it hits, it affects your performance on the field and in the classroom. Protecting your energy is just as important as pushing yourself.

What legacy do you hope to leave behind for Stuartholme’s future sports community?

When I first started at Stuartholme, the motto was “to be the best she can be,” and it has stayed with me every day since. The legacy I hope to leave in the Stuartholme sports community is simple: always strive to do the best you can in the moment you are in. It does not matter if you are at full strength, feeling unwell, or coming back from injury. Sport is not just about being the fastest or strongest; it is about the effort you choose to give, whether you are training, competing, or supporting your teammates. That is why the legacy I want to leave is one of perseverance. I want future athletes to see that showing up, giving what you can, and pushing yourself to grow, especially when things feel tough, is what makes you stronger as an athlete and as a person.

If you could go back and offer advice to your younger self as you started at Stuartholme, what words of wisdom would you share?

If I could go back and offer my younger self some advice as I started at Stuartholme, the first thing I would say is that no matter how perfectly you plan, there will always be unexpected hiccups. Things will not always unfold the way you imagine, and that is completely okay. What matters most is how you adapt, stay steady when plans change, and push through the tough moments to reach the finish line.

Finally, I would reassure my younger self that she chose her friends well. They will become your biggest supporters, lifting you up when things are hard and celebrating every victory. Their loyalty and encouragement will make all the difference throughout your years at Stuartholme, and I wish I could tell her just how lucky she will be to have them.

From the chats at lunch breaks, Stu the Peacock cawing hello, the afternoon training sessions with your other girls, or simply the late-night giggles in the boarding house, they have all made Stuartholme a great experience.

Gemma Anderson Congratulations on receiving the Margaret Parer Award.

What does this honour mean to you, and how do you feel it reflects your journey and relationships at Stuartholme?

For me, the Margaret Parer Award is a huge honour. It shows that I have the respect and belief of my peers, something I once thought was only a dream. I’ve always strived to build community and relationships by looking out for others and bringing joy through laughter, smiles, and even biscuits. To be recognised for this is something I’m incredibly grateful for. It’s a privilege because it reflects my Stuartholme journey and who I am.

As Multicultural Captain, what have been some of the most meaningful moments or initiatives you’ve led that helped build community and celebrate the spirit of Stuartholme?

This year, as Multicultural Captain, the Committee and I were proud to organise events that celebrated our community. While our plan to host a Holi colour run with Years 5 and 6 was cancelled due to rain, Harmony Week in August became our major event. We organised activities that highlighted the richness of multiculturalism and the privilege we had in 2025 to experience such cultural diversity through food, music, and shared traditions.

Our theme was Everyone Belongs, and we encouraged inclusiveness, respect, and belonging within our school community. Harmony Week reminded us that multiculturalism is central to who we are.

In reality, no one is the same; we are all different. By respecting and learning from one another, we build a school culture that truly represents Cor Unum.

You’re deeply immersed in school life. What drives your passion for involvement, and how has it shaped your experience as a Stuartholme girl?

As a young girl, I was always taught to give everything a go. Coming from a Montessori background, I joined as many things as possible when I arrived at Stuartholme because I had never had these opportunities before. I love being involved because it connects me with the community, but it’s also the spirit and support of

Stuartholme girls that have made my passion for involvement even stronger. My experiences here have truly shaped who I am, and I know I’ll carry these qualities into the next chapter of my life.

What advice would you give to younger students about embracing leadership, service, and connection within the school community?

My best advice is to give everything a go. Embrace the opportunities offered and seek out as many experiences as possible. Life is all about experience. Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks, don’t wait for anyone – just do it for you and strive to do your best.

Whether that means joining volleyball, becoming an SRC for a term, or volunteering at an activity night, just try it because you never know until you do. And most importantly, have fun, because it could lead to bigger things.

Looking back on your time at Stuartholme, what will you cherish most, and how do you hope to carry these values into life beyond school?

Six years out of my seventeen have been spent at Stuartholme more than a third of my life. It has been joyous, exhilarating, exhausting, and tough, all at once, yet my cohort has always been there for me. These 120 girls have had my back, guided me, and given me so much. Seeing their familiar faces every morning is what I’ll miss most.

We, as the 2025 cohort, have achieved so much, but more importantly, we’ve opened our hearts and let the Cor Unum values guide us. I know that every girl who graduates will carry faith, hope, and love into the world.

Arabella Robinson As Academic Captain, how have you worked to foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and academic excellence among the younger students at Stuartholme?

As Academic Captain, and through opportunities such as Student Takeovers and speaking at assemblies, I’ve been able to demonstrate a positive attitude toward learning and encourage a culture of trying hard and giving your best. I’ve worked to create a supportive and engaging academic environment with events such as Homework Club, offering a safe space for primary students to learn with guidance from older peers, and Pi Day, bringing joy and curiosity to mathematical concepts. By playing an enthusiastic role in academic activities, it helps younger students feel confident and excited about their future learning.

Stuartholme encourages holistic education. How did you balance your academic pursuits with co-curricular involvement or leadership opportunities?

Academic balance is important to being able to maintain success for a long time without burnout, and I found the keys to finding this balance are time management and organisation. Planning ahead and knowing your own schedule enables you to be on top of each week and to enjoy participation in co-curricular activities along with meeting study goals. Always remember to respect yourself value your own time by working hard when you have the opportunity, such as using free time in classes to get started on homework, as this can help lighten your load when there is a lot going on. Don’t forget about the community around you as well use the support of peers, coaches and family to keep you organised and accountable.

Were there any particular subjects, teachers, or moments that sparked your passion for learning or shaped your academic path?

Many subjects have shaped my academic path, but maths has been particularly influential, beginning in junior years and continuing through Specialist and Methods in senior. Maths has always challenged me, I’m drawn to its problem-solving nature, which

sparks curiosity and motivates me to understand and apply the complex concepts we learn. I enjoy the collaborative environment in class, where sharing ideas, asking questions, and helping each other creates a supportive and inspiring atmosphere that drives us all to do our best. Specialist in senior has been especially engaging, pushing us to think differently and encouraging consistent effort, strengthening my academic skills as well as my dedication and persistence.

Looking back, what advice would you give to younger students who aspire to achieve academic success at Stuartholme?

The days may go slow but the years go fast, so regret nothing! Take all the opportunities you can to expand your knowledge and your perspective. Work hard in the junior years to understand what you are learning, rather than simply memorising, as this is the foundation for your future. All you can give is your best, and while this may look different on different days, what matters most is that you keep showing up with curiosity, effort, and an open mind. Celebrate progress, remembering that growth is consistency not perfection.

How has your time at Stuartholme prepared you for life beyond school, and what are your hopes for the future?

My years at Stuartholme have given me such support, knowledge, and inspiration. My classes have sparked curiosity in academics, in people and in the world. Through the environment fostered by our teachers, we’ve been taught compassion and confidence, inspired to make a change. Stuartholme has cultivated in me a strong love of learning and a passion to work hard and give my all to the things I love. Over the years I have been challenged to continue to try my best in everything I have done and will carry that to everything I do in the future. I hope to work alongside people in a science-based career that allows me to continue to learn, feed my curiosity, and provide a way for me to give back to my community.

At Stuartholme, we are proud to offer exceptional opportunities in Vocational Education and Training (VET), empowering students to explore diverse career pathways and achieve outstanding results.

Highlights of VET Achievements in 2025: • 31% of Year 12 students undertook at least one VET qualification during their senior years.

• Year 12 students completed 69 VET qualifications, including: - 31 Diplomas - 1 Certificate IV - 9 Certificate III qualifications - 2 Certificate II qualifications • Stuartholme congratulates Abby Marriner who was nominated for the 2025 TAFE at School Graduate of the year.

• Advanced Learning Opportunities: - Stuartholme focuses on offering the most advanced VET qualifications available in high schools – Diplomas.

- While Diplomas account for only 4% of all VET qualifications completed by Queensland Year 12 students, they represent an impressive 62% of Stuartholme’s VET achievements.

Despite the challenges of advanced qualifications, Stuartholme Year 12 students achieved a 100% completion rate for all VET courses.
