One of the more unique Asian pottery traditions is rooted in the mountains of rural Thailand, where craftspeople still use ancient techniques to create distinctive pots by hand. Each pot is crafted individually on a potter’s wheel, engraved with a variety of designs by a master artisan, and then stained with earth-toned colors to highlight these designs.

Vietnamese pottery is famed for its “falling” glazes. This signature look is achieved by thickly applying the glazes to the pots, and then firing them to extraordinary temperatures in wood-burning kilns. At the height of the firing, the glazes become liquid, and drip and run over the surfaces of the pots, creating the unpredictable color “breaks” that are the hallmark of this style.
This assortment of 6 textured shapes (3 x 3pc sets of each) is intended to really highlight this effect, as textured surfaces offer opportunities for the glaze to run and react.

For generations, gardeners have appreciated the warmth and simplicity of raw terra cotta pots. Ours are crafted in Vietnam, but their style draws inspiration from the traditions of Tuscany and Northern Italy.
This collection is crafted by hand, using traditional tools and techniques, and is crafted from a durable terra cotta clay which is suitable for three-season outdoor use in all climates. The pots have a slight antique whitewash applied to them, but are otherwise unfinished, and will allow for air and water to flow through the body of the pots.

Our new Spiral Birdbaths bring a refined elegance to the classic birdbath form. The bulbous stem features a swirling design stretching from top to bottom, while the shallow basin offers bathing opportunities to a wide variety of song birds. These basins are glazed in three gorgeous glazes - Aqua Green, Pearl Ivory, and Glossy Black, which features a contrasting basing interior to help avoid overheated water.
